In my opinion a very fine. Antiaue late 19thc, late Victorian, Bristol blue Hyacinth bulb vase! The glass is in good order. There is an expected amount of age associated wear and tear. Few manufacture air bubbles: chip, crack and damage free. Height of the glass is 6.15 inches. Bowl diameter is at 4.5 inches, and rim diameter is at 2.5 inches! Owned from the late 1990's. Heat treated pontil to base. Blown into a mould and then hand finished. Nice shape and moulding would make a lovely addition to any bulb vase collection or interior. 99p start and no reserve! When they were at their most popular. At this time, demand for Vaseline glass was at its highest. This one has all the attributes, and glows green under a UV(black) light, indicating the(harmless) presence of uranium salts in the glass mix. While a maker cannot be firmly attributed. It is quite probably English, from one of the top Stourbridge makers, possibly Stuart& Sons. Richardson or Thomas Webb when this style of vase was in vogue. This vase was hand-blown into a mould with optical ribs applied internally. The base features a slight'kick' indent) Which is also indicative of 19th century make and there is also a pontil ... morescar from where the pontil rod was snapped off to complete the manufacture of it. It is not marked and I have been unable to locate the manufacture. The only other one I located on the Internet in this shape was here on eBay and it was not identified as to maker. It is about 7 3/8" tall and 5" across at the widest point. There are normal usage marks but nothing that takes away from the integrity or loveliness of this wonderful and decorative vase. Deep amethyst glass of bulbous shape with light spiralling rib-moulded effect and sand pontil. Item remains in very nice. Clean, original condition with no damage or notable wear. Exterior surface has a very fine pitted texture, most likely caused by the technique of manufacture, but this is quite discreet and acceptable in my opinion.
