Old Dark Wood Frame This piece came from a very old estate recently. It's probably mahogany. It's 12" x 14" exterior. Inside opening is 10.75" x 9" It is deep. About 2.5" and the middle inside has a black stripe giving it an even deeper look. Still has some paper on the back from previous use. It's a tiny bit loose if you try hard but it's pretty tight still. Will frame a nice old piece perfectly or maybe for a shadow box. Has wear that can be seen in the close ups. It's just a nice old frame. I'm not an expert in all things so if you have any questions please ask before you bid. The frame is late 1800's early 1900's hand made. It's a really neat frame when you pick it up you can feel the weight of the wood. Really nice. It's in really very good shape. Very little wear/tear, the frame is 2" wide around the edges, the glass looks to be fine, the back has the old paper that seems to be attached to the backing of the print, has the original eye loops, the wire is old, but looks at some point to have been replaced. The picture is a print that looks wavy inside the frame and not in very good condition. But the frame is the most collectible. A gorgeous large frame for artwork. In a light wood. With'Arquati Brev. or'Bre. Arquati' surrounding the backing paper and'Arquati' impressed in script on each side. Measurements: 23 1/2" high x 39 1/4" wide x 1/2" deep. The sides of the frame molding are 1 5/8" wide. Not certain of the wood. The frame is fronted by the molding- there are two separate wood pieces that are neatly nailed together, two very small nails/tacks at each corner(visible at the side edges) The glaze is lovely yellow w/dark streaks, the frame is in excellent condition, very minor corners bumps perhaps- not a major problem seen here. A very heavy frame- likely due to the glass and the masonite that is used as a back board. ANTIQUE WOOD FRAME with FLORAL BOUQUET PORTRAIT This is a really special frame because of the unique layering of wood with some ornamental detailing(possibly Gesso. If not then solid wood) I will add a picture of the back later today to show the all wood construction. I am not sure of the origins of the portrait but it does look to be quite old. It is behind glass and I don't want to remove it but I actually was thinking about removing the glass, if I was going to keep it. I just don't have the perfect place to hang it in my home or I would keep it because it is quite beautfiul. I purchased it at an auction and I was told value was placed at around $250 by DuMouchelles which is a well known antique dealer in the midwest. These vintage solid oak wood frames measure a little over 6 x 7 inches with a 4 1/2 x 5 1/2 gold gilt ribbet. They are 1 1/2 inches deep from top to back bottom and come with their original back hanging wire and hooks. They are open frames with no glass. Vintage very old picture or art frame. It is solid wood and might have a layer of gesso. It is 10 by 7.75 inches on the outside and 7 by 8.5 on the inside. This is my favorite It is black and red. I do not see any chips or nicks. This came from my Great Grandma's estate. It could be from before 1940 and probably is I am just not sure. It is made of solid wood and it displays lot's of"American" history as well as the U.S.A. flag. The hand painted picture you are viewing is a rare find it is not dated. The Blue Ridge Scenic Railway was built in the 1870's and the 1890's the Marietta and North Georgia Railroad brought unparalleled growth to the towns it touched. It could be reused for the frame or you could choose to keep the portrait in it as an instant relative. The frame measures 23 inches tall and 19 inches wide. The inside of the frame measures 19 1/2 inches tall and 15 1/2 inches wide. And if you were to keep the oval matting the opening for it measures 15 inches tall and 11 inches wide. The frame itself looks to be solid oak I believe. It is quite dark wood. It is very sturdy for it's age. The gold trim on the inside of the frame is in good condition. The portrait on the inside is of a young man seated wearing a suit. It is not in perfect condition as it has a number of spots on it. I believe that it may be ... morea photograph, but I did not want to open the frame up to check. This piece came to me with a load of antiques from England and Belgium. It is quite old but I don't know the exact age. I've tried to take a number of pictures so that you can judge for yourself it's age and value. Beautiful Solid Wood Tramp Art Picture Frame with Designed Scarf (20x20)
First let me say I know nothing about this item.other than the Frame is beautiful and thought someone may want it for the frame itself. If I did my research right it is called Tramp Art(but I could be wrong)The frame is solid wood, VERY Heavy and I didn't see any nicks in it.Dark Colored.This has glass over the"scarf"inside the frame.to me it looks like a scarf that has been glued onto the inside back.As you can see it as 2 top openings for hanging on the wall.The exact length of frame from very top edge to bottom edge is 22" high and 22" across, but the glass part is 20" x 20"the backing has small nails holding the back on.if that is a scarf, it is really pretty and stretched to fit nicely in the frame though.Very clean and the glass is clear.just a little something different.I was going to take the frame ... moreapart and use if for a picture that I have, but first I will see if anyone else may want it before I take it apart.I found this about a year ago at a yard sale and it was just been stored in my closet all these years.it comes from my pet& smoke-free home.Now since it is heavy, it is going to require extra bubble wrap and extra packaging so shipping will be more than nomal, I just don't want to take a chance of the glass getting broken.Buyer pays shipping $19.95
