20th Century 800 German Silver Pierced Picture Frame
This German 800/1000 silver picture frame has a pierced frame and a wooden back panel and stand. The frame is marked 800 and there is a hallmark that is half visible that appears to read" 193FI" but we are not sure. Picture size is 3.5" Wide and 5" High. Measurements: The frame is 7& 5/8" tall and 6" wide Condition: The silver frame is in fine conditon except for the top of the wooden back panel that has some breaks on the top two corners. see photo 3 and 40 These breaks do not hinder the back panel from holding a picture in the frame. Also. The glass that fits into the frame has chips on its corners but they in no way weaken the glass and are not visible when the glass is inserted into the frame.

The frame is squared with flared ends. It features a large, round center opening for a picture or mirror. The patterning consists of ornate scrolling and acanthus leaf accents at each corner. There is a beautiful lined, incised design as well as a raised floral border around the center opening. The frame is in very good, antique condition with only minor signs of age/wear. There is very little wear to the gilted finish. There is one minor, hairline crack to one area. It is surface only and does not affect the frame. It is barely noticeable and is not distracting. This is a very rare 19th century lemon gold picture frame with a black border. The rabbet measures approximately 11" x 8 1/2" and each side of this frame is 3 1/2" wide. This frame is very old. I would estimate it to be from the 1870s. The gold leaf paint shows spotting that is probably from oxidization or perhaps moisture. This is a two-piece frame and the black border could be removed. Beautiful layered antique picture frame with faux-marble effect! This was made with 3 separate layers and has a wonderful deep quality that will showcase any photo or artwork that you choose. It is mostly painted in a faded gold paint. With the middle section painted to look like marble in darker browns, reds and orange tones. A lovely unique piece that has a little damage all around but could be fixed with some touching up. This is a solid piece and is still tightly held together. The glass portion measures approximately 11 inches by almost 14 inches. There is a wire attached to the back for hanging. Overall this frame is pretty good condition with most of that gesso in tact. However it does show signs of age and wear. There are some small cracks in the gesso And some old green paint along the top. The glass does have one scratch. There os a picture. Antique Gilded 19th Century APC Bonte Wood Picture Frame with Picture
This approx. 14" x 12" antique. Oval, gilded wood picture frame with gesso ornaments, was hand made in the"FRAMES and LOOKING GLASSES" workshop of APC Bonte in Cincinnati, Ohio in the second half of the nineteenth century. Part of the original label is still can be seen on the back. I do not know if the picture of a mother and her son in the 9 1/2" opening is also a period antique, but I am positive that the black touch-ups on it were not made by Photoshop or Corel Draw. The frame and the picture is in very good to excellent condition, but the gesso decoration was shaved off from the outer rim of the frame for some times ago. Vintage celluloid or Bakelite mid-century picture frame & photo of older couple
Up for sale is a vintage celluloid or Bakelite picture frame. It is clear. But somewhat yellowed, which is apparently typical of the material. It has nice detail and holds an 8 x 10 picture. The bottom corner pieces on the back are removable to allow the backing to be removed. These pieces had a partial patent number. So I was able to find that this frame was patented in 1950. I will enclose the printout that I got from the US Patent Office. The frame was in an old trunk so it is a bit dirty. But I did not want to try to clean it…I will leave that to the buyer. I am also leaving the photo inside. Unless the buyer includes a note with their purchase in shipping instructions that they do not want the photo. Most of my items are pre-owned. I try to describe them accurately and show flaws in the pictures. But. Due to camera limitations, I may ... moremiss some minor flaws. Super 19th century marbelized outer-inner picture frame--black trim--nice size
You are looking at a beautiful Victorian marbelized picture in the tan tones with black outline-as you can see from photos there are a couple of areas taht need a touch-up but guess that is to be expected after 140 years or so.all in all it's really in excellent shape. Super 19th century marbelized outer-inner picture frame--black trim--#2 larger
This is the larger of the two Victorian marbelized frames that I have listed this week-this one is 12x14 1/4 outer and 8 by 10 inner area. The frame is Victorian and about 150 years old and does in fact have some minor damage-note in the photos the areas that need restoration-could easily beused as is however. Both frames came out of a hill area house in Burlington Vermont where I attended an on site auction earlier in the year. I will be listing a few more frames from that estate next week. Vintage Whitewashed Wormy Chestnut Picture Frame, Mid Century, 60's Era, Pickled
Very stylish 60's era vintage white-washed wormy chestnut picture frame. This frame has a painted lip that angles towards the rabbet from a high point. And sweeps back towards the outside with a gentle curve. The rabbet size is 14 1/ 8" X 20 1/8" With an outside dimension of 16 1/2" X 22 1/2" The moulding is 1 1/2" wide. The rabbet depth is 7/16" The sight size is about 13 1/2" X 19 1/2" Frame has a nice. Even wash. O n the bottom rail. The white has worn off just a bit. The frame is in good condition overall. There are a few small chips on the bottom two corners. Don't have close-ups of those, but I think you can see what I mean in the first photo. Two of the corners on the right side are a bit open, but the frame is still solid. It sits flat, it's not warped. No glass, but I'll send ... morealong new screw eyes and wire as these look a bit rusty. Frame would be great for a print or watercolor. Thanks for taking a look.
