The 1890-1920 wood frame has exceptional gesso(plaster) ornamentation at the corners and the center of each side.showing layers of intricate scrolls. Flourishes, shells and leaves.exquisitely linked together with a chain-like garland. The gesso is in very nice condition with only minor cracking in one small area and one tiny probable repair nearby. Enlarge photos#6& 7. The original portrait was done in black and red chalk. Heightened with white chalk, which was then enhanced with pen and dark brown ink on brownish paper. This is a print of that famous portrait. I do not know the date of this print, but my guess is prior to 1970 when this frame was purchased by this estate holder. The backside of the frame has a paper that was glued to it that reads: 174 Rubens- Head of a Boy" The kraft paper on the back of this frame looks to be, at least, 1950 and perhaps older. So am showing lots of pictures. The frame margin is approxl 1 1/2" wide. The frame measures approx. 15" wide and 11" tall. There are a couple of small areas of missing gilt, including upper right corner, but could easily be repaired. The frame has nice old glass. The print in the frame is called"Peace and Plenty" by George Inness. A beautiful picture of a harvest scene. This It is marked on the back of the frame. This is a framed old print. Copyright 1909 by Frank W. Williams of the"Blue Anchor Inn behind glass. The stunning antique Victorian frame has the original gold paint with raised gesso detailing. It has a nice curvy shape and pretty sprays of Lillie's on all four sides with lots of other gesso details. It is in very good condition with expected wear. There is some missing gesso and hairline cracks. There is some missing wood pieces on the back and some of the veneer in the back has separated. One eyelet does not grip the wood anymore and will need to be moved for hanging. The print is covered with cardboard and held in by old nails. There is no damage to the print as far as I can see except for some dirt/marks. We are selling this framed print as found, in it's original state except for a light dusting. We are pleased to offer this exceptional. Antique, framed print. The print is signed(picture 5) The subject is an exquisitely executed sketch of a Skye Terrier. The detailing is remarkable and quite realistic. The expression is captivating. The print is framed in the most beautiful manner. The antique French style, wooden frame is large and substantial. It is finished in black with thick, carved wood, acanthus leaf and scroll accents. These accents highlight and practically cover each corner and extend up the sides, top and bottom. They are gold giltwood and are striking against the black. The print has EDIZ P.V. 21 inscribed under the terrier(picture 6) According to a couple of knowledgeable sources. This indicate that this is, in fact, an engraved reprint of an original art. The number 21 indicates the printing was done in 1921. The matte ... moreis also stamped with two insignias(see picture#7) The first is a fleur de lis with a circle around it. In very tiny print within this circle are the the words, Ediz. P.V. Fiorenza" This indicates that the print and matte were done in Italy. The second stamp on the frame is an artist's paint brush surrounded by a rectangle. Inside the rectangle are the words"Coloratura a Mano" and"Originale Ponte Vecchio" According to what I find online, this is the company in Italy that did the printing. This company was in business in the 1920s and the 1930s. This is an exceptional piece. Both in design and in quality. It is simply stunning. It is in very good condition with only minor scuffing to the finish of the frame. It is covered with a black fiber paper on the back which is still in very good condition. Antique Litho Landscape Print in Gold Gilt Wood and Colored Floral Gesso Frame
This is a nice vintage framed lithograph print of a lush green landscape around sunset with a home on the water. The print is colorful but is probably faded. And the frame is excellent with only a few tiny scuffs that are difficult to see. The frame is mainly gold with a band of marbled gold and brown around the middle and clusters of gesso flowers and leaves with blue and light pink accents on all four corners. The paper backing in still intact but is taped almost all the way around the back. There is a newer metal hanger attached to the back in the middle of the top edge. The outer dimensions of the frame are 18 1/2" x 22" I will pack it very well, double box it, and insure it during shipping.

This is a fantastic antique lithograph print of a young girl playing with her teddy bear and her dog. The colors are beautiful and bold but may be slightly faded. And look excellent in the gold gilt frame. The print is slightly wavy but does not have any creases or tears, or water damage. The frame is in good condition with some small chips of gesso missing that are not obvious because they have been touched up with gold paint. The entire frame looks like it may have been re-painted at one time but still looks slightly darkened from age. The glass, print, and cardboard back panel are held snugly in place with some wooden slats that are nailed to the back with three pieces of a yard stick placed behind them. There is a wire screwed onto the back for wall hanging. Mat opening is just over 14 inches. Title under the print is“LABOUR OF LOVE” with the name Maude Goodman in small letters under the design. Also some other small writing at the top with the copyright date. The old mat has faded over the years. But the fading is kind of uniform and not noticeable under the gold trim. One tiny tear under the gold trim– not really noticeable. The frame is wood– corners are tight. No wiggle. The frame has been sprayed gold as a compliment to the trim on the mat. There are several layers to the print or painting. Pretty sure it's a print but I'm not going to open it up to find out and risk damaging it. The frame and glass are in excellent condition. The original label is on the back. I took the backing off and found that the print is pressed into the glass. A little bit of green paint came off the edge(excess beyond glass) so perhaps it is a painted print? It came from an estate of a historic house in Vermont. It is stunning. It measures 11.75" x 9.75" The nails in the back are the. Old square edged. This is a gem!

Large Late 19th Century Victorian style Solid wood picture frame. the outside of the frame is is solid wood with a decorative gesso design center frame. The decorative gesso to the to the innermost section of the frame is decorated in gold Leaf. Although hard to see, im sure it can be cleaned up bring out the colors. 15 1/2 x 19 3/4 inside picture frame. The frame is 5 1/2 in wide. The picture inside the frame is a signed chronograph print by William henry Chandler. He was an artist who resided in North Jersey and commuted to New York daily. He was in business with his brother who was in charge of the administration side of the business. he also made some of the frames for chandlers Pieces. With her dog near her, pulling the feathers off of the woman’s bonnet– very sweet! The dog looks like a King Charles spaniel. Antique print is in good condition–black and white with good detail to the engraving. There is a small margin(about 1/2 inch at the bottom of the print with some faded printing– one side has the artist who painted the scene(Hartwich) and the other side looks like the publisher– I can make out the word BerlinLouisenstr– printing is very light. Framed in an early Victorian walnut frame with original Victorian gold tone liner and ebonized accents- both in good original condition– maybe just a few very minor discolorations on the gold tone liner and some“use” marks ... moreon the walnut– see my pictures. The frame is in excellent condition with a few minor touch ups and some light scratches. But the finish looks to be original. The gesso accent on the lower left corner was half missing, but a new one was hand sculpted and painted to match the rest, and the repair is virtually unnoticeable. There is a piece of wood over the back of the picture that is loose in spots and could be nailed back down. There is one screw eye on the middle of the top edge that must have been used to hang the picture(there is no wire, just the one ... morescrew eye in the middle) The glass in the frame is excellent. The outer measurements of the frame are 21" x 25" and it holds a 16" x 20" picture. I will pack it very well, double box it, and insure it during shipping.

Vintage antique carved wood frame barn red and gold paint Gould duck print
I am calling this Roy croft or Eastlake style frame I am using style word as I am unsure of brand but the age and type seem to be just that. The quality of the wood is genuine well made with a deep barn red stain paint surrounding the glass.The carved boarder lines around the frame are done with perfection with hints of gold also. The gold part[boarder] has thin squigley drizzle like black lines of paint on it. I think it is part of design. I have not tried to clean this as much as I would like to. I am afraid of removing something of design that belongs. I tried with magnify glass to see more detail it seems there may be some sort of signature with numbers on bottom front of gold painted trim boarder. I can not make out the letters or numbers I removed print to clean the glass. There is no extra back for the frame.The print is layed out ... moreglued on to card board or print board. The bottom of the print reads Dendrocygna Arcuta no.7 Gould Lower left reads Copyrighted and published by Artistic P.P. co. inc. The lower Bottom right reads Printed in Germany. The top right reads No.150. frame measures 8 inch tall 9 and 1/2 inch wide. The print inside[litho] included measures 5 and 1/2 inch tall and 7 inch wide. This is a beautiful example of good old fashioned decorative art. The screws look hand made and are brass color I have shown close up of them in corners of the molding. The frame is made well and not loose. You might be able to see the hand paint signature on the wood frame bottom with close up. The print is not hand signed that I can see.
