A superb Cranberry Glass Swing Handled Basket from the Art Deco period. The basket has a beaded handle and pierced decoration featuring entwined fish fountai ns. Peacocks and decorative urns. The deep bowl is fitted with a delightful clear cranberry red glass liner. The overall effect is stunning. The Basket is a remarkable example of high quality antique continental electroplated ware.There are no marks but the style. Quality and Art Deco motifs would, in my opinion, place it in the first decades of the last century. It came to me as part of a collection of edwardian silverware. The basket is10.5cm tall and 15cm with the handle raised. The cranberry glass bowl is 10.5cm wide and 7 cm deep. The basket alone weighs 186grams and 490 grams together with the glass liner. Glass prisms of varying lengths are suspended from the body of each luster. Each are 14 3/8" tall with a mouth and base diameter of 6 5/8" and 6" respectively. Rolled in silver foil, and cased again in crystal, and then formed into an unusual cylindrical profilef with a bulb in the neck, and with a bulbous shape bottom. Rim is ground flat. Foot is fired smooth crystal. Cased glass with pink. Canary and white spatter along with the addition of silver foil for a pretty silver spangle. The colors are outstanding. Beautifully applied ... morespiral pincered trail worked in the shape of stylized daisies. Alot of skilled craftsmanship went into the making of this little gem. Just think how long this little bushel basket has been around! At least 100 years? We certainly believe so. As the classic Northwood logo is present on the inside bottom of the piece. The prismatic colors that appear when light hits it are dominated by gold, but has some blues and pastels. This piece has definitely traveled, as it has the scars of its life to prove it. This one looks awesome with great Art Deco lines and a green glass panel that must look awesome when lit up and makes this one much more desireable for display purposes as this is one of the earliest examples. I'm not sure how this works It has 2 foot switches but not sure how they work one is marked Victor. This is very heavy and a well built machine. In 1893 C.F. Samms and J.B. Want were making dental engines and beer pumps. And by October 1895 had a staff of 6 in a 30 square meter basement and a capital of $3,000 invested in Victor Electric Co. Vintage Mary Gregory Style Sugar Shaker Art Glass Muffineer Antique
Mary Gregory Type Sugar Shaker Not sure of maker. Origin, nor exact age. Measures approximately 3-1/4” tall. Weighs 5.6 ounces. Mary Gregory style. But not sure of maker, nor origin. It definitely looks to be an early piece, but also not sure of the exact age. This is the lid that came with the shaker, but I have no idea if it is original or not. It may very not be original. I apologize for my ignorance. The top edge has the expected crudeness– worn and dulled with bite roughness. And one side of the top edge has several chips that may or may not be maker related. There are other signs of maker related crudeness. Such as several air bubbles, blisters, swirls and that sort of thing. The interior of the back has a hump of sort in the making that measures over 1” long. You can’t really feel it from the outside, but if you rub your finger along ... morethe inside, you can definitely feel it. You can also easily see this minor deformity if you hold the shaker up under a light and twist it back and forth. This maker related imperfection is not a big deal. But I noticed it, so I wanted to make sure I brought it to your attention. The lower left area of the illustration has a 1/16” discolored blemish. And the top area of the painting has some dirt or related crud in some of the crevices. I see a couple tiny bites to the painting. The backside has a faint approximate 1-1/4” scratch going along the top area. And beneath an air bubble on the lower back, there is 1/4” area of scratching. You will find some other minor surface blemishes here and there to the rest of the shaker. The lower back also has an approximate 3/16” area of paint that is presumably related to the illustration. The underside has light scratching and dullness(table wear) The lid has a nasty amount of rust related discoloration. Dulled and worn. The lid also looks to have a bit of waviness and related bending. But it screws on and off well enough. This neat old shaker is well represented in the pics that I have provided. Antique Bohemian Art Glass Basket Shape can be seen in a 1892 Butler Brothers catalog. Blown of cased glass and has a pressed(16 Rib) Puffy pressed pattern. Interior is white and exterior is of a Spatter or aka End of the Day decor. Colours depict the Autumn season. oxblood red. And yellow. Handle is crystal with pinched thorns and is applied on the outside of the bowl. Ruffled rim is crimped and the bottom of the base has a polished pontil. Blown Basket Mom and dad collected antiques for over 40 years. Dad often would make a card on some of their more special items, the following is from his writeup: Blown Basket. Basket is 6" diameter. 6 1/2" high, top has a 5/8" wide rim of light green glass, top is folded back on body to form(6) 1 1/2" high points. Bottom is clear and is folded somewhat like top to provide(6) 1 1/2" long feet. Basket is somewhat pear shape with top 1/3 shading to opaque white with a band of irregular 1" areas of clear. Antique Czechoslovakian? Multi Color Art Glass 3 Piece Groups Fruits Flowers
This Auction is for 3 individual clusters of varying sizes of antique mini pieces of flowers. Leaves, and fruits probably from Czechoslovakia. The largest group is approximately 7 1/2" long and 3" high. The medium cluster is 6" long and 2" high. The smallest cluster is 7 1/2" around. The assembled combination of flowers, leaves and fruits are wired together in an array of amethyst, green, pink and vaseline colored pieces along with clear and frosted ones. As seen in the photos many of the glass flowers are faceted. Some of the pieces in each cluster have nicks, scratches and chips, not uncommon considering the age of the pieces and the type of arrangement. Thank you for viewing these items. Wonderful Antique Thorn Applied Handle Dimpled Ruffled Overshot Art Glass Basket
From an old estate. Lovely and very unusual mouth blown antique dimpled with ruffled top edge and applied thorn decorations twisted top handle art glass basket. The basket body has random spattered red and green glass with an overshot finish. This piece was probably made in Czechoslovakia in the 1930's but it has no marking. It has no damage. It is about 6 1/2" high and 5 1/2" across the top ruffled opening. A most unusual art glass basket!
