Small Antique Mid 19th Century Mahogany Veneer Frame Lemon Gold Gilt Liner
This is a small antique mid-19th century period mahogany or possibly rosewood veneer frame with a lemon gold gilt liner. It dates from around the 1840s to 1850s. And possibly earlier. It has a lovely old finish. But given its age. It has a number of small imperfections. But the overall look is quite beautiful. Overall. The frame measures 6 3/4 inches by 10 9/16 inches(17.2 cm x 26.8 cm) The back opening size is 4 7/8 inches by 8 3/4 inches(12.4 cm x 22.2 cm) The molding width measures 1 5/8 inches(4.3 cm) The frame itself is very thick at 1 3/8 inches(3.5 cm) The issues: there is a slight separation at each of the corners where the wood meets. It has a tiny dent in the top left-hand corner of the frame. It has numerous light scratches on it. But the veneer is fairly thick so they still look dark. There is an approximately 1/4 inch by 1/8 ... moreinch chip in one corner of the frame. Next to it are some dents and small scratches(please see photos) The liner is worn at places and the gray is showing through. It has half of the original hanging piece on the back. But is missing the ring part. You can see the sheets of gilding on the liner. The liner has a tiny chip in one corner and two in another corner(please see photos) I believe there was glass at the front. Then something sitting in it, and then a back to keep it in place, forming a shadowbox(please see photo) The back itself is made deep by an additional layer of wood attached to it. I've secured the liner in place with frame staples. It has its original wavy and bubbled glass. But it has some scratches and scuff marks to it. It would be great for an old oil painting. Drawing, folk art work, sampler, fraktur, silhouette, etc. It weighs just over 1 pound(454 g) It has what I always look for in frames. That wonderful old world look! One corner has a little damage.I did not try to touch it up. But a little Formby's should hide it well. The frame itself measures 12" x 14" And the opening for the photo is 7-1/2" x 9-1/2" The frame itself is about 2-1/4" deep, with a total of 2-3/4" deep with the molding on the back to hold the photo. PAIR Walnut Deep Frames~Floral Needlepoint~Gilt/Gilded Liner~Civil War/Victorian
From my non-smoking home. Beautiful Civil War era or later Deep Walnut Frames with unusual deep. Thick(and unpatterned) gilded liner. Lovely old patina and in solid shape. This walnut frame pair is not your typical deep walnut frame. And instead of straight molding, is more swirl carved and is embellished with tiny carved out flowers. The frame with the rose and pansies has old glass with a few small bubbles. I think the fuchsias and violets has one bubble in the glass. But it is tiny. The wool needlepoint panels are both in good condition with no apparent fading/staining(it's the glare on the glass.it's impossible to photograph without reflections) or moth damage. The inside of the frames(and also the size of the needlepoint) is approximately 7-1/2" x 9-1/2" The frames measure 11-1/2" x 13-1/2. And the frame itself ... moreis about 2-3/8" deep.

Antique Biedermeier Black & Brown Lemon Gold Gilt Liner Wood Frame
This is a very handsome antique Biedermeier black and brown wood frame with a lemon gold gilt liner. I'm going to date it 1920s. But it may be just before or just after. Overall. It measures 8 9/16 inches x 11 3/16 inches(21.75 cm x 28.42 cm) I can't measure the back opening size due to the wooden backing. So I'm going to give you the site edge on front of the frame instead. It measures 6 3/8 inches x 8 7/8 inches(16.19 cm x 22.54 cm) The molding is 1 1/8 inches wide(2.86 cm) The grain on this frame is just beautiful. It looks like mahogany veneer with black ebonized corners. It has great looking. Well made lap joints at the corners. It has its original easel back. But it's badly attached(please see photo) However, it stands up fine. It has some slight damage to it. There's a tiny chip on the lemon gold gilt liner along ... morethe bottom. The ebonized black square in the top left-hand corner has a crack going through it along with some very tiny cracks. There's a small chip on the top. A little to the right of the middle. There's also a small chip on the bottom right-hand corner(please see photo) It has a number of tiny dings/nicks on it, but they seem to just blend in with the frame. However, the ones along the bottom of the frame do stand out a bit. The frame also has light scratches on it. The colors and patina are really beautiful. It has its original wavy glass. It's a sturdy. Well made frame. It would be great for an old oil painting. Drawing, folk art work, sampler, fraktur, silhouette, etc. It has what I always look for in frames. Large Antique Birdseye Maple Lemon Gold Gilt Liner Portrait Frame
This is a beautiful large antique Birdseye maple veneer and lemon gold gilt liner portrait frame. It dates sometime from the mid to later 19th century. Overall. It measures 27 7/8 inches x 33 7/8 inches(70.8 cm x 86 cm) The back opening size is 23 7/8 inches x 29 7/8 inches(60.6 cm x 75.9 cm) The site edge is 22 1/8 inches x 28 1/4 inches(56.2 cm x 71.8 cm) The molding measures 2 3/4 inches wide(7 cm) This is a really nice frame! It has a gorgeous rich color and lots of detailed birds eyes. It also has great width. You can actually see the sheets of gold leaf that were originally layed down on the liner. It was made with old square cut nails. There is no glass. The veneer is 95% intact on three sides. But only 65% intact on one of the long sides. The corners are each missing a little veneer. Fortunately, due to the darkness of the underlying ... morewood, it hardly shows. There are some missing pieces of veneer to the front. On the left molding. There's about a 1" chip off the liner in the upper left-hand corner. There's a 3" x 0.25" and another 1" x 0.25" piece of the veneer missing. On the top molding there is a 1.5" x 0.5" deep chip and a 3" x 0.25" piece of missing veneer on the upper right-hand corner. On the bottom molding there is a.75" by.25" chip. I've photographed most of these close-up. These are the major issues. There are a few small nicks. Scratches and missing veneer, but they don't stand out. Over time. Oxidation or perhaps someone's touchups have darkened the spots where the veneer is missing. But it still blends in well with the Birdseye Maple. The frame has developed a really beautiful. Rich looking patina. It would be great for an old oil painting. Folk art work, large sampler, fraktur, etc. It weighs 3 lbs. 7 oz. 1.57 kg) It has what I always look for in frames. This frame date anywhere from 1870 to about 1880. Has mitered joints and square nail construction. It is the original finish though the finish is in fair condition. The paint on the liner looks to be the original and is also in fair condition. It also has a name written on the back. Actual sight measurement is 11 5/8” by 9 1/2” while the actual size including the blind space in back is 10 1/16” by 12 1/16” The frame itself measures 17 1/2” by 15 3/4” and it measures 2 3/8” out from the wall. I have no glass, but there is a picture, and some old wire eyelets.
