Antique 22" x 17" Dark Black Wood Picture Frame with Gold Leaf Gilt Border 1890
This is one of the most attractive antique frames that I have on ebay right now. It is a simple frame but I find it to be a really beautiful frame. This frame is from around the 1890s and is mostly a dark black with a bright gold leaf inside border. The rabbet measures about 22" x 17" Each side of the frame measures about 1 3/8" wide. On the side of the frame near one of the corners. There is a good sized chip(measuring about 1" x 1/4" and a crack extending from that chip. However, this damage does not effect the structural integrity of the frame and it not visible when the frame is hanging on the wall as it is on the side of the frame. Because you can't see it, I would still say this frame is still in very good condition. This frame is really gorgeous. The deep dark outside border really highlights the lemon ... moregold inside border. It's a great frame! Shipping is $20 within the continental United States. No international shipping. Antique Eastlake Victorian Black Forest Picture Frame; walnut, old surface
Up for bids we offer this antique. Black Forest, picture frame at no reserve. From the Victorian period, it's made of walnut with a grooved surface and cut and carved corner medalions. The wood still has its original shellac; we cleaned it up but otherwise it's unrestored. The inner frame still has its original plaster and gold leaf paint with only minor aging flaws. The frame's overall measurements are 9 1/2" by 7 3/8" and the opening is 6 1/2" by 4 1/4" It's well-built and still tight and sound. It's right out of an old home where it had been hidden away in the attic for decades. Normal 0 Antique to Vintage Metal framed picture of 3 little African American. Black Baby and 2 boys. Very cute and excellent metal frame that opens at the corner with a little tab, for changing the picture. Era 1920’s more or less. Size is 3½” wide by 5” tall. These type frames were popular back in the‘20’s and has a shiny pearlized look to the metal, unusual but nice. I believe this is a postcard cut down to fit the frame. Antique vintage 1920s 1930s era ART DECO silver & black picture frame w/ cupid
For your consideration is this antique Art Deco silver and black frame with a black and white sketch of a cupid. The frame is metal and the"matting" that one sees that is black and silver is painted. I have not attempted to open the back of the frame not wanting to disturb anything inside. The frame itself measures 6" X 8" and the inside measurement for the photo that would show is 3.5 X 5.5 inches. The frame and the paint are in excellent condition with the exception of an extremely small divet in the upper right hand corner of the frame itslef which I have attempted to photograph in the third photo. This is a gorgeous 8 X 10" metal and glass art deco style picture frame. Probably from the 30s or 40s. Probably brass, although the metal shade is very light and almost looks like silver. Looks like a frame within a frame, as there is an oval metal in the center of black reverse painted glass on each corner. At the top there is a little fleur de lis decoration, that looks like it is holding the oval on the frame. Really unique, but better to see my photos, since my description doesn't quite do it justice. The back is the velvet covered type, with an easel for standing or rings for hanging. The original owner of this lovely frame has put a piece of twine between the rings, probably so it could hang on one nail. I left it on, although it just unties. in very good, clean condition. This is an Antique Picture Frame. It dates from the mid 1800's and measures 12 3/16ths by 14 3/16ths inches. It is black lacquer over wood with gold gilt. This is frame in frame construction. One wood frame inside another. The outer frames black lacquer is cut or carved to reveal the chalk or plaster underneath that is over the wood. Shown in my photos is a corner view of the construction and a view of each corners hand cut decoration. It has a cheezy 1960's Robert Wood copy print in it, I'm sure you can do better than that! Here is a vintage Art Deco reverse painted picture frame. The back easel material that holds the frame to the easel is torn and broken. Someone has tried numerous strips of cellophane tape to hold it in place with no luck. The easel still holds the picture upright but will need to be fixed so it doesn't slip. Otherwise the frame appears in very nice cosmetic shape with no real issues. Cracks, chips or repairs. It has chrome corners with reverse painted silver and gold paint on black. The chrome corners shows expected light surface scratching from use. There are a few edges with small tiny dots of missing black paint but nothing bothersome at all. Please see photos for condition. Which is in good condition with 1 small crack and 1 small chip, measures approximately 3 1/3 inches in height and 2 3/4 inches in width. The piece is hand carved and has a oval opening for a small miniature picture. The opening is approximately 1 1/8 inches in height and 3/4 inches in width. Please see my other items! Pr Antique Victorian Walnut/black lacquered/gilt picture frame, Godey? prints
Offered for auction are these rectangular-oval picture frames with Godey like hand painted fashion prints. Shaped outer framing with inner frame or liner as a flat piece of wood with an oval deeply cut out to form the opening. The four corners of the flat liner have inscribed lines that form scrolls and framing of black lacquering and gilt lines. The inside of the oval opening is deeply recessed with gold gilding. Mats have some foxing and both prints are labelled"La Mode Illustree" Bureaux du Journal 56. Rue Jacob Paris. Also, some illegible signatures on the prints. Both prints are vividly colored probably due to the fact they are hand tinted. 21" x 18" outside, Oval is 16 1/2" x 13 1/2" Please do NOT use Ebay shipping since they are notoriously incorrect. We are pleased to offer this beautiful old. French Victorian frame. The oval frame features solid wood construction with thick gold paint on the outer frame and inner border. It is painted black in the center frame section. Petite barbola roses and leaves are applied to the frame face in at the top, bottom and center of each side. The roses are hand painted in vivid colors. This is a beautiful, antique frame. It is in very good condition with minor chipping to the paint in just a couple of areas. It appears that some gold(matches beautifully) paint has been used to touch up in some areas. Nothing distracting.this is just lovely. Structurally, the frame is in very good condition. It retain the old screw in circular hangers on the back. It does not have backing or glass. The frame is generously sized and measures 22" tall and 16" ... morewide.
