Antique Eastlake Victorian Black Forest Picture Frame; walnut, old surface
Up for bids we offer this antique. Black Forest, picture frame at no reserve. From the Victorian period, it's made of walnut with a grooved surface and cut and carved corner medalions. The wood still has its original shellac; we cleaned it up but otherwise it's unrestored. The inner frame still has its original plaster and gold leaf paint with only minor aging flaws. The frame's overall measurements are 9 1/2" by 7 3/8" and the opening is 6 1/2" by 4 1/4" It's well-built and still tight and sound. It's right out of an old home where it had been hidden away in the attic for decades. It's in very good, overall condition and is missing only a small pointed piece of one of the corner medalions which doesn't hurt its appearance. Antique Pair of Eastlake Victorian Black Forest Picture Frames with Bird Prints
Up for bids we offer this pair of antique. Black Forest picture frames with no reserve. From the Victorian period, they are made of black walnut with carved surfaces that resemble crisscrossed tree branches. Each of the frames overall measurements is 10 5/8" by 8 3/8" and each has an opening that is 6 5/8" by 4 3/8" They are well-built and still tight and sound. Both are in very good, overall condition but one does have a 1 inch crack in the glass in the upper right corner and the other is missing a small piece of wood in the back which isn't visible when hanging on a wall. They currently have matching prints of birds, one a Scarlet Tanager and the other a Downy Woodpecker. Antique French Fashion Engraving Print Eastlake Victorian Walnut Frame Berlin
Estate sale found antique circa 1880's French fashion engraving in a Eastlake Victorian walnut frame in very good condition. This print is marked at the bottom"PL. L Bureaux Encheplatz 4. Berlin" The engraving print looks hand colored and has no stains or blemishes. The solid walnut with gold frame is in good condition except for one small area of chipped off black japanning which is set over a white gesso base coat. This minor flaws are all shown up close in the photos. The frame has the original finish with a great patina and the glass is very nice. The back shows a one piece this piece of thin wood that I believe is original but has been put back with the original inside surface facing out as the oxidation color is not as dark as the rest of the bare wood. I say this because some layers of old magazine pages are seen under ... morethe wood panel that someone put in some years back to pad out the print to keep it flat and take up the space created by the wood shrinkage from age. The print measures approx. 10" x 8" the frame is 14+5/8" x 12+3/4" x 2+3/4" thick. Displays well, a great addition to any collection. Will be shipped USPS Priority Mail with tracking included. ANTIQUE VICTORIAN EASTLAKE FRAME INCISED CORNERS EBONIZED TRIM 20+X24+ AS IS
ANTIQUE VICTORIAN WALNUT EASTLAKE FRAME w/ INCISED GOLD DESIGN IN EACH CORNER. Circa 1860’s– 1880’s. Ebonized trim around the outside edge and the inside opening. FRAME IS IN“AS IS” CONDITION– FINISH IS ORIGINAL BUT THE STRUCTURE NEEDS SOME RESTORATION. The front of the frame has original finish in pretty good condition– the problem are the outside edges– no finish on them. Some nail holes and splintery broken edges where nails were– there may have been another wood layer on the outside of the frame. A little sanding on the sides would help! Dark original finish on the front of the frame. The incised gold design on the corners has faded– needs to be re-touched. Outer measurements of the frame are 20 ¼ inches by 24 ¼ inches. The frame can be used vertically or horizontally. Opening size is 16 ¾ inches by 20 ¾. The frame ... moreis 3/4 inch deep measured from the side and about 2 inches wide measured from the front. Corners are pretty tight– a small chip off the outside edge of one corner. I tried to picture as many of the flaws and damages that I could to let you know what you are buying. CHOICE OF BEAUTIFUL DEEP WALNUT VICTORIAN EASTLAKE PICTURE FRAMES w/ INSET OVAL
This listing is for your choice of one fine 19th century deep walnut picture frame- both of which hold vintage needlepoint(one petit point) And both of which are outstanding! As you'll see in the photos. They are similar in design and surprisingly similar in size. The walnut and Eastlake ebonized pattern of each frame remains in excellent original condition with just a couple spots of wear. I won't bore you by describing the detail that you can quickly see in the photo. But to make your choice easier, I'll deal with their specifics individually. 1) Smaller" frame with burgundy floral needlepoint. Measures just about 13 1/2 by 11 1/2 inches(widest outside measurement) and the oval opening is 9 x 7 inches. Although this frame appears significantly smaller in the photos. Given the shape of its sides(which flare outward) there's ... moreless than 1 inch difference between their sizes. Near perfect condition with some looseness in the joints that has occurred in its last 10 years hanging on my diningroom wall. Retains original glass& beveled-edge backing board. I've owned this frame for about 30 years. Having originally bought it to hold a 19th century family photo. However, the needlepoint was so pretty that I left it intact so have never removed its backing. 2) Larger" frame with needlepoint bird or distlefink. Measures just about 14 x 12 inches(outside measurement) and the oval opening is 7 3/4 inches by 9 1/2 inches. Excellent condition. Totally tight at the joints, but the original gold leaf oval has been gone over at some time- perhaps to brighten it. This top coating does rub off(I did it partially) with a soft cloth and window cleaner. Retains original glass but is paper backed and written on the back is"Petit Point by Pat Bartler 1954" While I also purchased this frame a long time ago. It has some slight nicks, but no big chips. Very nice piece. There is a chip to the wood piece that holds the pictures in place, it won't be seen when it is in use. Great estate find! Deep Walnut Wood Eastlake Victorian Picture Frame with Crewel Embroidery
There is no reserve on this antique Eastlake Victorian deep walnut wood picture frame. It is shadow box style. It measures 13 3/4 x 15 3/4 inches and is 3 inches deep. The opening for a picture is 10 x 12 inches. I think it has a wood backing but the back is covered with the needle work material and I do not want to take it apart. There is a hanger and it has glass over the framed crewel basket of violets. It has a gold colored wood liner outlined with a black wood liner. The frame has minimal age wear but still is in excellent condition for about 100 years of use. Buyer pays $13.00 shipping.

This nicely preserved 1880s frame was converted to a shadow box back in the 1950s or 60s. It could easily be reversed by removing the plywood on the back if you like. But otherwise they are in very good condition. They're a really pretty pair of frames. With wonderful detail. The inside section is partially gold gilded and partially painted gold. Antique Victorian EASTLAKE Picture Frame~Walnut Etchings~Burl Wood? Walnut
Up for auction is an antique victorian Eastlake deep well picture frame. It is walnut wood and it looks like burl wood on the top part of the frame but I am not sure. I'm not a dealer but I know it is Eastlake. There is a frame of gold on the interior surrounded by 2 layers of walnut wood frame. Both walnut sections have intricate carvings of eastlake flower designs.typical of eastlake. This frame is a deeper frame than some others that I have. This is 3" deep. Although the front part of the frame is pretty good. The sides that are Black painted are rougher. 3 of the 4 sides have chipping of black paint. Looks like it was scraped on something. It can certainly be repainted black on the sides but I just never did. I bought the frame this way at an estate sale. I have collected victorian for the past 22 yrs and am now changing decor. ... moreIt has the original back wood panel. No glass. Measures.outside frame 14 1/4" x 12 1/2" inside is 8 x 10. Eastlake- Hitchcock Style Description: This is a pair of antique Victorian shadow box picture frames that are an Eastlake-Hitchcock style. They measure approximately 14 1/8" tall. 12 1/8" wide, and 2 1/8" deep each. The glass panes measure approximately 9 3/4" long and 7 1/2" wide. The style"Eastlake" comes from Charles Locke Eastlake(1837-1901) who designed simple, yet beautiful frames in contrast with overly, ornate frames of the day. This frame is designed with different stepped layers that are alternately painted a lovely chocolate brown and gold. These wood carved, gold gilt frames are absolutely magnificent and would add warmth and beauty to any room. Condition: These antique frames are knicked and scratched in various ... moreareas. Especially around the edges. Some of the gold paint has chipped away. They have been wiped down, but you may want to clean them yourself. The back of the frames each have writing on them, identifying what pictures used to be in them. The back of one frame says, Grandpa Joseph Beele. Born Sept. 30, 1822. Died Dec. 30, 1888. The back of the other frame says, Grandma Jane Beele. Born June 2, 1834. Also, the back that holds the picture in on one of the frames is spit in two. I don't pick up too many of these deepwells unless they are unusually nice. This is one of those frames. An outstanding c1860 walnut deepwell with multipart frame construction producing a 4 layer deep frame. This one has an outer walnut frame. A brightly gilded inner frame followed by an incised, ebonized molding and a brightly gilded incised site liner. The frame is in fantastic condition with only minor wear and has the original wavy glass and shingle backboard. Mitered corners with square nailed construction. Up for auction a beautiful Victorian Eastlake Carved Picture Frame Measures 14 1/2" x 12 1/2" holds an 8" x 10" photo Is 2 3/4" deep I believe it is all original has hand carve design on the second layer of wood which is black lacquered. And a pretty gesso floral design on the first layer. Has a light gold tint thats worn in good shape for its age. Please see pictures, some light flaking of the frame and looks like the 2 top corners on the inside have been touched up. Great period piece for your home!
