This is an incredible antique inlay. Inlaid handcarved folk art primitive wood picture frame. The original finish has not been touched. It is probably from the 1930s. I believe the wood is pine with a couple of other woods mixed in. Since the frame was probably near heat. It has developed one of the best crackling finishes I've ever seen. Because the photo is an African-American man. I believe he or a family member or friend made it. Large Antique TRAMP ART Frame - Collectible Folk Art Primitive
Large Antique TRAMP ART FRAME This is an original piece of tramp art dating from the 1850-1899 time period. It has up to four levels of carved layering and is a very sturdy item. The frame itself measures approximately 5-3/4 pounds. It has a nice surface color which is a very old salmon over blue. Note that the close up photos appear to have a little more orange color or salmon color due to the camera flash. The o verall size is 28-1/2 inches by 24-1/4 inches. Antique/Vintage 1800's Hand Carved Tramp Art Frame. Great Condition, 17" x 13" Up for sale is an antique Folk art/Tramp art picture frame with an old picture in it. The frame is what they call Tramp Art. Over a 100 years old, hand made folk art. It's a really neat frame and definitely is old. All wood with inner Gold trim. It's in really good shape. The front has very little wear/tear, it looks like there was an additional leaf on the other top left corner, but not positive, It's solid and complete. The inside trim is gold and shows some wear. The back has no wire, Will need to be replaced. It has just about all it's nails on the back to hold the picture, very rustic backing with one split and a crack so the back piece will also would need proper repairing, there is one chunk out of the back left corner of the ... moreframe(see picture) still has the eye loops for wire, no glass.this is a great piece for collectors. The picture is an old print of the residence of Alvin Buck Esq. Co.unfortunately someone wrote $2.00 on it. I am not sure when, this frame came from a friend who has had it for many years, but the frame is the most collectible. The actual opening for the picture measures approx. 14 1/2" long x 11" tall The outside dimensions are: 17" long x 13" tall from side to side. And have remained with the original family. Early 20th Century frame is of solid construction with mitered corners and dark brown paint on plywood back. Back can easily be removed by pulling out the brads. Front of frame is dark olive green. The bonnet top contains Pennsylvania Dutch style hand painted flowers. Leaves and swirls, in greens, orange, and yellow. The painted wood has many places where the paint has flaked off. It is naturally distressed and there have been no attempts at restoration. Very good shabby chic condition. Original screw eyes and wire are intact. 18" x 14" floral print on board is in very good condition. On the back it reads"3704-2. 1/17/60" ... moreBlack vase with pink. White and yellow flowers and a green background. Also included is another varnished print that was under the floral. Antique Miter Joint Dowel Construction Folk Art Primitive Gold Gild Frame
An interesting and intricate antique primitive frame with carving and gold gilt. It measures approximately 22 3/4" wide x 26 3/4" long on the exterior. The interior measures approximately 16" x 20" including the interior lip where your photo or painting sits. It is miter joined and reinforced with dowel construction(see last 2 photos. This has some age to it and some repairs. Additionally. I notice 2 small holes on either side where one might have screwed or nailed the frame to a wall to keep it safe! What a life this piece must have seen! Someone along the way reinforced the back with L brackets too(see photo) All in all. I think it is a very funky and natural antique piece with stories to tell and another life waiting around the corner. I like it just the way it is- it is folk art all by itself.

Antique oval frame/American Eagle & Federal Shield at top/Patriotic Folk Art
A cool and unusual antique oval frame topped off with an American Eagle and Federal Shield. I would say this dates to the late 1800s to the very early 1900s. The frame and backing are brass in color- they are magnetic so my guess is that there is a brass wash over them. The eagle and shield are not magnetic and I think they are brass. Overall size is about 22" high and 14" wide. Image area is about 20" by 14. Condition is as found and as shown. Frame has not been cleaned in a million years so there is a dark patina over the brass wash. Eagle and shield show natural age patina- shield has both red and blue paint. With some minor loss to red. Sea Shell Picture Frame Victorian Memory Ware Antique Folk Art Box Water Color
This is a very interesting and beautiful frame covered entirely in sea shells it measures 15" tall by 12.5" wide and about 3" back to front of top shell. The picture inside is an original signed water color of what I think are Greek or roman ruins probably one of those paintings tourist brought home from a trip. I can't make out the signature. The condition is very nice other than it need a good cleaning it has been in an attic for a long time and is extremely dusty and dirty but I didn't want to damage it by cleaning. Antique Adirondack Victorian Folk Art Carved Picture Frame L. Lang 1860 Print
This is a charmer in so many ways. For both the frame and print. The frame is rustically carved wood, a late Victorian piece with definite folk art leanings. Inside is a terrifically evocative print of a young girl toiling over the laundry tub, her doll nearby on a spindle bed, a tea set on the table. She is dressed in a short skirt with bloomers peeking out, stockings and lace-up boots. An apron and scarf complete the look. It is signed L. Lang 1860. The frame looks to accommodate a 7 inch by 9 inch print. The frame itself is 9 inches by 11 inches and measures 13 inches by 15 inches with the extensions. There is a bit of wear, especially evident on the upper left extension as shown in the photos. Also, the gold inner frame has some wear, mostly along the top.

Measures 29 ½” by 32 ¾” this wonderful frame has a row thousands of piece ... moreof Cherry. Walnut and a third fine grained wood I cannot identify. It is not maple. The varnish finish is original and it has developed a warm color over the years. In the back the opening measures 20” by 23 ¼” with a ¾” deep rabbit. A past owner added some spacers, which are removable, along the inside edge of the opening which makes the opening slightly smaller. As you can see in our photographs, this 19 th century frame is in excellent original condition. It retains its original surface and with the exception of a couple of very tiny nicks to the inlay it is perfect. Antique Black Forest Wood Carved Picture Frame. This is a beautifully carved and layered frame with a wood back and very old nails. This is hand carved and the pieces fit together like a puzzle. I would say it has four layers. The frame has nice dimension. The picture in the frame was purchased with the frame and is a studio picture from Detroit, Michigan. It is of five females and has been tinted after developing and has that silver shine look.Sorry, old pictures confuse me) The glass in the frame was hand cut period glass and all of the pieces of wood are hand cut, as is the backing. The wire mounting wire is old and rusty. The picture is 4 x 2 1/2 and the frame measures 6 3/4" x 5 5/8" Very nice antique and it will be even prettier all cleaned and polished. Antique Primitive Rustic Folk Art Painted Double Picture Frame 4 X 6 Openings
This is a very cool looking antique primitive rustic folk art painted double picture frame. It's hard to know the exact age. But I'd estimate late 19th to early 20th century. It definitely has great age. Overall it measures 11 1/8 inches x 7 1/2 inches(28.3 cm x 19.1 cm) Each back opening size is 4 1/8 inches by 6 1/8 inches(10.5 cm x 15.6 cm) The molding is 7/8 inches wide(2.2 cm) This frame is all original and untouched. The finish has that great bubbling and crackling to it. Usually caused by heat such as from a fireplace. There are some very small areas with loss of paint. But nothing that takes away from the beauty of the frame. Each side has its original piece of bubbled and wavy glass. Though the edges are cut a little crooked. But they still look fine in the frame. The patina on this frame is just beautiful. It weighs a little ... moreover 13 1/2 ounces(384 g) It would be great for a pair of modern photos. Old oil paintings, drawings, folk art works, samplers, silhouettes, etc. It has what I always look for in frames. That wonderful old world look!
