Large Antique Pre 1900 Intricately Detailed Wooden Picture Frame
This is a quite large. Nicely detailed and very old wooden picture frame. This frame dates back to the late 1800's at least. I can attest to this as this frame and picture was in my family and I know who the picture is of. This frame measures about 30" tall and 25.5" wide. It has a glass pane covering the picture. The picture is held in place with old brad style nails. This frame is in pretty decent condition for as old as it is. The outside framework has a few spots where the finish is off but all the finely detailed inner framework looks very good. It could possibly use a little firming up by whoever buys it although it should hang well just as it is. WELCOME! You are bidding on an anitque Henry P. Smith print. The corner of the print reads"Henry P. Smith- copyright 1900- T.D. Murphy" This nice print is framed in a beautiful gold gild floral gesso on wood frame. It does have some gesso damage on the corners. But it has been touched up with paint and it is in all corners so it looks nicely symetrical. The print has descent color. The matting around it looks like it got wet in a couple places. Probably through the ripped up backing. I am not sure what is under the backing, but I did take a peak pictures behind one of the rips. It does show age and wear. Needs a good cleaning. Offered here is an original(circa 1900-1920) wooden framed, lithograph(artist unknown) affording the collector a wonderful image of a young boy, guiding a Saint Bernard with precious cargo, through the forest undergrowth along the bank of a woodland stream. The little girl tentatively clings to her brother, while riding the massive St. Bernard; leaving a cottage in the background. A beautiful image; with each child wearing attire of the times; the boy with an interesting fur cap. The early lithograph presents very well, although showing some mention worthy stress lines at the left portion of the image. The antiquarian lithograph is sealed within a wonderful ... morewooden frame(11 3/4" x 9 5/8" features unique characteristics that compliment the woodland theme; accented with leaves at each corner and highly detailed etched patterns. Antique Early 1900's Hand Made Molded Gesso Frame. Blacksmith Hammered Nails.
Early 1900's or older hand carved& molded Gesso over wood with gold painted background. In good condition with slight separation of the wood at the fitted corners but no serious damage. Minor areas of the gesso are chipped. Paint has an aged darken look. Which is right for the age. The corner fasteners are guillotine cut iron with heads striked by a blacksmith. The back is a plain rough sawn thin plank. Overall size is: height 14-1/4. Width 12-1/4, depth 1-5/8. Opening: 9-1/2 x 7-3/4. The frame is a very interesting piece of history and well made. Antique 1900's Gold hand carved gesso filigree wood frame Amazing Shabby Patina
This a Beautiful Antique hand carved frame from around the turn of the Century. Early 1900's. With intricate sculpted Gesso laid on a hand carved wood frame. Opening measures 19 1/2"L x 15 1/2"H with a 5/8" mounting inset. Actual frame has a 4" width. The Filigree scroll pattern of this frame is very detailed, with the holes having been carved out by hand(there are visible tooling marks. At over a hundred years old there is plenty of genuine wear and character. But only lost gesso on one corner and an outer edge. No glass. Which i prefer as the Post has a habitual way of breaking things. All Vintage or Antique items are represented"as is" through age and use pieces may have acquired nicks, scratches, chips and cracks, which help to develop a preferred patina, but be aware that items are represented exactly, ... moreso make sure to carefully view the High def. images and ask any questions you may have. Genuine Vintage Calendar Art with authentic wood frame from the same era. This is a really sweet and soothing picture that conjures up all the best images of bedtime and good mothering. I thing it would be lovely in a baby or child's room. I actually had it hanging in my own room for a long time as it made me think of the years of reading bedtime stories to my own(now grown) children. This quality print has a copyright mark of Bradley Knitting Company. It was common for companies to commission artists' work for advertising purposes and many a great artist had their artwork displayed on calendars. Welcome. For your consideration is a vintage late 1800's- early 1900's Eastlake style walnut and gold gesso frame. The frame is in overall good condition with the walnut having gentle wear and tear to the surface. The inner surface of the frame has several beveled edges. All four corners are in good condition with normal wear and tear but no noticeable damage. The inner gold gilt liner is in overall good condition with a slight chip near one of the edges. Art Nouveau Antique Picture Frame Here we have an antique Art Nouveau style picture frame. Stamped on it's easel is: Pat Oct 29 01(see photo) There is also marking at the bottom of it that I can't read(see last photo) Approx. Size: 5" wide x 7" ht. This is from my personal collection. I purchased this frame in an antique store in the San Francisco Bay Area back in the 1980's. I believe it could be made of brass. It has no glass. It has a nice vintage patina to it with worn spots in the finish. I have never cleaned it. It has an easel style stand. Final sale item. This is a rare large photo of a baby boy in blue dress. At that time in France. Babies boys and toddlers wore dresses until the age of 2. The original wooden and gesso frame is simply stunning. Beautifully ornate with gilded scrolls and flowers, there is a gilt cardbord with gesso scrolls as oval-shaped"marie-louise" Very minor places where the gesso has chipped and at one time. The photo has been folded, nothing that detracts and the condition is lovely for an item more than 100 year old. The true colour is on pictures 3& 4 Measurements are 18"1/2 x 15"3/4(47cm x 40cm) The central oval window is 11"1/4 x 9"1/4(28.5cm x 23,5cm) A divine framed antique photography. This belonged to my Grandma(she has passed away about 25 years ago at the age of 89) So. I am dating this picture frame back to the early 1900’s. This antique etched and beveled glass photo frame is not marked. To hold in the picture you need to unscrew the screws at each corner. It does have two small chips towards the bottom of the frame and the top of the frame looks like it is a little scratched on the other side. Otherwise to me it looks great for being this old. Nice antique Arts& Crafts Mission Oak picture frame with portrait. The frame has a glass front that is free of damage. It may need a quick spray of Windex from the inside. The oak is all in great shape considering the age of this piece. Very minor bumps here and there. Nothing unexpected, and could probably be buffed out if you thought it was needed. This piece may be a great piece to put your own photo in! The frame itself measures 22" X 26. The inside of the frame measures roughly 15.5" X 19.5. And the matted oval where the picture photo is displayed measures 13.5" X 17.5. The top of the frame is very slightly pulling away from the sides. I have not removed the photograph that came in this frame when I purchased it to clean the inside of the glass but the glass appears to be in fine condition with no chips or cracks. The wood has a very tight, fine grain, more likely cherry wood than walnut, but I am not sure. Has glass, probably original to the frame, but I cannot be certain. The glass IS old, vintage glass with included BUBBLES, so it is NOT new glass. Has the original wood backing, see photo. The frame measures 14 7/8 inches long, 12 7/8 inches wide, measured on the outside. The opening is 9 inches long, 7 inches wide. It is 1 3/4 inches deep(high) The width of the frame itself is 3 inches. Lovely large gold colored cast metal antique convex or bubble glass picture frame with antique wedding photo. Measures 16 1/4" x 25 1/2" Likely dates from the early 1900's. Condition: The frame has 3 breaks that could use soldering but not really necessary. see photos. You would never notice them passing by on a bicycle. As my grandmother used to say. Also some wear to the finish and some surface scratches here and there. The frame could use a cleaning as well. I believe this is made of celluloid or bakelite, not sure. No glass front. I don't think there ever was glass(not enough room to slide in) Condition commensurate with age. Minute areas, mainly flower petals and bottom missing. Original picture included on cardboard. This is a gorgeous antique frame. All original. This gorgeous antique frame dates from the early 1900's and is most likely French Victorian! This is a round standing picture/photo frame covered with blue silk moire material on the outside, and pink on the inside! The frame is wrapped in beautiful metallic lace trim and then decorated further with gorgeous strands of silk ribbon work roses! Back of the frame retains its original stand which is still attached by a ribbon(this is rare to find as most of these ribbons are usually broken) and a small metal hanger should you decide to hang this frame for display! The photo opening is on the back of this frame and features its original two metal clips which open and close! The old original wavy glass covers the front photo opening!
