ANTIQUE Gilded Metal PICTURE FRAME in Original LEATHER DISPLAY BOX
This auction is for a unique and displayable antique oval picture frame in its original leather carrying case/display box. The outside of the box consists of black leather with a gilt design on front and a collapsible leg/stand on the backside. Upon opening there is a removable oval shaped gilded metal frame with plastic/glass picture cover. The inside of the frame has a piece of flowered fabric that was put in a long time ago and does not hinder its ability to put a photo in. The front of the frame is removed by popping it out and putting it back together by applying pressure. It is attached to the box by a hook and has a padded cloth interior. The box measures 6 1/2" tall. 5" wide and about 1"deep. The removable inner oval frame is 4 1/2" tall and 3 1/2" wide, while the photo space is just smaller than those dimensions. ... moreThis item is in decent condition for its age. The actual picture frame has no flaws. Just some slight wear. The box's leather shows a little wear/rubbing, the gilt is bright, while the leg on the back is a little loose and there is a newer ribbon keeping the arm from opening too far. Antique Gilded 19th Century APC Bonte Wood Picture Frame with Picture
This approx. 14" x 12" antique. Oval, gilded wood picture frame with gesso ornaments, was hand made in the"FRAMES and LOOKING GLASSES" workshop of APC Bonte in Cincinnati, Ohio in the second half of the nineteenth century. Part of the original label is still can be seen on the back. I do not know if the picture of a mother and her son in the 9 1/2" opening is also a period antique, but I am positive that the black touch-ups on it were not made by Photoshop or Corel Draw. The frame and the picture is in very good to excellent condition, but the gesso decoration was shaved off from the outer rim of the frame for some times ago. PAIR ANTIQUE GESSO& GILDED TRIANGLE FRAMES Up for your consideration is this PAIR OF GESSO& GILDED TRIANGLE PICTURE FRAMES. Each side measures 40.5" long. And from top to bottom they measure 35.5" ht. Each side of the picture opening is 22.5" long. There are 4 different layers of wood covered with different designs of gesso(plaster) They have the wood backers and glass still in them. They have a little gesso missing here and there, but overall look very good. This is the first pair of these frames I have seen. I have seen the triangle flag shadow box type, but not picture frames. This is a Nice Older Gilded Wood Picture Frame. Opening for picture is 24"x32" and total size is 36"x44" It is about 4" thick and has a 1/4" depth(rabbet) And weighs 12 pounds. I am not sure if it is gold leaf. But gently wiped it off, just in case. There is some red under one of the small scuffs. So it might be gold leaf. I have had it a long time. And it is really lovely, but we really need to downsize. It has a few small scuffs. And a little darker on about 1/2 side of one frame side. Gently used and it doesn't include glass. This is an almost exact pair of antique mid-19th century silver gilded lemon gold frames. They were both covered in paint and were professionally stripped to bring out the original silver gilding. As a result of the stripping. Some of the silver gilding came off, mostly on the raised edges of the frame molding. Also, some of the paint couldn't be removed, but it tends to blend in with the frames. Overall. One measures 14 3/4 inches x 19 1/4 inches(37.47 cm x 48.9 cm) It fits a picture measuring 10 5/8 inches x 15 1/8 inches(27 cm x 38.42 cm) It's molding width measures 2 1/2 inches(6.35 cm) The other is similar in size. Overall. It measures 14 5/8 inches x 19 3/8 inches(37.15 cm x 49.2 cm) It will hold a picture measuring 10 1/2 inches x 15 1/4 inches(26.67 cm x 38.74 cm) It's molding also measures 2 1/2 inches wide(6.35 cm) As ... moreyou can see in the photos. And some other minor damage in a few other spots, but you can see the potential of this piece with some restoration. Antique American Early 19th Century Sully Gold Gilded Frame
This is a great-shaped antique early 19th-century Sully gold gilded frame. It dates circa 1820s. Overall. It measures 17 3/8" x 18 3/8" 44.13 cm x 46.67 cm) The back opening size is 12" x 13" 30.48 cm x 33.02 cm) It has substantial width at 3" 7.62 cm) As you can see in the photos. There is a lot of damage to the left side of the molding. There is also wear along the inner site edge of the frame, with the white gesso showing in places. There is chipping along most of the exterior of the frame molding. It does have a number of pluses. It has its original ring hook on the back. It has hand forged nails. It has that wonderful yellow paint on the sides that was used during this period. And it has great lines. It has what I believe to be the original glass. Which is very wavy and has numerous bubbles. However, it does ... morehave some light scuff marks on it. The finish has crackled almost everywhere. But I must say. It really looks beautiful like that. And the color of the patina is incredible. Pair Ornate Aesthetic Movement Art Nouveau Antique Gold Gilded Frames
This is a beautiful pair of ornate antique gold gilded frames. I would date them late 19th century. They seem to have an Aesthetic Movement feeling to them as well as a sense of Art Nouveau. Talk about a gorgeous pair of frames! The detail on them is just lovely. And the gold color is simply beautiful. They are very well-made and must have been very expensive in their day. They are of such good quality that they appear to be handcarved. But I believe they are applied compo. Overall. Each measures 17 1/4 inches x 20 1/4 inches(43.82 cm x 51.44 cm) The back opening sizes are 14 1/8 inches x 17 1/8 inches(35.8 cm x 43.5 cm) The moldings are 1 3/4 inches wide(4.45 cm) One has its original wood backing. Each has hairline cracks on them due to age. But these definitely do not take away from the look of the frames. They also each have a few minor ... morenicks on them and some loss of gold along the side edges. But nothing bad. They are unusual in that the glass was put between the gold liner and the outer frame. Perhaps there were watercolors or drawings in them originally. But there may have been paintings.
