Vtg Hand-Made Florentia Italy Poem A Doctor's Hands in Wooden Frame Under Glass
A vintage hand-crafted Florentia framed print titled"A Doctor's Hands. made in Italy. This came from the estate sale of a doctor in Cosicana, Texas. The wooden frame is light turquoise blue with a gilded design around the inner rim and also on the bottom edge. The paper print under the glass has a beautiful ornate design in gold, peacock blue, green, and red surrounding the poem. The back is covered in red and gold paper with a sticker saying: A Decorative craft, Florentia, Hand Made in Italy. Nothing to indicate when this was made or the author of the poem. It has a top center metal loop on the back for hanging. Measurements are 7-1/4" by 10-3/8" It is in very good condition, but the frame does have some light scuffs and scrapes and could use some cleaning, but I was afraid I would remove paint if I worked on it much. ... moreAlso, there are some light spots beneath the glass that could use a little cleaning, but the paper backing would have to be removed to do that, and it really isn't bad. The frame is still tight at the joints and the glass has no chips or cracks. No bad issues at all. In the photo, one side of the blue frame appears brighter than the other- caused by the lighting- and the truest color is on the left, not the electric blue on the right.

This is a very haunting picture of a plain victorian woman. I think its a hand tinted photograph of some kind but i'm really not sure. The pose is formal and her expression is truly somber. The brooch at her throat is very nice. The carved wooden frame is possibly Eastlake? It is very ornate it has a carved floral motif that has bits of color in the flowers and leaves. There are also areas of heavy gilt. There is some damage to the frame, it has some cracks in the wood but is all together. The backing is intact. 21&3/4"L x 12&1/2"W.

I'll admit. I don't know as much about antique picture frames as some other antiques I watch. However, a friend of mine asked me to look at it and put it on ebay. From what I have seen, this appears to be a one-of-a-kind hand carved frame. Likely mid 1800's. Wish I had the picture that was in it. This is a lovely lady cooling off her feet in a lake! There is some water damage on the picture.But it seems to have avoided her! Most of it is on the lake or the green hills,which to me, does not detract from the lovely scene at all. There is one area that goes down her one arm and across her dress. I am not bothered by that and as I say, I would rather have the'look' of old and authentic, than a snapshot from Wal Mart! I have been told by a professional dealer that the frame is more valuable than the print.He suggested I start at $150. for the frame! It has carved out leaves and design that are hand painted. He told me the repairs to it are minimal at the corners. I have left it as it is, again, because I like the look of original. Porcelain, photograph or print. The hand carvings are a leaf motif and protrude out from the front of the frame in such beautiful detail. I don't see any chips, damage or repairs. Towards the inner part of the frame there is another very nice continuous beaded pattern. I do notice that the corners have slight separation but this is normal with aging and also a characteristic of a hand made frame. There is a lovely impressed design on the outer part of the frame and another carved line dot pattern. The frame has its original patina of rich dark gilt gold. There is a nice triangular hook for hanging. The frame is approximately 11" square. We're proud to offer this vintage ornate. Gold-painted, hand-carved wooden frame. It measures 22x16" on the exterior. And takes a 17.5x11.25" art or mat. I can only guess at the age. I purchased it at an antique estate auction in the rural mountains of Pennsylvania. Where lumber barons built mansions full of fine furnishings over a century ago. We were told by the aucitoneer that an area man used to carve frames like this. So I'm going to guess it to be from early in the 20th Century, but it could be about any age, I suppose. Offered for sale is this antique French hand carved wood wall picture frame. It decorated with flowers and leaves design. It has old picture of a lady in it. I opened up the framing and saw a interesting antique stock share holder paper backing the picture. It has a date but couldn't find the year on it, perhaps it has been cut off. The frame is in very good condition for age, it does have some minor chips on top of roses' petals, they are unnoticeable. I believe this is a late 19th century piece, possibly was from France. The backing thin oval shaped wood board is solid hard wood thin cut. The old hanging wire is rusty, I put a new one. The frame is 22-1/2"H x 13-3/4"W x1-3/4"Thickness. Antique/Vintage 1800's Hand Carved Tramp Art Frame. Great Condition, 17" x 13" Up for sale is an antique Folk art/Tramp art picture frame with an old picture in it. The frame is what they call Tramp Art. Over a 100 years old, hand made folk art. It's a really neat frame and definitely is old. All wood with inner Gold trim. It's in really good shape. The front has very little wear/tear, it looks like there was an additional leaf on the other top left corner, but not positive, It's solid and complete. The inside trim is gold and shows some wear. The back has no wire, Will need to be replaced. It has just about all it's nails on the back to hold the picture, very rustic backing with one split and a crack so the back piece will also would need proper repairing, there is one chunk out of the back left corner of the ... moreframe(see picture) still has the eye loops for wire, no glass.this is a great piece for collectors. The picture is an old print of the residence of Alvin Buck Esq. Co.unfortunately someone wrote $2.00 on it. I am not sure when, this frame came from a friend who has had it for many years, but the frame is the most collectible. The actual opening for the picture measures approx. 14 1/2" long x 11" tall The outside dimensions are: 17" long x 13" tall from side to side. Early 1900's or older hand carved& molded Gesso over wood with gold painted background. In good condition with slight separation of the wood at the fitted corners but no serious damage. Minor areas of the gesso are chipped. Paint has an aged darken look. Which is right for the age. The corner fasteners are guillotine cut iron with heads striked by a blacksmith. VINTAGE WALNUT FRAME 1920-1940's maybe HAND MADE MODERN PRINT ART DECO FASHIONS
VINTAGE WALNUT FRAME WITH COLORFUL STYLE ART DECO LADIES’ FASHIONS FOR THE BEACH. Frame contains a vintage print. The vintage print is circa 1960– 1970’s– a copy of some of the fashion prints from the old McCall’s or Ladies Home Journal magazine. The walnut frame is from 1920’s- 1940’s and almost looks hand made if you look at the back of the frame. Flat walnut molding for the frame with original good color finish. Outer measurements of the frame are 12 ¼ inches by 17 ¼ inches. Size of the opening for the glass and contents is 11 inches by 16 inches. The flat walnut molding measures over 1 inch wide from the front and about 1 inch deep from the side. Nice molding. A few superficial scratches on the wood. Tiny space at the upper left front corner– see photo. The print is in good condition– not torn. Not faded. Really looks like it ... moreis right out of an Art Deco magazine except that the size of the print is too large. Print has glass and cardboard backing. Print is good– not discolored. Not torn. Frame and contents weigh about 2 ½ pounds before packing. ALL SALES FINAL. I am selling items that have some age to them. Naturally there will be irregularities and flaws. Just because of the age. Frame measures approx 22.5" x 17" The photo is of a pretty girl. And she is unidentified. It shows water stains, and some water damage and some scratches, but it is still overall very clear and pretty. Photo has a sepia color with some tinted color. Glass is good. There are some surface cracks on the frame but for it's age. That can be expected. The photo is pushed to the side of the glass, so there are some crack marks on the photograph. This is a lovely frame. It has convex glass and the overall size is 17" by 12" It is gilt with painted flowers in all the corners. I have taken detailed pictures of all the areas for you to zoom and see. There is a repair to the top edge of the frame. That you can see in Pic#9. The repair is smooth, but not painted/touched up. I guess because it is on the top.they didn't care since it could not be seen. There is a small chip in the finish on the'wood grain' look section.see pic#8 with the blue arrow.
