The outer dimensions of this antique frame are approx. 21 3/4" x 25 3/4" The inside dimensions. What size print will fit, are approx. 14 1/2" x 18 1/2" of course, you could also use a mat) The ornate borders are wood, most of the ones you find have a plaster or gesso that is molded to shape. This is a beautiful Victorian frame. Oval with ornate design all around. Has a 1 1/2" depth. Has a pretty wedding photo in it that looks to be c1910-20. Can be easily replaced. Frame is in good condition. However has a couple of defects, two minor cracks in the wood that have been touched up and don't effect the use of the frame at all, its only on the front layer doesn't go all the way through. I have taken pictures of them close up. Frame measures 10 1/2 x 12 1/2 and the picture is 6 x 8. Very nice piece from the past. TERMS: Payment is due within 3 days from end of Auction. It had been reversed painted and the previous owner has started to remove it with I think he said acetone. Sure it would be fairly easy to do. Antique 22" x 17" Dark Black Wood Picture Frame with Gold Leaf Gilt Border 1890
This is one of the most attractive antique frames that I have on ebay right now. It is a simple frame but I find it to be a really beautiful frame. This frame is from around the 1890s and is mostly a dark black with a bright gold leaf inside border. The rabbet measures about 22" x 17" Each side of the frame measures about 1 3/8" wide. On the side of the frame near one of the corners. There is a good sized chip(measuring about 1" x 1/4" and a crack extending from that chip. However, this damage does not effect the structural integrity of the frame and it not visible when the frame is hanging on the wall as it is on the side of the frame. Because you can't see it, I would still say this frame is still in very good condition. This frame is really gorgeous. It has some cracking from age along with a place on the edge where the gesso has chipped away over the years and a few visible layers of old paint(see pics) and is just as found. It measures 18 inches long, 15 inches wide on the outside; inside the frame is roughly 11 1/2 inches by 8 1/2 inches. On the back side, it is made to take a square piece of glass measuring a little over 12 by 9 inches. The lip for the picture/ glass measures roughly 3/8ths on an inch deep. Antique Convex Glass Oval Frame with U.S. Navy Sailor Photo
Up for bidding is this Antique Convex Glass Oval Frame with U.S. Navy Sailor Photo. Photo is a hand tinted original image of a sailor using what is possibly a WWl navy uniform. Dating the picture is difficult since the Navy had different variations of uniforms issued throughout the years from the early 1900's to the early 1940's. The words"U.S. Navy" printed on the hat band could indicate early 40's yet the wide lid top could be an earlier issue date. Photo is missing a small piece on the top and has a crack across the bottom. Other small rips are visible from the front and there are old masking tape repairs on the back side of the print. None of these flaws really affect the wonderful look of this sailor's cross armed pose. Frame is made of wood with the original heavy coat of white paint. The frame's condition ... moreis pretty good yet shows its age with some joint cracking and crackling of the paint coat. Oval glass has a wonderful convex shape to it and is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Please see the photos for further detail and condition views. We've made no attempt to repair anything on this picture. Only the top of the glass and frame has gotten a superficial cleaning to remove surface dust and grime. Large ornate antique gold picture frame from theVictorian era(late 1800s) The frame has a very ornamental design. It fits an approx 16 1/8 x 20 1/8 inch print or painting. Its exterior dimensions are approx 27 5/8 x 31 1/2 inches and it is 2 3/4 inches high. The frame is made up 4 separate pieces(see last photo) Most of the frame is in very good condition. However the medallion in the lower right corner(first photo) was missing and had to be replaced. It should be less noticeable when hung on the wall. There are also several minor dings, etc. as typically seen on frames of this age. It is being shipped without glass.

Head of a Boy" as well as, Little Boy with a Coral Necklace" It is said ... morethat during his day, children were advised to wear coral necklaces to protect them from fits and anxiety. Paul Rubens was a proponent of extravagant Baroque-Style. it is only appropriate that his little boy be framed in this very Baroque gold-gilt frame. The 1890-1920 wood frame has exceptional gesso(plaster) ornamentation at the corners and the center of each side.showing layers of intricate scrolls. Flourishes, shells and leaves.exquisitely linked together with a chain-like garland. The gesso is in very nice condition with only minor cracking in one small area and one tiny probable repair nearby. Enlarge photos#6& 7. The original portrait was done in black and red chalk. Heightened with white chalk, which was then enhanced with pen and dark brown ink on brownish paper. This is a print of that famous portrait. I do not know the date of this print, but my guess is prior to 1970 when this frame was purchased by this estate holder. The anchor mark for Birmingham England, and the date letter mark of a lower case( i) for the year 1908. The condition is as follows. The silver has some dings and dents especially around the central ring, the top cartouch is pushed in, the velvet on the front has some white polish dust. Antique Victorian Fancy Ornate Gold Floral Frame
I am downsizing my frame collection. And listing a few frames I have not found the perfect use for! This is a gorgeous fancy floral frame in extremely nice condition. The overall size is 13 X 15. And it holds an 8 X 10 sized image. The liner and frame measures 2 3/4 inches across, and the frame is just under an inch deep. It has beautiful golden flowers/leaves/vines set over a darker stippled background around the outside edge, and a beautiful bright gold geometric patterned inner liner. It is really stunning. Probably original to the frame. Old wavy glass and old wood backing. Both probably original to the frame. Two women are seated near waterfalls– each is wearing a fancy Victorian dress. Bonnets, and one is holding a parasol. Maybe Niagara Falls? Antique print has some all-over age discoloration. More noticeable on the margins than on the print. The discoloration does not detract from the print because it is hardly noticeable. Framed in an early Victorian walnut frame with original Victorian gold tone liner- both in original condition– a few discolorations on the gold tone liner– especially on the lower edge– see my pictures. The outer corners of the ... moreframe are tight– no wiggle. No spaces. Frame has old glass and wood backing. The lower right edge of the print is marked: ANNEDOUCHE SCULP. Up for auction is a very unique Antique Chinese or Japanese Wood Decorated Fan Frame with three prints of Geisha's. This piece is out of an estate of unique Asian Pieces. Such as some I have already sold. This large hanging wall Fan Frame has three windows with antique colored prints under glass. The body itself is wood with high relief painting designs such as the trees with laquer wood. There are a few issues through out this piece, chipping, a crack by on of the photos to the tree as seen clearly in the photo, also at the base of the fan, some early restoration seems present but not much. The back of the three frames are held by nails that may need reinforcing. Overall, a unique piece as you can see for these photos. Measures 32' long and 19' high. Here is a beautiful antique picture frame that I found at auction recently and had to buy. It is in excellent condition for such an old frame. It is around 19 by 25 on the outside and will accomodate a 13 by 19 oval picture. The center piece in it is now a piece of embroidered cloth mounted on a piece of cardboard. This frame is in such great condition that I see no chips or scratches. And someone put some kind of gold foil on the round knobs on each design. You can see that in the closeup pictures, it makes that part look like real gold. This is just a really nice old frame that will make a great compliment for that special picture you've been saving. Up for bids we offer this antique. Black Forest, picture frame at no reserve. From the Victorian period, it's made of walnut with a grooved surface and cut and carved corner medalions. The wood still has its original shellac; we cleaned it up but otherwise it's unrestored. The inner frame still has its original plaster and gold leaf paint with only minor aging flaws. The frame's overall measurements are 9 1/2" by 7 3/8" and the opening is 6 1/2" by 4 1/4" It's well-built and still tight and sound. This is a vintage antique Art Deco tilt swing wood and composite picture photo frame. It is of muted browns and gray tones. Some gild as well. It is 13" tall to top of decoration and is 12.5" across the bottom stand. The glass measures 9.5" T x 7 3/4" W and has a very handsome photo of a sailor which comes with it. It has felt on the bottom. It is not missing any parts but does have some nicks of paint(see photos) It swings/tilts great. At one time. The back was sealed but someone(not me) has opened it so if you want to change the photo. You can. I am listing a smaller frame and as always happy to combine items for shipping to save postage.
