This is an old vintage oval attractive wooden with a slight white wash over gold color picture frame. The opening is for a picture 18" x 22" and the frame is 23 1/2" x 27 1/2" For it's age the frame is in overall good shape but very close inspection shows a few hairline cracks. Still in lovely condition for a really old piece and still usable shape with just a little TLC. The worst feature on the surface is some tape residue that I did not attempt to remove, It has a blue velvet matt still in it where it looks like a small square picture was attached. the oval wooden backing piece is broken in half. Oval opening is about 5 by 6 inches. With a total size of 8 by 10.5 inches. Purchased at an estate sale with a painted"photograph" inside of a young man. However the photo was removed(had become discolored with age. Beautiful flower design on the corners of the frame, which is made of wood and enamel. The front of the frame looks great for its age, still good color and definition in the design and no defects. The back side has a few stains on the cardboard and some rustiness to the metal hanger and nails, which can be expected with an antique frame and would be fairly easy to update. Excellent condition. But does have some very fine scratches from polishing and age. The outer edge of black has some paint missing. See pics. Oval frame measures 23" tall. And 17' wide. Picture opening is 18 3/4" long, and 13" wide. The back of the frame has one spot about 1 inche wide where the nail tore through. It was repaired many years ago and you cannot see it from the front. The picture is of St. Teresa of Lisieux?Avila? and is in very nice condition. There are a few ripples at the top and a few nips off the edges.See pics. Inside the photo which we opened from the back we found a postcard dated 1942 from St. Paul Minn to Fairmount Minn. I will include this with the picture and the frame and documentation of its age. You are bidding on/ buying a TRUE ANTIQUE WOOD GESSO OVAL FRAME CONVEX BUBBLE GLASS. This is an outstanding non reproduction Gesso frame. The class is convex/bubble glass and it is in damage free condition. The frame is solid and sturdy. It is made of wood. All the decorations on the front side of the frame are raised. Ornate and classic. The frame measures 25 inches top to bottom. 19 1/2 inches across and 1 3/4 inches thick. At the top of the frame Photo 12. There is a rough spot. I am not sure if it was painted over or it happened in the original construction. On this frame keep in mind shipping will be a bit higher than a normal frame. There is an old paper matting that has discoloration and staining. The other two are older frames and are constructed the same. They are a little different in size. The larger one measures overall 13 3/4 inches x 11 3/4 inches x 1 1/4 inches deep with the inside opening being 9 1/8 inches x 7 1/8 inches. The smaller one measures 13 1/4 inches x 11 1/4 inches x 1 1/8 inch deep with the inside opening being 9 1/8 inches x 7 1/8 inches. The gold inner ring on them is actually a metal ring. Probably brass, it shows darkened spots and a couple of minor dents. I did not try to clean ... moreor polish the metal. Both of these frames have separation where the original joints are. There is a spot where a chip of wood is gone. Both of the frames seem to be solid and I don't know if the joints can be pulled back together and glued or if they can be filled and colored in some way. Both of the frames have glass and a wood backing. All the frames come without points or nails to put them together with the glass and back. So the new owner will need to supply same. Please take a good look at the pictures, I tried to show where the separation at the joints are. There are pictures that follow. Feel free to ask questions. The only thing I did to these was wipe off the dust and dirt with a damp cloth, otherwise they come to you as I got them and may need further cleaning.
