What's great about this photo is that the child is wearing his own US Army dress uniform! The photo is hand-tinted. It measures approx. 9 3/4" x 15 5/8" The frame overall measures approx. 11 11/16" x 17 13/16" The frame itself is wood with plaster overlay to add design or accent to the frame. It is painted gold and brown. The frame shows typical use wear to the plaster and paint. But is still in really nice shape. This framed piece has a story behind it that I could only imagine! I found it at an estate sale. In a box, wrapped in bubble wrap. It had been missing quite a few of the tiny nails in the back that secured it's contents. What was left of the paper backing was removed[in order to have the nails replaced] and what I discovered is what you see in the photos. The photo of the child was a replacement for the original photo of the man& woman. Which would explain the loose and missing nails in back. The frame is magnificent! Made of wood that I am unable to identify. Sorry. The glass is thick and other than needing a cleaning is in great condition. What you see in my photos is what you will receive. What a handsome couple and what a lovely frame. This is a metal oval frame with brass finish and molded. Pierced decorative metal mounts top and bottom and on each side. The overall length of the frame is 23 1/2" overall width is 15 1/2" The measurement of the actual opening is 13" by 19" This photo was in this frame when we bought it so of course I had to see if anything was written on the back. This frame is very easy to get into- brass tabs on the back hold the metal dust cover in place. Written in a scrawling hand on the back of the photo is a date"Aug 24, 1929" and a last name that might be"Benczar" or"Benazar" The pretty bride is fashionable in her short"flapper" style gown and immense veil and bouquet. Her groom is matinee idol handsome. The phjoto is sepia with just a bit ... moreof hand coloring on the fern fronds of the bouquet and a bit of the backdrop. THere is a faint ring of wear on the photo from the frame. The glass is original and in nice condition, there is wear to the gold colored finish on the frame. The frame is a deep warm wood color with a black border. Convex bubble glass. I think the wood has a plaster gesso coating, where there is wear, white shows. I believe this frame was probably made sometime around 1900. I found this treasure at a sale on the outskirts of Saratoga Springs. NY(a place known for it's grand Victorian era homes& rich history) a few years ... moreago. It remains in the same condition that I found it. The convex glass needs to be cleaned but it appears not to be scratched. Broken, or chipped. The wooden frame is tiger wood with black paint outlining the picture opening& the outer edge of the oval frame. The frame has some minor chips& scratches(understandable. Considering its age) There is about a 2.5“ crack/ split/ separation in the wood. It runs parallel to the flat back side of the frame& the best way I can describe it is that it is similar to when laminated wood layers might separate from each other. it's not the type of crack that runs straight through the thickness of the wood from the top to bottom so you only see the crack on the back of the frame. It does not affect the structure or appearance of the frame because the split in the wood doesn't run through to the front of the frame& it can easily be repaired with glue. It’s just barely visible when you view the frame from the side& back and you can’t see it at all from the front. I believe this is an original(possibly hand colored) photograph so it's a bit faded from age& there is a small tear in the photographic paper where the

Sweet Antique Large Baby Photo Ornate Gesso Wood Bubble Convex Dome Glass Frame
Up for auction is a sweet antique baby photograph that is framed in an antique wooden gesso/ frame with nice details. It's large and measures about 22" x 19" including frame) It's in good overall condition. The photograph is black& white with a slight green tinge on the outter edge. The frame is gold/ bronze tone. And has a spot of repair on the top gesso design on the right bottom leaf area and touch-up paint overall. There is also a mild finish crack along the bottom left outter edge. See photos-shows the details and can be see from the front also(barely noticeable) The glass front is bubble dome convex. The back has a card stock backing and there is a wire attachment for hanging. The photograph and backing are a bit loose, but can be hung as is or you may wish to tighten it. Offered is a Vintage Art Deco to Early Mid Century Era Bubble Glass Picture Frame& Photo. The frame measures approx. 17" wide(left to right) By 11 3/4" tall at the tallest point. It is in good vintage condition with the expected minor surface scuffs on the wood. Consistent with age. The cardboard backing is currently held in place by masking tape. LARGE ANTIQUE GOLD METAL CONVEX BUBBLE GLASS PICTURE FRAME 1900'S WEDDING PHOTO
Lovely large gold colored cast metal antique convex or bubble glass picture frame with antique wedding photo. Measures 16 1/4" x 25 1/2" Likely dates from the early 1900's. Condition: The frame has 3 breaks that could use soldering but not really necessary. see photos. You would never notice them passing by on a bicycle. As my grandmother used to say. Also some wear to the finish and some surface scratches here and there. The frame could use a cleaning as well. There is a tiny piece of paper on the inside of the frame that landed on the man's face in several of the photos. No big deal. Otherwise, very nice and totally usable frame even just as it is.
