Measures almost 16 inches long and approximately 2 inches tall and 2 1/2 inches wide. Inside measurement opening to hold the fan is 11 1/8 inches long with the end side of the fan opening is almost 1 1/4 inches. This used to belong to my grandmother who died back in 1966 and has sat in my parent's garage in storage. Not seeing the light of day for almost 47 years. Intricate antique hand carved bone/ivory baby rattle. We are not sure if it is carved from bone or from ivory. This antique baby rattle appears to be of oriental origin. There are no identification markings but clearly the carvings were done from someone very talented and patient. There appears to be a repair but done quite nicely. The round on the very top has some pieces missing. There is a nice little bell rattle sound coming from inside when you shake it. There is green twine tied on the end of the rattle so one could possibly hang it up. Rattle measures 4 1/4" long with the round top to be 1 1/2" Acquired from a New Hampshire Estate Sale.

Up for bid is an antique hand held fan. This fan has the look of old oil cloth. the handles are wrapped with black cloth. There's round headed nails in the ends where the fan attaches. The fan closed measures 8 3/4" long. When the fan is opened it measures 12 3/4" long. This is in pretty good condition for its age. It is fragile but still opens well. Antique Hand Fan, Framed, From Late 1800s, French
The is a beautiful old fan with the signs of age(some cracks on the folds. One stick had been broken and the right guard had been broken and glued) the best way to display this lovely fan was to frame it. It has three cartouches, surrounded by sequins and spangles. The paintings were done in gouache and the overall fan was of a netting. It has a twisted brass loop. This fan dates from the 1850- 1890. It measures 15-3/4" in width times 8-3/4" in height. The goldtoned frame is 19-1/2" wide and 11-3/4" high. As I noted with my other fan. I can take the back off from the frame and wrap the fan carefully so that there's no damage in the mailing. All you'd have to do is put the back onto the frame. This is up to you but I recommend this- I wouldn't want the fan to be damaged. Antique 18th C. Hand Painted Tray Depicting Peter the Great
Up for auction is a unique and gorgeous toleware tray. It features a handpainted scene of Peter the Great and is dated in the 18th Century. The oil painting depicts Peter the Great in a meeting scene. Possibly after signing the treaty. The tray is forged and riveted, has soldered handles, and ornate fret work. It measures a huge 28" L x 22"W x 1.50" D and weighs about 7.5 lbs. It has a wire in the back for hanging on the wall. Please take a look at the pictures for all the details. There is some craquelure which is to be expected for something of this age. Also, there is some rust on the metal fret work as well as some separation to it as well. It could benefit from a good cleaning. Antique hand painted floral wood folding screen with three hinged panels. Has a brass plate on bottom marked"No. 2860 F.B.M. Co. Hoboken, N.J" This stands for Ferguson Bros Manufacturing company, which was begun in the late 19th century and merged with another company and changed names in 1953. They billed themselves as manufacturers of"furniture novelties" and listed some of their products as"folding screens, folding tables, cedar chests. etc. I believe this folding screen dates to the turn of the century and may have been used as a summer screen in front of a fireplace to make it decorative when not in use. The center panel has two legs- the side panels do not have legs. The brass hinges, which I believe may be the originals, allow the side panels to fold either behind the main screeen, or fold in front of the main ... morepanel. I believe the screws are replacements of the original ones. I have given one photo showing the combination of screws which replace the original hardware(see photo 11) Measurements: to the highest point it is 32" high.the middle panel is 18" wide. And the two flanking panels are each 9" wide. The total width with side panels open is 36 3/4" Condition(on a scale of poor. Fair, good, very good, excellent: Very Good. I am taking marks off because a few bits of paint have flaked off and because the paint has crazing. Antique Painted Hand Fan, Signed I. Stoudez, Circa 1880
This huge fan needs alot of loving! The gouache painting in the middle of the fan. By fan artist, I. Stoudez, is absolutely adorable. The three putti are playing various musical instruments- look at those beautiful faces! The white mother of pearl guards and sticks are beautiful, decorated with gold leaf, except the left guard is broken(photo 5)some glue could take care of that) and there had been some repairs on the central sticks. It's the leaf that shows it's age. I see lots of perfume stains and there are small holes and splits on some parts of the leaf. Above the putti on the right are three blobs of stain. I think I highlighted all the defects in the photos. There are mother of pearl washers and a lovely brass loop. The back has been reinforced with a gauze backing by a professional conservator to keep the fan from ripping more. ... moreThis fan needs lots of TLC. Antique Hand Fan, Painted & Signed by Albert, 1890s
This stunning fan has some stain& tear issues. The signed painting of a man& woman is beautiful. Signed by Albert, a famous fan painter of that time. There are many perfume stains on either side of the painting and a couple of tears in the fabric on the right side. The back is plain and in terrible shape. A good conservator can put a gauze backing on the back. I don't know what can be done about the stains. The painting part would be fabulous framed, if one wants to take the leaf off of the sticks. The mother of pearl sticks and guards are in perfect condition and an absolutely beautiful color- I can see pinks and greens among the golden MOP! The rivet and loop are brass. The fan measures 13-1/2" long and 24-1/4" wide when open- a large fan and really beautiful!

Superb antique gilt and hand-painted papier-mache tray Cherries and flowers 19c
Description: Superb antique papier-mache paper-mache tray with a lush gilt background. On which is painted cherries and flowers. The background gilding is actual hand-applied gold gilding that has been varnished before painting(it's applied in squares, the outlines of which are still visible) Has some damage commensurate with the materials, age and use: a scratch at the top(doesn't go through the painted cherries/flowers) a break along the border, some peeling of the black lacquer underside, spots of wear on the surface and along a part of the edge(see pix) All could be repaired fairly easily, but it actually displays quite nicely as is. Unsure of exact age and origin; I originally thought it might be old European papier-mache, but now think it's possibly nineteenth-century, of the Aesthetic era(I have a painted faux-lacquer box ... morefrom that era that has the materials and the same peeling on the underside) Most of my items are vintage or antique and may have normal wear commensurate with age. Description: Fan of Chinoiserie Design with Mother of Pearl Sticks and Guards with a Hand-Painted Vellum Leaf and gilt metal dragon/snake finial on base of sticks. French. Circa 1770- 1800. The fan is decorated on both sides. The leaf is comprised of vellum paper painted in watercolor and gouache. The sticks are made of carved and pierced mother-of-pearl, which also depicts Chinoiserie design and two painted landscape vignettes on the front side. Slight wear to surface paint throughout with minor areas of flaking paint loss, particularly within painted vignettes on sticks.
