Set of 4 Antique Swinging Wooden Picture Frames 1920's
4 Antique wooden picture frames. 3 are swinging/tilt frames. And the fourth has a felted easel. The easel frame is marked"OrnaWood. They contained pictures of my great-grandparents, dating to the early 20th Century, but I'm now storing these in albums. Two of them have the glass(original) One of them(the octagonal one) is really delicate, but if you are careful with it, many years of use left. They are really great. Photo sizes in pictured order: 7 x 9. 7.5 x 9.5, 6.75 x 8.5, 8 x 10 Not familiar with what else to look for but please ask questions and I'll do my best.

This is in very good condition. You can have it with or without the photo. Frame has very little wear around the edges. Back paper is ready to come off but that is just a very thin covering. Has the old wire on the back to hang the photo. It is stamped on the bottom PF Volland. It may have been a frame for something else and the little boy photo was put in it? There still is cardboard to cover whatever you put in it. It feels like a wooden frame on the outside but the inside of the frame feels like Gesso. Measures 14 by 11. This framed piece has a story behind it that I could only imagine! I found it at an estate sale. In a box, wrapped in bubble wrap. It had been missing quite a few of the tiny nails in the back that secured it's contents. What was left of the paper backing was removed[in order to have the nails replaced] and what I discovered is what you see in the photos. The photo of the child was a replacement for the original photo of the man& woman. Which would explain the loose and missing nails in back. The frame is magnificent! Made of wood that I am unable to identify. Sorry. The glass is thick and other than needing a cleaning is in great condition. What you see in my photos is what you will receive. She said her grandmother gave her this picture when she was 3 years old because the little girl in the picture looked so much like her. It is unique because of the small size measuring 7" wide by 6 1/2" high and the picture opening is 5 1/4" by 3 3/4" It is made from solid wood. No veneer. The purple violets are all hand embroidered with silk thread on silk material. There are no missing stitches or thread and the material does show slight discoloration, due to age. Antique Colorized Portrait Gesso & Wood Bubble Glass (Convex) Frame 1920-1930
What a find! A beautiful antique bubble(convex) frame ornate with rosettes tinted portrait of a young lady from the 1920's or 1930's. The Frame: The frame has aged beautifully with expected patina for the age. There are rubbed and scuffed places along the edges, some white from the plaster ornate rosettes is showing around the top. The wire picture hanger and eye hooks looks to be original to the frame but I cannot say for certain as it is an estate sale find. The glass is curved, no discoloration, no cracks, no chips, or scratches to the glass, and no major damage to the frame as well other than the expected aging. There are some slight splits in the gesso with no signs of any repair work being done to the frame and all details look to be original. The frame is octagon in shape with nails being placed around the picture backing to ... morehold the portrait in place. The frame measures 21 1/2" in height and 12 1/2" across and is 1" thick. The Portrait: The portrait is of a young girl holding what seems to be an Hydrangea flower bloom. From what I have researched; this is either a tinted or colorized portrait and is probably from the 1920's or 1930's based on her clothing. The style of portrait, and similar portraits I found from The Chicago Portrait Company. The background has a green, copper, and pinkish tint with pronounced brushstroke accents on each side of the young lady. There are also defined lines in the blouse and flower. Old c 1920's Antique Rococo Cameo Nouveau Ornate Scrollwork Easel Metal Filigree
This is a superb c. 1920’s Rococo art nouveau cast metal Victorian picture frame with an easel back. This fabulous cameo style old picture frame is gorgeous with its shell and fan motif. Scrollwork detailing, and heavy use of Rococo and art nouveau style. The overall coloring is a rubbed, distressed gold color and it is completely original- all the ornate filigree detail is intact. There is a bit of age related wear to the metal and some very minor scuffing, but nothing that detracts(it is in amazing condition) and while it is unmarked it is certainly very early. It has a simple rod on the backside as the easel leg and a metal sleeve/ box on the backside designed to be open at the top edge, where the photo would slip in. There is one area near the very top where a weld has come loose, but the sleeve is still tight overall and not wobbly– ... moreand there are no issues with any of the other welds. Slight denting to that area as I show, but nothing major– as I said, a picture can easily slip inside. The oval picture opening is 4.5” high x 3” wide. Overall the frame stands 8.5” high x 6” wide. The metal sleeve on the backside can accommodate a picture that is 6.5” x 4.5” give or take ¼” Truly stunning, this Victorian frame would be a perfect addition to your shabby chic, romantic cottage, antique, Paris apartment or French Country or cottage décor home. This frame is all metal/tin work, just fantastic, brushed gold edging with nice 4 filigree designs on each side, it has curved glass, that has no chips or cracks. There is a small area where white paint got on the frame(see picture) I was able to peel away a small piece, but I will leave it to the buyer to clean it. The hole piece will need a good cleaning, this has been stored away for a long time. I wiped it down, but nothing else. The backing is also all metal/tin, and complete. There are some scratches on the back metal and the back inside frame, but this only adds to the wonderful patina and look of this beautiful piece. ANTIQUE EARLY AMERICAN ROCK MAPLE WOOD PAINTING PICTURE MIRROR FRAME 1920-1940
It's a beautiful picture frame made out of a high grade and grain of solid rock maple that's scalloped with three layers from somewhere between the 1920's and 1940's and there's not very many frames this old that are in this condition.It measures 53 1/2" x 26 1/2" out side to out and the insert is 48 3/4" x 21 9/16.This is not the original print that was in this.It's called"Wonderful Countryside" by F.Haller and was put in this frame back in the 1950's.It was oiled on a monthly basis since the time it was hung on the wall with this print in it until now.That's the only reason you will ever see a rock maple frame that's in this condition.Nothing is split or cracked and it's not dry rotted or peeling anywhere.There's two minor spots you would have a hard time even seeing.One ... moreis a tear size drop of something and the other is a real small scratch that I have pictured.The print is worthless and Is coming off the cardboard backing.It would make a beautiful mirror frame or would go great with any kind of early american artwork or furniture.It's for pick up only or I can drop it off at any pack and ship or UPS store if you want to prepay for it.I have adjusted my starting accordingly to off set the extra cost of having it packed and shipped.

Highly decorative antique picture frame circa 1920. Measures 5.5" by 4.5" plus circular ring at top. Brass frame looks like carved wood, very unusual. Original Velvet backing& stand. Slightly convex glass. Excellent condition.

VINTAGE ANTIQUE OVAL PICTURE FRAME FAUX WOOD GRAIN CA 1920'S W/SEPIA PHOTO 9x11
Please scroll down under this description for additional views. Vintage oval picture frame circa 1920-1930. The frame measures 9" by 11" and the opening measures 7" by 9" This is a wooden frame with a faux wood finish with a strong dark grain that resembles rosewood. This was done with a feather sometimes. My father called it feather graining.slighting moving the feather back and forth while moving through the paint. The photo displayed is what came with the frame when we bought it- a tinted sepia photo of a young man circa 1930. He is sporting a flashy tie and his slicked hair was the height of style in the period. The glass is probably original and in good condition. There are a few white marks on the frame's surface where there is a little crazing but nothing major or distracting. Delightful art by House of Art NY depicting a sweet poem about THE NURSE. Number 263 The poem definitely is from a by-gone era where the lady nurse cheerily dons an apron and tends to the baby and takes temperatures and gets all the blame for the doctor's mistakes! A great reminder of how far the nursing profession has come in recent years. And yet there is a nostalgic tug of older simpler days, where nurses actually did more nurturing patient care and less frustrating and time-consuming paperwork! Yes, I am a nurse! Measures 7.5 x 10.5" Original frame with glass intact. Genuine wood frame is lightly gilded and has a carved scrolled design in the four corners. I found this old frame and I have seen other similar listed as being from the 20's or 30's. I think this sounds right judging from the handwritten note on the back. From the Sunday school teacher.
