A nice mixed lot of frames. I believe these frames are brass. But, please look at all the pictures for complete determination. All of the frames have easel backs except for two. Which are freestanding. The frames are light in weight so I don't believe them to be solid brass. They are in vintage condition which seem to add to their charm. The frames vary slightly in measurement but they are approximatly 7"X5" I reserve the right to end my listings early. There are a few spots of rust(look at the pictures) The easle looks to have been replaced, it’s painted gold has 3 flaps with screws to hold the picture in, over all it’s 11’ tall and 7.75’ wide, the only marking I see is the numbers on the back on the bottom that read 9235 3 7919. Beautiful little ornate brass picture frame. No maker on the piece. In great condition but will need a little clean up as it has been in storage unused for some time. The frame has a green fabric mat that shows behind the brass decoration. Has easel back and sits horizontally. When sitting vertically. It is a bit uneven and doesn't sit flat on a table. Its possible that the easel might just need to be bent a little to get it to sit flush, but I will leave that to the new owner as I don't want to break it. Ornate Victorian Cast Brass Easel Mirror 1860's With Fox Roses Pin Dish Birds
I am selling a 40 year collection of antiques. All items are guaranteed antique and are as described. Please check my other auctions for more fine antiques. The auction is for a beautiful brass dressing table mirror that dates to the 1860s and is in amazing original condition. The deeply beveled mirror is original and has only minimal aging to the silvering which would be expected in a mirror of this age. The original brass backing is still in place as pictured in photo 9 this is probably the reason the mirror is still in nice condition. The mirror frame and harp are amazing in their detail and the castings include a Fox at the top of the mirror. Two birds in flight, a birds nest with eggs and two bumble bees, the entire mirror and frame are encircled with many roses and vines and rose leaves. There is a heart shaped pin tray that is cast ... moreinto the base of the mirror frame pictured in photo 8. The mirror measures 13 1/4 inches tall 10 inches wide at footed base it is 9 3/4 inches wide from bird to bird at each side of the mirror bracket and is quite petite in appearance. The beveled mirror measures 6 3/4 inches long by 5 1/2 inches wide. There are no breaks, dents, chips or repairs to the mirror frame and only a few small tarished areas to the beveled mirror. Old c 1920's Antique Rococo Cameo Nouveau Ornate Scrollwork Easel Metal Filigree
This is a superb c. 1920’s Rococo art nouveau cast metal Victorian picture frame with an easel back. This fabulous cameo style old picture frame is gorgeous with its shell and fan motif. Scrollwork detailing, and heavy use of Rococo and art nouveau style. The overall coloring is a rubbed, distressed gold color and it is completely original- all the ornate filigree detail is intact. There is a bit of age related wear to the metal and some very minor scuffing, but nothing that detracts(it is in amazing condition) and while it is unmarked it is certainly very early. It has a simple rod on the backside as the easel leg and a metal sleeve/ box on the backside designed to be open at the top edge, where the photo would slip in. There is one area near the very top where a weld has come loose, but the sleeve is still tight overall and not wobbly– ... moreand there are no issues with any of the other welds. Slight denting to that area as I show, but nothing major– as I said, a picture can easily slip inside. The oval picture opening is 4.5” high x 3” wide. Overall the frame stands 8.5” high x 6” wide. The metal sleeve on the backside can accommodate a picture that is 6.5” x 4.5” give or take ¼” Truly stunning, this Victorian frame would be a perfect addition to your shabby chic, romantic cottage, antique, Paris apartment or French Country or cottage décor home. Its original intended purpose was a photo or picture frame or decorative vanity/accent mirror. The front bottom corners depict a winged dragon. Wyvern, Scitalis, or winged-Griffin] having only two front legs with paw feet, and a serpent's tail. At top center is a pedestal urn with fruit or flowers above the broken-pediment- a face of a diety below. The highly decorated border has a lighted torch finial on each top side. Below those are"C-scrolls" with drapery dangling a pendant. And a small tassel along each side edge. Other touches include swags, shells, leaves, and/or feathers. This piece has high detail! I had some reservation in parting with this piece because it simply exudes quality. Character and was executed so well when made. Not to mention, I bet this piece has a story- if it could talk! As if the frame with easel back wasn't great enough. There is also this antique photo inside of a Victorian lady and her children. The whole piece is in exquisite shape with little ware to the frame. It does have just 1 prong back missing. But the other 3 are there to keep photo in place. The frame back is numbered, but I can't make it out. Very ornate, gilded and measures 10.5" tall with it being 6.25" across. The photo does have some damage on the back- in terms of the hard back it is attached too. Sylized leafy carved doors and surrounding frame, small knobs on hinged doors, traveling shrine, originally made to hold a devotional image or icon, has an easel back, now empty, and no glass. Measuring 7-1/2" x 5-1/2" by app 3/4" deep, and weighs 6 ounces. The opening or sight for a picture measures app 2-5/8" across and 4" high measured at the back of the opening.
