I have up for sale a very nice vintage original Antique circa early 1900s gold or brass toned metal Ribbon Top bubble glass oval picture frame. The frame including the ribbon top measures approx 22" top to bottom. The oval approx 20" top to bottom by 14" wide. The inside measurements for the photo or picture would be approx 19" x 13.5" The frame is made of metal- it magnetizes and has a gold or brass tone plating. The top ribbon section does not magnetize- not sure if it is brass or not. The frame is in Excellent Original Condition and comes with the original rope twist wall hanger accoutrement. This nicely preserved 1880s frame was converted to a shadow box back in the 1950s or 60s. It could easily be reversed by removing the plywood on the back if you like. The frame measures 12 ½” x 14 ½” with a reveal of 7 ½” x 9 ½” and a back opening of 8” x 10” The depth of the box is 3 ¾” overall; 3 3/8” without the rabbet. This is a beautiful pair of antique Victorian Eastlake gold gilt Aesthetic Movement frames. They date from the 1880s to the 1890s. They do have some minor gesso loss. But otherwise they are in very good condition. They're a really pretty pair of frames. With wonderful detail. The inside section is partially gold gilded and partially painted gold. The exterior section is molded gesso over wood with copper and bronze color metallic leaf. Popular during the anesthetic movement period. This is an Antique Picture Frame. It dates from the mid 1800's and measures 12 3/16ths by 14 3/16ths inches. It is black lacquer over wood with gold gilt. This is frame in frame construction. One wood frame inside another. The outer frames black lacquer is cut or carved to reveal the chalk or plaster underneath that is over the wood. Shown in my photos is a corner view of the construction and a view of each corners hand cut decoration. It has a cheezy 1960's Robert Wood copy print in it, I'm sure you can do better than that! Good condition for its years, but not without minor flaws.

Vintage wood and gesso picture frame. Scalloped border with a raised center line and then interior pattern. The frame measures 11-1/4 inches by almost 7-1/4 inches on the outside. The interior of the frame measures approximately 6 inches by just over 10 inches. Gold gilt exterior. In good condition with a little age and wear. The one corner has a small crack. This is a gorgeous old double frame! Has lots of wonderful thick and raised gesso designs! Floral and acanthus leaves in gilded copper on the outer frame. Vines and tree branch in gilded gold on the inner frame. Outer frame measures 3" wide. 19" across, 21" long. Inner frame is 2" wide. 14" across, 16" long. Opening is 10 1/2" across. 12 1/4" long. Inner frame needs to be reattached to outer frame in some places. Outer frame is gapping at the corners. Very little gesso is missing. Just on the corners of the large frame. Large antique Aesthetic Period picture frame/gold leaf/beautifully crafted
A large and very impressive antique frame of the American Aesthetic Period. Circa 1880-90. It is oak with wonderful and sophisticated decoration and design. It looks like the oak is washed in gold and the decorative elements around the borders are finished with gold leaf. There are also some black paint appointments on some of the flowers and the beading. I don't know who made this frame but it is of the best craftsmanship. There are some numbers on the back that may be a clue to the maker. Overall size of the frame is 31" by 36. Interior rabbet is 22" by 27. Condition is as found and as shown. There are a few beads lost and the interior liner shows some loss by rubbing- probably a maid with a water-based cloth that removed some of the leaf. The patina is great and might even be better once dusted and cleaned up a bit. Pair Ornate Aesthetic Movement Art Nouveau Antique Gold Gilded Frames
This is a beautiful pair of ornate antique gold gilded frames. I would date them late 19th century. They seem to have an Aesthetic Movement feeling to them as well as a sense of Art Nouveau. Talk about a gorgeous pair of frames! The detail on them is just lovely. And the gold color is simply beautiful. They are very well-made and must have been very expensive in their day. They are of such good quality that they appear to be handcarved. But I believe they are applied compo. Overall. Each measures 17 1/4 inches x 20 1/4 inches(43.82 cm x 51.44 cm) The back opening sizes are 14 1/8 inches x 17 1/8 inches(35.8 cm x 43.5 cm) The moldings are 1 3/4 inches wide(4.45 cm) One has its original wood backing. Each has hairline cracks on them due to age. But these definitely do not take away from the look of the frames. They also each have a few minor ... morenicks on them and some loss of gold along the side edges. But nothing bad. They are unusual in that the glass was put between the gold liner and the outer frame. Perhaps there were watercolors or drawings in them originally. But there may have been paintings. I'm just not sure. They have developed a really beautiful warm. Golden patina. Together they weigh 10 lbs. 13 oz. 4.9 kg) They were definitely made by a very skilled and talented framemaker.
