Ornate Antique Victorian Carved Oak Wood Picture Frame
The outer dimensions of this antique frame are approx. 21 3/4" x 25 3/4" The inside dimensions. What size print will fit, are approx. 14 1/2" x 18 1/2" of course, you could also use a mat) The ornate borders are wood, most of the ones you find have a plaster or gesso that is molded to shape. I would assume that this was not an inexpensive frame in it's day. It is in super condition, with only very slight blemishes- VERY slight. Thanks for viewing this auction.

This is a beautiful Victorian frame. Oval with ornate design all around. Has a 1 1/2" depth. Has a pretty wedding photo in it that looks to be c1910-20. Can be easily replaced. Frame is in good condition. However has a couple of defects, two minor cracks in the wood that have been touched up and don't effect the use of the frame at all, its only on the front layer doesn't go all the way through. I have taken pictures of them close up. Frame measures 10 1/2 x 12 1/2 and the picture is 6 x 8. Very nice piece from the past. TERMS: Payment is due within 3 days from end of Auction. Antique Victorian Fancy Ornate Gold Floral Frame
I am downsizing my frame collection. And listing a few frames I have not found the perfect use for! This is a gorgeous fancy floral frame in extremely nice condition. The overall size is 13 X 15. And it holds an 8 X 10 sized image. The liner and frame measures 2 3/4 inches across, and the frame is just under an inch deep. It has beautiful golden flowers/leaves/vines set over a darker stippled background around the outside edge, and a beautiful bright gold geometric patterned inner liner. It is really stunning. Please see all pictures for style and condition. The corners are nice and tight, and there is very little paint/gesso loss except at the very tips. I was going to put a wedding picture of my grandparents in the frame. Today they brought in this: Set of 3 vintage victorian convex fabric pictures in ornate metal frames The larger of the two of the woman and child measures 6"x 4" and the 2 smaller ones have images of victorian looking women and measure 3-1/2"x 2-1/2" They are fabric and do not have glass over them. The frames are unusual as the tops are turned up. The larger one does have a small pale line in the fabric. Looks to be a flaw in the silk, I think it could easily be retouched. the smaller two have their backs taped on. Which isn't noticable from the front. Featured under the glass is a rectangular photograph lovely young woman in late 1800s or early 1900s clothing and hairstyle. There is a handwritten label on the back which reads"My mother at 18- Mary Ellen Palmer Lind. Wire easel on the back is not original and there is a brass tab missing. Outside edge of frame measures about 2&5/8" wide by 4&3/8" long, including the ornate decoration at the top. This is a very haunting picture of a plain victorian woman. I think its a hand tinted photograph of some kind but i'm really not sure. The pose is formal and her expression is truly somber. The brooch at her throat is very nice. The carved wooden frame is possibly Eastlake? It is very ornate it has a carved floral motif that has bits of color in the flowers and leaves. There are also areas of heavy gilt. There is some damage to the frame, it has some cracks in the wood but is all together. The backing is intact. 21&3/4"L x 12&1/2"W.

I am not an expert of art. But, I would date this print and frame to the late 19th or perhaps the early 20th century. The frame is lovely with deep well effect. There is one area on the bottom where some of the gold has chipped off, very small and hard to see as someone tried to cover it. This could easily be repaired and covered. The original back has been replaced. The print is lovely of a little bright eyed girl in what appears to be Victorian dress and hat. Overall measures 25 1/2" tall by 19 1/4" wide and 2 1/2" deep. The pattern and design work is exquisite. There is a beautiful patina to the gilt. There is very little damage to this intricate frame. These typically incur lots of damage over their 100 plus years of existence. There are some minor chips and perhaps small touch up but the piece is roughly 98% original and untouched. It comes with a picture light that was added at a later date. The brassed light has a nice patina that blends nicely with the frame. The light works just fine. Gorgeous! Antique Carved Ornate Victorian Frame 16 x 20
Don't pass this one up! A gorgeous. Ornate picture frame from the Victorian era, in fantastic condition. Beautifully made, this wood frame has very elaborate carved flowers and scrolls decorating the corners and center parts of the frame. There are a few very small, minor losses to the frame and I have taken photos of those. This is a solid frame and is in excellent condition for its' age. The frame will fit a work of art that is 16 x 20. The overall size of the frame is 20 x 24. The reverse side of the frame has an old cotton cord still attached and has some old pieces of backing paper on the edges. Frame does not have any glass or backing board. Gesso Gold Ornate Victorian Picture Frame Glass 1909 Blue Anchor Inn Print
This is a framed old print. Copyright 1909 by Frank W. Williams of the"Blue Anchor Inn behind glass. The stunning antique Victorian frame has the original gold paint with raised gesso detailing. It has a nice curvy shape and pretty sprays of Lillie's on all four sides with lots of other gesso details. It is in very good condition with expected wear. There is some missing gesso and hairline cracks. There is some missing wood pieces on the back and some of the veneer in the back has separated. One eyelet does not grip the wood anymore and will need to be moved for hanging. The print is covered with cardboard and held in by old nails. There is no damage to the print as far as I can see except for some dirt/marks. We are selling this framed print as found, in it's original state except for a light dusting. Cast iron picture frame. Ornate oval, with swivel easel back. Holds 8" x 6" photograph or mirror, Victorian era. Sits on darling legs. And has a beaded inner border, a floral swag border, then the ornate, open scrollwork. Missing two of the three swivel clasps that hold the photograph in place. Here is a very impressive looking standing cast iron frame in Victorian design. I t shows plenty of Vert de Gris. Adding interest to the design. Victorian BLACK WOOD FRAME with Oval Matting - Very Ornate
Purchased recently at a sale in Indiana. This 19thC Antique Victorian Large Wood Frame accented with Gesso around the outside edge. Around the center glass opening and also in all four corners. I would date this frame around the mid to late 1800's. A frame of this age you would expect to have some damage. The only damage is there are missing pieces of the ornate detail work around the outside edge. The frame gesso does have some damage. Some of the ornate detailed work has come off over time so please view the photos for a look at the condition. The area around the oval glass is fine as well as the four corner detail work. The only spots are 4 small 1/2" areas(two on each left and right sides) that the detail work has come off. Really not noticeable considering the amount of detail around the whole frame. Measurements are top to ... morebottom 25 1/2" Left to right 21 1/2" Oval glass is 18 7/8" by 15" and the inside measurements of the matting are 13" by 10" The backing has the original cardboard and is being held in place by an old South Bend measuring yardstick with nails. Large Pair of Ornate Antique Victorian Gold Gesso Frames Painting Picture Mirror
Up for sale is a Ornate pair of Antique Victorian Gesso on Giltwood frames. These frames were likely manufactured between 1870 and 1890. The gesso paint appears to be all original. These frames are in great and hangable condition. There is some very light age appropriate wear. And one spot(pictured) of gesso loss that is easily repairable and difficult to notice. These frame are meant to hold a 20x24" piece.The back opening is exactly 20 1/4 by 24 1/4 inches with a 1/8" lip all the way around the inside on which the picture or mirror can rest. MUSEUM QUALITY FRAME AND PHOTOGRAPH Late 19TH Century Victorian Woman Photograph. Framed, Under Glass The wooden frame is an exceptional Victorian Piece. The frame is oval. The sight area of the photograph is 19 inches by 15 inches. The frame is 25 inches by 21 inches. Bordering the photograph. The Sight Edge is comprised of wooden beaded molding, each about 1/16 of an inch in width. The beads are wood, and not plaster. The frieze between the sight edge and the back edge is wood- the wood grain is easily seen. Along the back edge is additional and very ornate molding. Roughly 1/2 inch in width, also entirely of carved wood- No plaster! Some of the molding is missing from the frame. Please study the photographs before you bid. But even with the missing areas.
