We have for sale a Pair of Matching Antique Vintage Victorian Deep Walnut Carved Gold Gilt Picture Frames. First of all they are 17 ¾ inches by 15 ¾ inches(outside) 9 ¾ inches by 7 ¾ inches(image area) They are in very nice condition, but not perfect. They do have some rubs, minor nicks, and some discoloration in the gold areas. These were purchased at an estate sale. They do each have glass in them, with a wood backing, ready for you to add your favorite photo or painting. The outside frame itself is 4 inches in width and 3 ¾ inches thick. It is actually 3 frames together, the inner frame being the gold gilt. You have a nice 1 ½ inch black carved portion, setting off the two gold frames. I believe these frames could be touched up a little or even left as they are for that nice vintage look. A $1.85 has been ... moreadded to your shipping for insurance. From my non-smoking home. Beautiful Civil War era or later Deep Walnut Frames with unusual deep. Thick(and unpatterned) gilded liner. Lovely old patina and in solid shape. This walnut frame pair is not your typical deep walnut frame. And instead of straight molding, is more swirl carved and is embellished with tiny carved out flowers. The frame with the rose and pansies has old glass with a few small bubbles. I think the fuchsias and violets has one bubble in the glass. But it is tiny. The wool needlepoint panels are both in good condition with no apparent fading/staining(it's the glare on the glass.it's impossible to photograph without reflections) or moth damage. The inside of the frames(and also the size of the needlepoint) is approximately 7-1/2" x 9-1/2" The frames measure 11-1/2" x 13-1/2. And the frame itself ... moreis about 2-3/8" deep.

Mat and wood backing. I am not sure if the glass is original because I don't see any of the typical imperfections of old glass. The frame is in excellent condition with the exception of an area on the side near the back where the frame was evidently bumped and chipped. The piece is still there, but you can see the edge around it in the next to last picture where it doesn't fit back in perfectly. I honestly didn't notice it until I started inspecting the frame, but there is a tiny chip out of it. Other than that, there are ... morelittle gaps where the pieces of wood in the frame come together, as shown in the pictures. This can be tightened, but many people choose to use the frame in the antique condition with the gaps. The original backboard is in two pieces. It was originally held to the frame with nails along the edge, but most of those nails are gone, so it will need some new ones. I put some tape on the backing to hold it in place for now. Overall the frame is in excellent condition and displays beautifully. The outside dimensions are 11-3/8" wide by 13-1/2" long. Without the mat, the opening is 6-3/4" by 8-3/4" WIth the mat, the opening is perfect for a 5" by 7" picture or print. From our non-smoking home… Beautiful Civil War era or later Deep Walnut Frame. Has a beautiful gilded liner in great condition. Plus ebonized details. Glass is older, but not overtly wavy or bubbled, the imperfections are not obvious and can only be seen from the side. Lovely old patina and in solid shape. A little damage to the gilded liner on the left side. The back has its original pine shingle backing. Which is currently not attached…I will leave this to the new owner. Large Late 19th Century Victorian style Solid wood picture frame. the outside of the frame is is solid wood with a decorative gesso design center frame. The decorative gesso to the to the innermost section of the frame is decorated in gold Leaf. Although hard to see, im sure it can be cleaned up bring out the colors. 15 1/2 x 19 3/4 inside picture frame. The frame is 5 1/2 in wide. The picture inside the frame is a signed chronograph print by William henry Chandler. He was an artist who resided in North Jersey and commuted to New York daily. He was in business with his brother who was in charge of the administration side of the business. he also made some of the frames for chandlers Pieces. HOWEVER THIS FRAME IS ONLY A FRAME FROM THE SAME TIMEPERIOD. NOT MADE BY CHANDLERS BROTHER. These vintage solid oak wood frames measure a little over 6 x 7 inches with a 4 1/2 x 5 1/2 gold gilt ribbet. They are 1 1/2 inches deep from top to back bottom and come with their original back hanging wire and hooks. They are open frames with no glass. Their wood grain is just wonderful(I added a touch of wood oil to show the grain) Two of them have a little bit of pink writing on the top which I believe could be removed(looks like maybe someone wrote a price of 99 cents with a crayon type pencil) They are super study solid wood frames. The actual painting space measures 11 x 14 inches and the frame itself measures 20 inches wide by17 inches long. Old estate sale find. Heavyweight wooden& gesso picture frame(no glass) Measures approx 12" X 14" Will fit a painting or picture approx 10" X 12" Frame is 2" deep. Well constructed and solid at the corners. Wonderful symmetry in the decorative design. Age unknown, but old. Could use a cleaning. Some wear the gilded antique-gold color finish, primarily on the sides. One area of front rim has a sliver of wood missing(see photo) that existed before the frame was finished, it is under the finish. This frame has not been over-painted or altered in any way. This 1880s frame measures 28 1/2“ x 43 1/2“ overall with 18 1/2“ x 33 1/2“ reveal and 19“ x 34 1/4“ back rabbet opening. It is bold, wide, deep and ornate with over 90% of the original gilt and lemon gold remaining. There are numerous chips and losses in the outer gesso(some are fairly large) and there is an area of unexpected wear upper left in the lemon gold with black streaks and very old inpaint. It looks to be carved with the details added, I don't know if they are wood or a gesso/composite, all very solid, nothing is loose or chippy. It is gold with red showing under, which makes the edges, seams showing to look to be on purpose, since none are loose. Measures just under 3" thick. Large Early 1900s Antique Deep Gold Gilt Wood & Gesso Picture Frame 22" x 18"
Up for auction is a lovely antique gold gilt molded gesso frame. American, dated to the early 1900s. This frame has been in my family for ages and I've had it in my clean, non-smoking home for about 15 years. As I've downsized, I no longer have the wall space for it. The condition of this antique frame is very good. It's completely original with no restoration that I can find. Even the glass looks old. There are a few nicks. But you really have to look for them. It's covered with a lovely rich, burnished gold. See the pictures for the condition. It has classical carving around the outside edge with American cove and beaded design on the inside of the frame. It's composition on a wooden frame. The outside frame measures approximately 22" x 18" The inside opening is 14" x 19" The frame itself is 1 7/8" ... moredeep. Up for bid are 2 hard to find Antique Eastlake era deep wood gilt gold picture frame with etching on the corners. The frames are multi layered. 3 layers to create one highly styled artistic frame with a deep well. Square nail constuction. There are some chips on the corner of each frame. Be sure to look at the pictures closely. The glass appears to be very old as there are small bubbles in it. I don't know what the pictures are. I did not open the backs of the frames. This is an antique mid 19th century lemon gold gilded reeded deep cove stenciled frame. It dates approximately 1860s to 1870s. Overall. It measures 19 inches x 15 inches(48.3 cm x 38.1 cm) The back opening size is 14 1/8 inches by 10 1/8 inches(35.9 cm x 25.7 cm) The molding measures 2 3/4 inches wide(7 cm) It's a very thick frame at 2 1/2 inches(6.34 cm) The frame has the great age-related marks that develop over the years on these frames. It's made with old square cut nails. There is no glass. The finish has been lightly touched up along one of the short sides where there are a few tiny nicks and very lightly along one of the long sides(please see photos) It has a light chip in three of the corners. But the fourth corner has a large chip measuring 1 inch x 3/8 inch(2.54 cm x.95 cm) It has a few other tiny nicks, but none major. ... moreThe color and patina are lovely. Antique EASTLAKE Ebonized & Lemon Gold Gilt Deep PICTURE FRAME 8x10 w Carving
Up for sale is this circa 1870 Eastlake style frame with original ebonized gesso on wood finish with delicate intaglio carved corner details. I especially like the potted plant at lower left. The frame features bright(fly-specked) lemon gold accent on both the outer and inner edges of the frame. Nicley offsetting the ebony. The ebonized finish has a few chips and scratches. And the top section has a brown tint to it(might be able to be cleaned, but I did not want to try) The lemon gold is in very good. Aged condition with a nice patina. Its outer dimensions are 13” x 15” And the rabbet is 8” x 10” The molding is about 3” wide and 1 5/8” deep, and has some rubs and scratches with stable finish. A wonderful. Sturdy frame. Two antique walnut. Deep shadow box picture frames. Both need cleaning and one still has an old print of a woman in it. Not an exact matching pair. The one with the print measures 14" x 16" x 3" deep and glass front measures 9-1/2" x 11-1/2" The other one measures 15" x 17" x 3" deep and the opening measures the same. You are looking at a Vintage/Antique Walnut Deep Picture Frame. The frame measures approximately 14" x 12" x 3" The picture opening measures approximately 8" x 10" W) There is a glass and an original wood back on this frame. There is old floral print in this frame that is still intact. I see some very light scratches on frame and gold gilt insert. Also. On the wooden back there is some dry paint. All this can be improved with a little TLC. I didn't do anything to this frame. I am leaving it up to you. This is really a beautiful.
