Fading along a strip at the top of the back of the sofa(see pic 5) There is soiling underneath the cushions on the material near the label(see pic 3) There are marks and claw marks along the cushions(see pics 4.6& 7 for examples) The lounge chair does not have the label. For your consideration is this George Nelson design sofa for Herman Miller. It is their Steel Frame line and this one features a 3 cushion design with an attached end table. It measures just shy of 8' long overall and 28" tall at the back. It is 26" deep overall with a seat height of about 16" The attached white laminate table measures 24x24" While I have no doubt the sofa is as described. It would appear that this one is unsigned. It does show an identifying mark from Northern Illinois University. It is a strikingly modern design that is long and low, very much in keeping with the mid-century aesthetic. Sleek and sophisticated armless sofa designed by Harvey Probber. This sofa is upholstered in top quality glove-soft black leather with a slim brass frame and legs. Red piping and button tufting complete the classic look. It has 3 loose down-filled back cushions for added comfort and the tufted seat cushion is reversible. Extremely sturdy and well made. Exceptional quality. This came from the office of Mitch Leigh, best known as the composer of the music for Man of La Mancha, and it still retains his customer name along with the Harvey Probber label. DIMENSIONS 79" long by 26 1/2" high by 32 1/2" deep. The seat height is 16" CONDITION Excellent vintage condition. Very clean with light normal wear. The leather upholstery is in excellent condition with no rips or tears. The leather is very soft and supple with a few very ... moresmall scuffs, including one on the back which is not visible when the cushions are in place. One of the tufting buttons towards the back of seat the cushion is missing. It isn't visible with the back cushions in place, or the cushion can be reversed and placed with that side down. There are very tiny holes along the edge on one side of the seat cushion, they look original to the piece and may be there for ventilation. When placed with that side towards the back, it's not seen. The brass is in very good vintage condition with some light tarnish and some scuffs. The majority of this should go away with a polish. We started to polish a section on the right front leg and thought that it might be too bright, so will leave this up to the new owner to decide. The front legs have the original adjustable foot levelers, the levelers on the back are replacements. see pictures) None of this detracts from the overall appearance which is fantastic! This rosewood case settee by Milo Baughman is in good vintage condition. Rare to see this design in rosewood. The wood is book matched& it's in excellent condition except for a few small nicks on the bottom backside(last picture shows this) They are hardly noticeable& would be easy to patch. The foam on the sofa is still nice& soft. The original fabric is in good condition. Free of any tears. Stains or bad odors with only some loose ends throughout the embroidery. This auction is for a 1950's Vintage Mid-Century Retro Floral Green Couch and Chair that has been recovered in the 1960's. The color just pops off of the couch and chair. There are springs in the cushions. As well as, int he couch for better bounce. It has been been steamed cleaned by a professional the chair and the couch both just a few weeks ago. The couch underneath has a small rip in the black see through fabric. Please see pictures. One of the four metal bars has come loose and the black see through fabric will have to be pulled away in that area to tighten the bar back in place. They made things well years ago. There is a small worn area on the corner of one of the cushions on the couch but hard to see. When you remove the couch cushions you will see a stained area. Oxi clean can probably get that out. Fresh out of a smoke free estate, the couch and chairs look great and feel great as well, I am not into this style of furniture(we normally buy primitives for our store) but when we seen this on a house call me and my wife knew we had to buy it, all three items are in excellent condition, no staining at all that we can see, no rips or tears either( I can see only one pinky size tear in the webbing underneath one chair) some of the legs have tape brown electric style tape wrapped around them I didn't take this off I think this was done to protect them from scuffing. The legs are slanted and they are all very tight, no wobbling. The cushions on the couch are the same design front and back while the chair cushions have the same green look on one ... moreside and on the other it has a 1960's patio furniture floral design(it is a cloth style fabric) the items all have a maker badge of"International" We had sold this couch a few hours initially after listing it last week, the man who had bought it realized it was not going to fit down the hallway of his apartment, so here it is again for sale. Update to comments in RED.I've since disassembled this end of the sofa and found at some point someone glued these pieces together causing the separation(I think it was dong long ago as the glue was old and dried out)I(carefully) disassembled this end and removed the old glue. Then reassembled it. So now the gaps are much tighter and it looks better. I did notice that some glue had gotten on to the finish and so add that to the list of scratches, etc. that you may want to remove.I didn't attempt it. Domino Mobler sofa. In very good condition considering its age and use.is approx. 72" wide x 30" tall x 30" deep. The fabric(wool. I believe) is in great condition with very little wear at all, no stains, tears or bad smells.one cushion has original tag attached and I have no reason to believe the upholstery has ever been ... morereplaced. Oatmeal color with a nubby texture, and since it's wool, yes, it's a bit scratchy.so if you're sensitive to that please don't buy a wool sofa! Appears to be a nice, heavy fabric that will wear well. There are a few"pulls" in the fabric but they are minor and hard to see within it's texture. The area around the screws that attach the cushions to the frame are a bit worn and dirty. I do not know if this sofa has been in a smoking enviornment, it doesn't smell like smoke. I do have cats but they have not been on the sofa ever, I do not know if the sofa previously ever had pets on or around it. The wood frame(teak) is in good-very good condition. The finish is in good shape with no discernible fading. There are scratches, most of them pictured, in the following locations: base of the legs has the worst scuffs/scratches/marks(i.e. old paint bits) including some that are quite long. Some of this may be surface and removable, I've made no attempt to clean or refinish the wood. There is a small nick/scratch on top of one arm, pictured.
