ANTIQUE SILVERPLATED PICKLE CASTOR Pressed Glass Jar "Diamond Block" VICTORIAN
Antique. Victorian era, pressed glass pickle jar is in a silverplated holder with it's matching lid. It stands approximately 10" tall x 4 1/4" wide. The jar fits a 3 1/4" lid. There are no tongs. It is marked on the bottom with a number: 2360. Etched 89 h also is on the bottom which might date it to 1889. Which would be about right. The jar is a nice pressed glass pattern made in 1894 by Duncan& Co. of Pennsylvania called PANELLED DIAMOND BLOCK. It is in very good condition without any chips. Cracks, or repairs. Very pretty and a nice antique pickle jar with it's silverplated holder and lid. Please view my other auctions for more collectibles. Antiques, and jewelry. VERY RARE Antique Vintage Victorian Silver Thimble Etui cut glass scent bottle
Incredible silver Thimble forming a case(étui) discretely hiding a miniature cut glass bottle to hold scent or perfume. To perhaps refresh the'Lady' while sewing? There are no hallmarks that I can see but a Jeweller has assured me it is solid Silver. Similarly there is no size marked on the Thimble- Measurements: Diameter base thimble 1.6cms Diameter base etui 1.8cms Diameter crown of Thimble 1.2cms Height thimble 2.5cms Height étui 3.5cms The Thimble& Etui are in Excellent condition. Just the silver could do with some polishing, but I would rather leave that to the'experts' See the pretty engraved pattern around the center of the Thimble with also a'shield' engraved ready for initials! The Thimble screws onto the base holding the scent bottle. This screw works perfectly. The indentations on the base ... moreof the Etui I feel sure are there for a reason. But I have found no information about them. The Miniature cut glass bottle has 9 facets with more. Even smaller, shoulder' facets. The stopper is in perfect condition and if you look closely you will see a pattern built into the top from air bubbles. I presume. The lower part of the stopper has been ground so as to fit well. Antique 19th Century MISSION Victorian Brass & Cut Glass OIL LAMP Font NICE
I was told this is an antique whale oil lamp font. It looks like one of those old french oil lamps to me. I'm not a lamp expert! It measures 5" tall from where the burner screws on to the bottom. It is 3 1/2" diameter across the bottom. The brass and the glass are quite heavy and the diamond pattern has been cut into the glass. Not pressed. The glass is perfect with no cracks or chips or scratches. The brass has some tarnish on it, but hey, it's old. The part that the burner screws onto is exactly 1" outside diameter. It has 2 numbers on the glass on the bottom, or a symbol and a number. The first number or symbol is unreadable because the glass design cuts into it. This decanter measures 258 mm in height and 83 mm in width. It weighs 333 grams. Gorgeous true-antique. Opalescent, milk glass dresser box for jewelry came from a great-aunt's estate. It is an ornate Victorian oval decorated with flowers and roses on the box and the lid. When the lid is held to the light, the edges glow red and orange. You can see the opalescence in photo 2) The bottom shows a lovely'swirl' of caramel color in the milk glass. The box measures six inches long, 2 3/4 inches wide and 2 1/4 inches high. The lid is slightly domed) The edges of the bottom rim are rough and glassy, but this is due to the way it was made, not because it is chipped. Description: This early American pressed glass sugar. Icicle pattern, is approx. 4 ¼” high x 3 ½” wide. There is no maker’s mark but this was part of an estate collection and guaranteed to be old. The piece has typical edge roughness with a tiny pencil tip flake. A ¼” fine line on the bottom rim(can be seen in photo) and a flake from the bottom rim edge. Antique Victorian Bohemian Peach OPALESCENT Art Glass Basket / 9.5" - Kralik era
Antique Bohemian Victorian Basket Basket is blown peachy orange and opalescent glass with a pressed multi rib pattern. Handle is crystal and has a twisted shape with a few pinched thorns. Polished pontil in center of the base. No chips. Hairline breaks, mineral deposit. Displays nice. Measurements: 7" tall and 9-1/2" diameter rim and the applied base is 3-3/4" diameters. Not marked. A beautiful early moser glass hinged box. A brilliant cobalt blue glass with hand painted gold gilt raised enameled design. It is round in shape with a clear beveled edge glass lid. The box is sitting on three decorative brass ormolu legs. The box is dated to the victorian era, late 1800's. It is a nice size measuring 4" high by just shy of 4" wide. Antique Victorian Cranberry Glass Bowl / Basket in Brass Holder
This is a more unusual piece of Cranberry. Which comes in two parts: a red glass bowl and a brass basket in which the bowl sits. The bowl has an upper diameter of 10.6cm and is 6.8cm high. You can see that the glass is mouth-blown from the small bubble enclosures and impurities. The glass is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The bowl is made of a network of brass acorns and oak leafs with a hinged handle on the top. It stands on three legs, and with the handle in its upright position the basket is ca. 16cm high. The metal was once silvered, but the plating has all but worn off. Up for your consideration is this scarce Victorian Wax Valentine. The piece depicts Little Red riding Hood and the Wolf and was lovingly put together. The dome is blown glass and Red Riding Hood and the Wolf are both hand painted. There are cloth flowers and leaves with a natural sprig of grass. The base is made of a stiff card board material. The feet are made of some type of ceramic material and one foot is missing. There is tape holding the base to the glass dome and another piece of tap e on the bottom that reads"Grandma Moore had this on her dresser" I believe these were made in Germany.Red Riding Hood is also missing her forearm. ANTIQUE c1870's VICTORIAN ENAMELLED OPALINE GLASS VASE HARRACH ?
Description This antique circa 1870's Victorian Opaline glass vase of pale opaque buff colour. Has a rich red amber colour when held to a light. It is hand blown of rounded body shape with waisted flaring neck and ball above the stepped shoulder with opaque enamelled flowers and foliage. This nice little vase, ideal for wild and delicate garden flowers, has a ground and polished rim and no pontil mark. It is in good condition apart from the gilded rim is very worn with only traces left and there are a couple of little nicks which were done when the rim was cast and polished. Height 16.6cm. Victorian Antique Cut Glass DISH BOWL on footed stem. Pickles, Sweetmeat. vgc
A large and substantial, 19th century cut glass bowl on heavy foot and stem. This is an individually mouth-blown. Handmade piece. A stunning centrepiece. Possibly intended for pickles or sweetmeats. Over-large for an individual bowl. Could be used as a rose bowl. Would make a great addition to a Victorian glass collection! The base and stem are plain; the bowl is of clear glass. With deep cutting in a simple style. Ovals and narrow leaf-shapes. The bowl and the foot ha ve been joined at either end of the stem. All the glass is of a substantial thickness. Appropriate to the size of the item. There are one or two very tiny bubbles in the glass, and a larger one. Just off-centre, in the base which can be seen looking down through the stem. The bowl is certainly hand-made and has som e age to it. There is a realistic amount of very fine grazing ... morearound the edge of the base. A great piece to acquire for a 19th century collection. Or simply to use! Measurements: Height 11.5 cm Base diameter 9cm Top diameter 1 1 cm Condition: The bowl is in very good condition. There is a small area(about 1sq.cm) of fine scratches below the lip. Which may have been caused during cutting. Will be packed very carefully for posting! I will combine postage where possible. For auction this stunning antique Victorian Art Nouveau Aesthetic Movement Silver Plate& Cut-Glass Claret Jug Decanter- c 1860- 1890. Super fine workmanship and a beautiful Claret Jug Decanter with top quality well executed decoration. Hand Blown glass body with fine quality wheel-cut cross-hatch decoration and a silver plated britannia metal spout. Collar, handle and belt. Very much in the Victorian Aesthetic Movement style, with stylised double branched bamboo handle and waist ring, bright-cut floral aesthetic collar decoration, triple scalloped shell finial and dome lid and fan shell pouring spout. The claret jug decanter is in general good antique condition. Commensurate with materials, great age and use.clean& bright. The cut-glass body is quite clean and bright with just very minor light residue within the jug. The cut-glass ... moredecoration is crisp and clear with only minor light wear and tiny marks. The only real issue worth noting is one 1/2in(1.3cm) chip to the lower base rim edge, please see the very close-up photograph. The spout. Collar, handle and mount have no damage with a super antique patina, the silver plate has all but gone and rubbed away leaving a super Britannia Metal antique pewter patina.
