VERY RARE Antique Vintage Victorian Silver Thimble Etui cut glass scent bottle
Incredible silver Thimble forming a case(étui) discretely hiding a miniature cut glass bottle to hold scent or perfume. To perhaps refresh the'Lady' while sewing? There are no hallmarks that I can see but a Jeweller has assured me it is solid Silver. Similarly there is no size marked on the Thimble- Measurements: Diameter base thimble 1.6cms Diameter base etui 1.8cms Diameter crown of Thimble 1.2cms Height thimble 2.5cms Height étui 3.5cms The Thimble& Etui are in Excellent condition. Just the silver could do with some polishing, but I would rather leave that to the'experts' See the pretty engraved pattern around the center of the Thimble with also a'shield' engraved ready for initials! The Thimble screws onto the base holding the scent bottle. This screw works perfectly. The indentations on the base ... moreof the Etui I feel sure are there for a reason. But I have found no information about them. The Miniature cut glass bottle has 9 facets with more. Even smaller, shoulder' facets. The stopper is in perfect condition and if you look closely you will see a pattern built into the top from air bubbles. I presume. The lower part of the stopper has been ground so as to fit well. Antique 19th Century MISSION Victorian Brass & Cut Glass OIL LAMP Font NICE
I was told this is an antique whale oil lamp font. It looks like one of those old french oil lamps to me. I'm not a lamp expert! It measures 5" tall from where the burner screws on to the bottom. It is 3 1/2" diameter across the bottom. The brass and the glass are quite heavy and the diamond pattern has been cut into the glass. Not pressed. The glass is perfect with no cracks or chips or scratches. The brass has some tarnish on it, but hey, it's old. The part that the burner screws onto is exactly 1" outside diameter. It has 2 numbers on the glass on the bottom, or a symbol and a number. The first number or symbol is unreadable because the glass design cuts into it. Victorian Antique Cut Glass DISH BOWL on footed stem. Pickles, Sweetmeat. vgc
A large and substantial, 19th century cut glass bowl on heavy foot and stem. This is an individually mouth-blown. Handmade piece. A stunning centrepiece. Possibly intended for pickles or sweetmeats. Over-large for an individual bowl. Could be used as a rose bowl. Would make a great addition to a Victorian glass collection! The base and stem are plain; the bowl is of clear glass. With deep cutting in a simple style. Ovals and narrow leaf-shapes. The bowl and the foot ha ve been joined at either end of the stem. All the glass is of a substantial thickness. Appropriate to the size of the item. There are one or two very tiny bubbles in the glass, and a larger one. Just off-centre, in the base which can be seen looking down through the stem. The bowl is certainly hand-made and has som e age to it. There is a realistic amount of very fine grazing ... morearound the edge of the base. A great piece to acquire for a 19th century collection. Antique Stained Glass, Cobalt Cut to Clear, Boston Trolley Window Pane
This framed pane of stained glass measures 6 5/8 inches by 5 1/4 inches. The simple painted wooden frame has a tiny metal ring affixed at the top to allow the pane to be hung up. The glass is cobalt blue. Cut to clear in the design of a harp with flowers and vines. We were told that this pane of glass once decorated a 19th century Boston Trolley car. The condition is excellent. There are no chips or cracks. The cuts made by the glazier to reveal the pattern can be felt on the reverse. The front of the pane is smooth. It is unsigned. The slender frame appears to be circa 1900. The mid-19th century pane has numerous tiny imperfections such as bubbles and stretch marks often seen in antique glass. For auction this stunning antique Victorian Art Nouveau Aesthetic Movement Silver Plate& Cut-Glass Claret Jug Decanter- c 1860- 1890. Super fine workmanship and a beautiful Claret Jug Decanter with top quality well executed decoration. Hand Blown glass body with fine quality wheel-cut cross-hatch decoration and a silver plated britannia metal spout. Collar, handle and belt. Very much in the Victorian Aesthetic Movement style, with stylised double branched bamboo handle and waist ring, bright-cut floral aesthetic collar decoration, triple scalloped shell finial and dome lid and fan shell pouring spout. The claret jug decanter is in general good antique condition. Commensurate with materials, great age and use.clean& bright. The cut-glass body is quite clean and bright with just very minor light residue within the jug. The cut-glass ... moredecoration is crisp and clear with only minor light wear and tiny marks. The only real issue worth noting is one 1/2in(1.3cm) chip to the lower base rim edge, please see the very close-up photograph. The spout. Collar, handle and mount have no damage with a super antique patina, the silver plate has all but gone and rubbed away leaving a super Britannia Metal antique pewter patina. Estate Find ~ Antique Cut Glass Syrup Pitcher
Please scan below description to read shipping fees/details ~ thanks Light up your table with this lovely antique cut glass syrup jug measuring approx. 3-1/4" highest x 3-1/2" widest across the front including the handle. The cut glass portion itself is 3-1/8" wide. The cut design is almost pineapple like. I am not an expert on glass or other items we sell but I will describe what I see when I look at the item and you can follow along with the photos provided. The cover raises with minimal thumb pressure to the little tab on top. This is a cute piece to spice up your breakfast or brunch party! Condition: There are NO cracks. NO chips, there is shelf wear to the botton of the jug from rubbing on shelf or table over the years. It looks like the cut glass was actually hand cut because there are a couple tiny spots where the cutter ... moremissed his mark and started again. I assume the handle and lid piece is Silverplate? It is unpolished and may have wear but has a soft pewter color as I see it. There are no markings on the glass for maker or on the silver area. Cut glass bell has a flared rim and facet cut prism style handle. All three knife rests are in mint condition and measure 3-1/2 inches long. The largest one measures 1-1/2 inches tall and the other two measure around 1-1/8 inches in height. Large knife rest is cut all over and attributed to Pitkins& Brooks. Smaller knife rests are pressed glass with cut highlights on the ends. Bell measures 5-5/8 inches tall overall with a 2-5/8 inch diameter rim. Antique Victorian Cut Creamer/Milk Jug; Lotus/Water Lily Flower Covering all Jug
This is a lovely cut glass creamer or milk jug. It is deeply cut. Showing a water lily or lotus flower. The design starts from the centre of the base and continues up the sides. The pouring lip has pattern of seven cuts underneath it. The cut'leaves' of the flowers have not been polished after cutting to highlight them and the centre of the flower is a small star. The handle has been flatten during formation, which allows the creamer to be turned upside down with some degree of stability, presumably to assist in draining. It is not marked to denote it's origin, but I think it is English and produced at the turn of the 19th/20th century. The creamer is generally in good condition. There is some wear on the base and a few nibbles under the lip. But unfortunately a large crack around the handle. Because of the cutting. I did not ... morenotice it for some months after purchase. The creamer weighs about 395 grams and is approximately 13 cm in length. Because of the large weight of this item; If somebody outside of mainland UK wishes to bid. 19th C. Antique Cut Glass Crystal Prisms Gold Gilt Mantle Lusters Moser? Czech?
Large at 10 1/2" Tall x 4 1/2" Wide. These are extremely high quality lusters and get lots of compliments from all who see them and know good antique glass. They are not signed. But I believe they are circa 1860-1890 Moser. Or a similar high quality European firm of that period. Clear, and Cut to Clear. Excellent Condition. No chips or damage to the actual mantle luster's body. Other than some areas of the gold being lightly worn in spots, but most of the heavy gold is perfect and intact. 18 of the 20 prisms are magnificent and I believe original. Very good quality, made between about 1870 and 1900 Size: 11 1/2 inches high- about 29 cm Weight: 1269 grammes Condition: very good. No major damage, there are a couple of little nicks on teh edge of teh rim and a couple of tiny bruises on teh body- these are not obvious. There is light wear on the base. It is not cloudy inside, but has some white residue in the bottom- I haven't tried cleaning this. see the photos. A set of 6 Victorian Cut Stem Sherry/Liqueur Drinking Glasses Antique circa 1860
A set of six mid to late 19th century drinking glasses. At their size they would have been used for sherry or similar strong wines and would also make good liqueur glasses. The glasses have cup shaped bowls which are cut with broad flutes to the lower section. The stems are hollow blown and cut and the feet have ground and polished pontils. They are made in good quality lead glass. These glasses are fine to use today and would make an interesting talking point at the dinner table.
