This superb frame measures an impressive 29” x 34” overall with 21 ¼” x 26 ¼” reveal and 22 x 27” back rabbet opening. The stacked gesso moldings are 4” wide and 4” deep! This is a large antique mid-19th century lemon gold gilded stenciled portrait frame. This particular frame wasn't originally used for a portrait. Though this type of frame is frequently used for that purpose. It measures 23.25" x 29.25" overall(59 cm x 74 cm) The back opening size measures 18" x 24" 45.7 cm x 61 cm) The molding width is 3" 7.6 cm) The frame hasn't been retouched at all. It does have a few chipped off pieces. Along the left side there is one measuring 6.5" x 0.5" 16.5 cm x 1.27 cm) Just below it is one measuring 4" x 0.5" 10.16 cm x 1.27 cm) There are four other small chipped areas ranging from 1/2 inch to 2 inches(1.27 cm to 5.1 cm) Please see photos) It has its original period wavy and bubbled glass. Pair Antique Mid 19th Century Silver Gilded Lemon Gold Frames
This is an almost exact pair of antique mid-19th century silver gilded lemon gold frames. They were both covered in paint and were professionally stripped to bring out the original silver gilding. As a result of the stripping. Some of the silver gilding came off, mostly on the raised edges of the frame molding. Also, some of the paint couldn't be removed, but it tends to blend in with the frames. Overall. One measures 14 3/4 inches x 19 1/4 inches(37.47 cm x 48.9 cm) It fits a picture measuring 10 5/8 inches x 15 1/8 inches(27 cm x 38.42 cm) It's molding width measures 2 1/2 inches(6.35 cm) The other is similar in size. Overall. It measures 14 5/8 inches x 19 3/8 inches(37.15 cm x 49.2 cm) It will hold a picture measuring 10 1/2 inches x 15 1/4 inches(26.67 cm x 38.74 cm) It's molding also measures 2 1/2 inches wide(6.35 cm) As ... moreyou can see in the photos. Small Antique Mid 19th Century Mahogany Veneer Frame Lemon Gold Gilt Liner
This is a small antique mid-19th century period mahogany or possibly rosewood veneer frame with a lemon gold gilt liner. It dates from around the 1840s to 1850s. And possibly earlier. It has a lovely old finish. But given its age. It has a number of small imperfections. But the overall look is quite beautiful. Overall. The frame measures 6 3/4 inches by 10 9/16 inches(17.2 cm x 26.8 cm) The back opening size is 4 7/8 inches by 8 3/4 inches(12.4 cm x 22.2 cm) The molding width measures 1 5/8 inches(4.3 cm) The frame itself is very thick at 1 3/8 inches(3.5 cm) The issues: there is a slight separation at each of the corners where the wood meets. It has a tiny dent in the top left-hand corner of the frame. It has numerous light scratches on it. But the veneer is fairly thick so they still look dark. There is an approximately 1/4 inch by 1/8 ... moreinch chip in one corner of the frame. Next to it are some dents and small scratches(please see photos) The liner is worn at places and the gray is showing through. It has half of the original hanging piece on the back. But is missing the ring part. You can see the sheets of gilding on the liner. The liner has a tiny chip in one corner and two in another corner(please see photos) I believe there was glass at the front. Then something sitting in it, and then a back to keep it in place, forming a shadowbox(please see photo) The back itself is made deep by an additional layer of wood attached to it. I've secured the liner in place with frame staples. It has its original wavy and bubbled glass. But it has some scratches and scuff marks to it. It would be great for an old oil painting. Antique Walnut Deep Well 8.75"x10.75" Picture Frame Lemon Gold Liner
Up for auction is an antique deep well walnut Victorian picture frame recently found at auction in the Lancaster County. PA area. It is found in good used condition and features a lemon gold colored inner liner. The liner does have some minor discoloration on the surface. There is a small crack in the frame which can be repaired. This is best seen in photo#4. There are some surface scratches as well, shown in photo#3. It has a hanger on the back, which shows age, but I cannot say if it is original or not. This antique frame will accommodate a picture or photo which measures approximately 8 3/4" x 10 3.4" in size. This is a very good-looking antique mid-19th century lemon gold gilt portrait frame. I would date it 1850s to 1860s. As this look in frames was popular during that period. Overall. It measures 21 3/4 inches x 27 3/4 inches(55.25 cm x 70.5 cm) The back opening size is 18 inches x 24 inches(45.72 cm x 60.96 cm) The molding measures 2 3/8 inches wide(6.03 cm) The frame is in very good condition except for a few small issues. Each corner has a tiny nick in it. One a little larger than the others at about 1/4 inch by 1/2 inch(64 cm x 1.27 cm) There are also a few areas where some light touch ups were done many years ago. For the most part, they blend in with the frame. But they are there. There are also a few tiny nicks going around the outside edge. There are also some light scratches and scuff marks on the frame. This is a beautiful antique late 19th century lemon gold gilt. Red velvet and oak frame. It was created around the turn-of-the-century with three separate frame types. The oak dates circa 1900. The velvet circa 1880s and the lemon gold gilt liner approximately 1850s. Together they make a beautiful frame. Antique Biedermeier Black & Brown Lemon Gold Gilt Liner Wood Frame
This is a very handsome antique Biedermeier black and brown wood frame with a lemon gold gilt liner. I'm going to date it 1920s. But it may be just before or just after. Overall. It measures 8 9/16 inches x 11 3/16 inches(21.75 cm x 28.42 cm) I can't measure the back opening size due to the wooden backing. So I'm going to give you the site edge on front of the frame instead. It measures 6 3/8 inches x 8 7/8 inches(16.19 cm x 22.54 cm) The molding is 1 1/8 inches wide(2.86 cm) The grain on this frame is just beautiful. It looks like mahogany veneer with black ebonized corners. It has great looking. Well made lap joints at the corners. It has its original easel back. But it's badly attached(please see photo) However, it stands up fine. It has some slight damage to it. There's a tiny chip on the lemon gold gilt liner along ... morethe bottom. The ebonized black square in the top left-hand corner has a crack going through it along with some very tiny cracks. There's a small chip on the top. A little to the right of the middle. There's also a small chip on the bottom right-hand corner(please see photo) It has a number of tiny dings/nicks on it, but they seem to just blend in with the frame. However, the ones along the bottom of the frame do stand out a bit. The frame also has light scratches on it. The colors and patina are really beautiful. It has its original wavy glass. Large Antique Birdseye Maple Lemon Gold Gilt Liner Portrait Frame
This is a beautiful large antique Birdseye maple veneer and lemon gold gilt liner portrait frame. It dates sometime from the mid to later 19th century. Overall. It measures 27 7/8 inches x 33 7/8 inches(70.8 cm x 86 cm) The back opening size is 23 7/8 inches x 29 7/8 inches(60.6 cm x 75.9 cm) The site edge is 22 1/8 inches x 28 1/4 inches(56.2 cm x 71.8 cm) The molding measures 2 3/4 inches wide(7 cm) This is a really nice frame! It has a gorgeous rich color and lots of detailed birds eyes. It also has great width. You can actually see the sheets of gold leaf that were originally layed down on the liner. It was made with old square cut nails. There is no glass. The veneer is 95% intact on three sides. But only 65% intact on one of the long sides. The corners are each missing a little veneer. Fortunately, due to the darkness of the underlying ... morewood, it hardly shows. There are some missing pieces of veneer to the front. On the left molding. There's about a 1" chip off the liner in the upper left-hand corner. There's a 3" x 0.25" and another 1" x 0.25" piece of the veneer missing. On the top molding there is a 1.5" x 0.5" deep chip and a 3" x 0.25" piece of missing veneer on the upper right-hand corner. On the bottom molding there is a.75" by.25" chip. I've photographed most of these close-up. These are the major issues. There are a few small nicks. Scratches and missing veneer, but they don't stand out. Over time. Oxidation or perhaps someone's touchups have darkened the spots where the veneer is missing. But it still blends in well with the Birdseye Maple. The frame has developed a really beautiful. This is a large antique mid 19th century silver lemon gold gilt portrait frame. It dates circa 1850s to 1860s. Overall. It measures 24 1/8 inches x 30 1/8 inches(61.3 cm x 76.5 cm) The back opening size is 20 1/8 inches by 26 1/8 inches(51.1 cm x 66.4 cm) The molding width measures 2 1/2 inches(6.4 cm) This was a lemon gold gilt frame that had been painted over and was professionally stripped. It has a lot of loss to the old silver finish. The bottom piece of molding is missing much of its silver along the site edge. Which measures 15 1/2 inches x 3/4 inches(39.4 cm x 1.9 cm) please see photos) There are some dark stain-like marks along the lower part of the right side piece of long molding and other dark spots along the bottom short piece of molding. There are other light chips around the edges. But this is very common with these frames ... moreand it's difficult to point out each one. Overall. The marks tend to just blend in with the frame, as they are expected to show a lot of age. However, this frame has more marks than most. Large Antique Mid 19th Century Lemon Gold Gilt Frame Mirror
This is a great looking antique mid-19th century lemon gold gilt frame with its original mirror. It dates circa 1850s to 1860s. Overall. The frame measures 26 3/8" x 42 5/8" The back opening size, if you were to take the mirror out, is 20 3/4" x 37 1/8" The molding width is 3 1/4" It has all those great all dots. Lines and beautiful patina found on these early lemon gold frames. You can see the lines where the lemon gold gilding was laid down. It has that cool old mustard yellow paint on the sides and old square cut nails found on these early frames. There are two rings in the back. But I'm not sure if they're original. The wood on the back is loose. So I loosened it a bit more to measure the back opening size, and found that it indeed has its original mid-19th century mirror. The mirror has the usual loss ... moreto the silvering, but it's minimal. Even though the wood back is loose. The mirror is held in very securely with woodblocks. The corners are each off about 1/8 inches where they meet. I don't know if it was cut that way or is due to time. There's a tiny chip in each corner. On one of the long sides there is a very light chip about 2" x 1/8" inches. But it barely shows. Except for a few minor scratches, this frame is in really good condition. It weighs 17 lbs. 12 oz. It has what I always look for in frames. That wonderful old world look!

It is a lemon gold gilded frame, housed a lovely antique lilac painting from 1901, so I am guessing the owner wanted to be a shabby-chickee and throw some paint onto an antique frame to match her painting. I really liked this one as it has much wider molding than normal in these types of frames.The molding is almost 3 ins. wide.The entire frame measures 15 1/4 x 16 1/2 ins. while the insert rabbet is 10 1/4 x 12 1/4 ins. The frame is in fair/good as is vintage condition with the typical surface scrapes/chipped gesso/crazing that this finish is known for. It used to house a 1870s chromolithograph. So it dates to that time as well. Outdoor pictures The outside edges are not gilded. So this may have been a large inner molding liner for another larger frame at some point. This beautiful ornate gold gilded frame measures a large 37 x 31 x 2 inches overall and has an opening of 21 1/2 x 27 1/2 with the mat or 24 x 30 if the mat were removed. Antique Early 20th Century Lemon Gold Gilt Frame 14 X 18 Opening
This is a very pretty antique early 20th century lemon gold gilt frame. It dates circa 1900 to 1920. Overall it measures 17 1/2 inches x 21 3/4 inches(44.5 cm x 55.3 cm) The back opening size is 14 1/8 inches x 18 3/8 inches(35.9 cm x 46.7 cm) The molding measures 2 inches wide(5.1 cm) This is not one of the 19th-century lemon gold frames you usually find. But still a high quality piece. You can see the lines of gilding on it. It has some of those great old dots and lines that you find on these gilded frames. One of the long outer sides of the frame is darker than the other three sides. It was probably the top side when hanging on the wall. Each of the corners has a partial circular line on it. Antique 19th Century Silver Lemon Gold Gilt Frame 11 X 14 Opening
This is an antique mid to late 19th century silver gold gilt frame. It dates circa 1870s to 1880s. Overall. It measures 13 5/8 inches x 16 3/4 inches(34.6 cm x 42.5 cm) The back opening size is 11 1/8 inches by 14 1/4 inches(28.3 cm x 36.2 cm) The molding width measures 1 1/2 inches(3.8 cm) This was a lemon gold gilt frame that had been painted over and was professionally stripped. The frame has some tiny chips along parts of the site edge. But they're not very noticeable. Each corner has a tiny chip. There is a chip measuring approximately 1/4 inch(64 cm) around on one of the short sides. Just next to the chip is a 1 inch x 1/4 inch(2.54 cm x.64 cm) repair, where someone put in some filler many years ago. Across from it on the other short side is an unusual small oval dark stain measuring 5/8 inch x 1/4 inch(1.6 cm x.64 cm) The frame ... moreis very slightly loose but still sturdy. It has those great old lines and dots found in these old gilded frames. You can even see the lines of gilding that were laid on the wood. There is no glass. This is an antique mid 19th century lemon gold gilded reeded deep cove stenciled frame. It dates approximately 1860s to 1870s. Overall. It measures 19 inches x 15 inches(48.3 cm x 38.1 cm) The back opening size is 14 1/8 inches by 10 1/8 inches(35.9 cm x 25.7 cm) The molding measures 2 3/4 inches wide(7 cm) It's a very thick frame at 2 1/2 inches(6.34 cm) The frame has the great age-related marks that develop over the years on these frames. It's made with old square cut nails. There is no glass. The finish has been lightly touched up along one of the short sides where there are a few tiny nicks and very lightly along one of the long sides(please see photos) It has a light chip in three of the corners. Antique EASTLAKE Ebonized & Lemon Gold Gilt Deep PICTURE FRAME 8x10 w Carving
Up for sale is this circa 1870 Eastlake style frame with original ebonized gesso on wood finish with delicate intaglio carved corner details. I especially like the potted plant at lower left. The frame features bright(fly-specked) lemon gold accent on both the outer and inner edges of the frame. Nicley offsetting the ebony. The ebonized finish has a few chips and scratches. And the top section has a brown tint to it(might be able to be cleaned, but I did not want to try) The lemon gold is in very good. Aged condition with a nice patina. Its outer dimensions are 13” x 15” And the rabbet is 8” x 10” The molding is about 3” wide and 1 5/8” deep, and has some rubs and scratches with stable finish. A wonderful. Sturdy frame. Antique Forest Landscape Painting in Outstanding Lemon Gold Hudson River Frame
Antique Landscape Painting. Either British or American. Hudson River Style. Subject is a forest/ vista view. One of the many delightful things about this painting is that there is a tiny brown puppy in the lower right hand side. Even the painting has a brown semi-circle"dome" painted in that mimics the dome of the gilded frame insert. Three letter monogram lower left, obscured by the frame.Frame has square nails and has an old wooden board as backing. The painting if fairly dark, could use a good cleaning, and has a few minor areas of paint loss. Please note that this painting does not sit well in the frame.it's loose and needs to be professionally adhered to the backing. There is also some right on the back of the frame. This is a great lemon gold frame circa 1880's w/original print. It comes w/original wavy glass w/bubbles. This was not a liner but all original frame. Notice the square nails holding the back boards. Here is a gorgeous antique wood and compo picture frame. Circa 1890-1910 time period. It is quite heavy, always a good sign in antique frames, measuring in total size 23 x 29 ins. and inner rabbet insert size 16 1/8 x 22 1/8 ins. A 16 x 20 piece of art will work in here. The molding is about 4 1/2 ins. wide. The inner gilt lemon gold deep cove molding is beautiful, and will shine light onto your artwork. The frame is in fair as is vintage condition with some minor compo/gesso chips. Not many for age, and one is about 4 inches at the top back ridge(unseen from the front) of broken decorative compo that has been painted over gold( I have included that picture in the pics of the frame) There are also surface scrapes at top, unseen, and some on the sides.
