Antique 22" x 17" Dark Black Wood Picture Frame with Gold Leaf Gilt Border 1890
This is one of the most attractive antique frames that I have on ebay right now. It is a simple frame but I find it to be a really beautiful frame. This frame is from around the 1890s and is mostly a dark black with a bright gold leaf inside border. The rabbet measures about 22" x 17" Each side of the frame measures about 1 3/8" wide. On the side of the frame near one of the corners. There is a good sized chip(measuring about 1" x 1/4" and a crack extending from that chip. However, this damage does not effect the structural integrity of the frame and it not visible when the frame is hanging on the wall as it is on the side of the frame. Because you can't see it, I would still say this frame is still in very good condition. This frame is really gorgeous. Antique Eastlake Victorian Black Forest Picture Frame; walnut, old surface
Up for bids we offer this antique. Black Forest, picture frame at no reserve. From the Victorian period, it's made of walnut with a grooved surface and cut and carved corner medalions. The wood still has its original shellac; we cleaned it up but otherwise it's unrestored. The inner frame still has its original plaster and gold leaf paint with only minor aging flaws. The frame's overall measurements are 9 1/2" by 7 3/8" and the opening is 6 1/2" by 4 1/4" It's well-built and still tight and sound. It's right out of an old home where it had been hidden away in the attic for decades. It's in very good, overall condition and is missing only a small pointed piece of one of the corner medalions which doesn't hurt its appearance. From the Victorian period, they are made of black walnut with carved surfaces that resemble crisscrossed tree branches. Each of the frames overall measurements is 10 5/8" by 8 3/8" and each has an opening that is 6 5/8" by 4 3/8" They are well-built and still tight and sound. Both are in very good, overall condition but one does have a 1 inch crack in the glass in the upper right corner and the other is missing a small piece of wood in the back which isn't visible when hanging on a wall. Antique vintage 1920s 1930s era ART DECO silver & black picture frame w/ cupid
For your consideration is this antique Art Deco silver and black frame with a black and white sketch of a cupid. The frame is metal and the"matting" that one sees that is black and silver is painted. I have not attempted to open the back of the frame not wanting to disturb anything inside. The frame itself measures 6" X 8" and the inside measurement for the photo that would show is 3.5 X 5.5 inches. The frame and the paint are in excellent condition with the exception of an extremely small divet in the upper right hand corner of the frame itslef which I have attempted to photograph in the third photo. ANTIQUE Victorian Aesthetic CARVED Black Lacquer Ebony Picture Frame 1800's WOW
This is an Antique Picture Frame. It dates from the mid 1800's and measures 12 3/16ths by 14 3/16ths inches. It is black lacquer over wood with gold gilt. This is frame in frame construction. One wood frame inside another. The outer frames black lacquer is cut or carved to reveal the chalk or plaster underneath that is over the wood. Shown in my photos is a corner view of the construction and a view of each corners hand cut decoration. It has a cheezy 1960's Robert Wood copy print in it, I'm sure you can do better than that! Good condition for its years, but not without minor flaws.

Antique Black Forest Framed Chromo Litho of Baby/Tramp Art/Old Glass
Beautiful Old Print of a Baby in Chair with what appears to be a horn or bagpipes on the back of the chair. This piece is a puzzler as the print looks quite old. The material or paper it is printed on looks to be a canvas type of texture. When using a strong magnifier to look for dot patterns, none is to be seen leading me to believe this is indeed an old print. The colors are quite nice. The glass is old with bubbles and flaws. The Black Forest Frame appears to have been painted brown some time in the past. Small pieces of debris can be seen under the glass, and I have not taken it apart to clean or examine it. The large tacks/nails that are holding the back on look to be old. The back looks as if there is water damage but I believe it to be the grain in the wood. It is certainly a beautiful and interesting piece. Still in lovely condition for a really old piece and still usable shape with just a little TLC. The worst feature on the surface is some tape residue that I did not attempt to remove, It has a blue velvet matt still in it where it looks like a small square picture was attached. the oval wooden backing piece is broken in half. Oval opening is about 5 by 6 inches. With a total size of 8 by 10.5 inches. Antique Victorian Pair Large Oval Black & Gold Wood and Gesso Picture Frames
This is a stunning pair of antique Victorian era oval picture frames that are identical and in very good condition. All of the floral gesso designs on the frame are complete and intact and the wood is excellent. The paint is all intact(a few scratches have been touched up but they blend in well) The black is still glossy and not faded and the areas of floral gesso have gold accents. There is no glass included for either. And the photos that are in the frames are rough. There are screws on the back with wire attached for wall hanging, but the wire will probably need to be tightened or replaced because it seems to be too long. The frame dimensions are 21" W x 25" H. c1820 Early AMERICAN DRY BLACK Pa Folk Primitive FRAKTUR SAMPLER Antique Frame
This is an excellent very early American black painted primitive frame. Hard to date these early styles but my best guess would be late 18th century up until through the first quarter of the 19th century. Earlier than the standard canted molding styles of the currier and ives frames.and similar to the c1800 simple miniature black frames. Beautiful original dry. Crusty black surface with nice patina and minor wear. Flat molding with narrow. Channeled cushion(convex) molded site liner. Pinned corners(typical of Pa construction) with solid lap joints and original hanging loop. Frame measures 14 1/8 x 18 1/8 with an 11 7/8 x 16 rabbet. Found in central Pa. A quality. Offered for auction are these rectangular-oval picture frames with Godey like hand painted fashion prints. Shaped outer framing with inner frame or liner as a flat piece of wood with an oval deeply cut out to form the opening. The four corners of the flat liner have inscribed lines that form scrolls and framing of black lacquering and gilt lines. The inside of the oval opening is deeply recessed with gold gilding. Mats have some foxing and both prints are labelled"La Mode Illustree" Bureaux du Journal 56. Rue Jacob Paris. Also, some illegible signatures on the prints. We are pleased to offer this exceptional. Antique, framed print. The print is signed(picture 5) The subject is an exquisitely executed sketch of a Skye Terrier. The detailing is remarkable and quite realistic. The expression is captivating. The print is framed in the most beautiful manner. The antique French style, wooden frame is large and substantial. It is finished in black with thick, carved wood, acanthus leaf and scroll accents. These accents highlight and practically cover each corner and extend up the sides, top and bottom. They are gold giltwood and are striking against the black. The print has EDIZ P.V. 21 inscribed under the terrier(picture 6) According to a couple of knowledgeable sources. This indicate that this is, in fact, an engraved reprint of an original art. The number 21 indicates the printing was done in 1921. The matte ... moreis also stamped with two insignias(see picture#7) The first is a fleur de lis with a circle around it. In very tiny print within this circle are the the words, Ediz. P.V. Fiorenza" This indicates that the print and matte were done in Italy. The second stamp on the frame is an artist's paint brush surrounded by a rectangle. Inside the rectangle are the words"Coloratura a Mano" and"Originale Ponte Vecchio" According to what I find online, this is the company in Italy that did the printing. This company was in business in the 1920s and the 1930s. This is an exceptional piece. Both in design and in quality. It is simply stunning. It is in very good condition with only minor scuffing to the finish of the frame. It is covered with a black fiber paper on the back which is still in very good condition. This auction is for a lot of 4 Antique/Vintage Black and White prints. Repose. Sarpedon, Love Turns The World At His Caprice, and Romeo and Juliet, Copy Right 1893 by James Leathart. I purchased these at a Estate Auction so I really don't anything about them. The boarders around the prints does have some stains I believe are water damage, the pictures themselves are good. They would look nice framed. The Romeo and Juliet print is 16-1/4 in. long and 12-1/2 in. wide. the other 3 are 15 in. long and 11-1/2 in. wide. Up for auction is a wonderful pair of Victorian black forest carved walnut frames with hand colored French fashion prints that are hand colored. You are buying the frames and the prints are FREE. The outside frame main part measures 13 1/2" x 11 5/8" The image size( glass size) is 7 1/4" x 9 1/4" so the frame is 2 1/8" wide and 2 1/8" deep. The frames have a few chips to the gold gilt as seen in photo. Not anything major at all and still look fine. Selling frames, prints are free. Photos best describe these frames. Offered for auction are these walnut rectangular 4 part picture frames with fancy oval 3 part mat. These are deep dish frames with outer walnut moldings. Next a gilt liner, next a black lacquered chip carved liner, next another broad gilt liner. the mats consist of a grey outer mat with shaped and cut out sides, next a vibrant under mat in a dark red velvet and then an inner liner with gold gilt flecks. Both frames are in great condition with chips, scratches, marks consistent with age. Size, 14 1/2" x 12 1/2" outer, 10" ... morex 8" inner. Includes the glass.
