This listing is for a mid-century. Vintage couch or sofa. Brand is A. Brandt Ranch Oak. It is so sturdy and well-made! It has the original fabric covering, which a blue/cream/ombre stripe style, please view photos. The photo of the back of the couch shows some yellow, but that is just the camera. The fabric looks itchy, but it is not. The cushions could use a good steam cleaning, to brighten, as the back of the couch looks brighter than the cushions. This well-made couch is so comfortable. It is sturdy, but easily moved, even on carpeting, as it has 4 rollers underneath. The sides of the couch are interesting with lattice-style design sides. Parts of the black covering on the bottom of the couch has ripped away from the staples, but we reattached some of it, but could use a few more staples to hold the black fabric more securely. The sofa is authentically styled light and lean perfect for a small/large apartment/home living room, den, or study. This sofa has seen light use and was recently cleaned. The steel frame was recently polished and re-sealed and both wooden armrest have been stripped and refinished in a beautiful warm teak color. Brandt Ranch Oak Sofa Couch 100% Original, 6 Turquoise Heavy Spring Cushions
This is the real McCoy. The Genuine Article. The iconic and highly-sought after Brandt Ranch Oak solid oak frame, spring loaded sofa/ couch with all six original Turquoise spring-loaded, heavy cotton-batting padded cushions. This fine piece of classic 1950's furniture is in need of some restoration in order to bring it back to showroom condition. But is perfectly useable now as a rustic piece of functional furniture. The 6 original sofa cushions are still extremely strong structurally. They are spring loaded with heavy cotton batting that never breaks down over time, like contemporary furniture filler. Each cushion is about three or four times as heavy as a standard cushion, and still feels very supportive when you sit on, or rest against, each one. But their are chips and rips in the Naugahyde, and in order to be brought back to pristine, ... morethe cushions will need to be recovered. If you are facing the couch. The left hand side rear-back-side brace(the piece that is the edge of the back and also the piece that the left arm attaches to) has a small chip roughly an inch long in the wood. I have taken a close-up photograph of this in the photo gallery. Underneath the left arm, someone has re-glued the arm, probably to restore a tight joint fit. The joint is indeed tight, but a little trickle of dried glue is evident. Finally, while all the springs underneath have tremendous strength and buoyancy remaining, two of the clips that hold the many springs in place have come loose, and the springs will need to be re-clipped for those springs to work properly. As I am sure any prospective buyer of this piece knows. Up for sale is a very nice Stickley love seat. I believe the model is 89-9234. The wood is oak and the finish is Onondaga# 32. The length is 64” long. 37” deep and 29” tall. The fabric is in excellent condition with no rip or tears. The wood finish is very nice with slight wear at the hand resting points, not bad, just not like brand new. from a non-smoking home. This couch was also professionally cleaned 1 ½ years ago when I got it from a consignment store. Stickley is very well built and very heavy for the size. We are moving furniture around and no longer need this so I thought I would give it a try on ebay.
