vintage antique Czech miniature jeweled picture frame w original picture of girl
This is an exquisite antique miniature picture frame marked Czechoslovakia. It is metal of some sort and is jeweled with green. Gold, and rose pink colored jewels. There is some rub off of the finish to some of the ornate areas but I think it just adds to the character. The little frame has a very very special feature- the original picture of a little curly topped girl walking through the field in the sunlight. She is darling. The original glass is stuck to the picture and I have not tried to remove it. There is a section that looks like the picture is cracked and it is hard to show that in photos. This petite frame is approximately 2 and 7/8" tall. It is fabulous. I have many beautiful designer and vintage fashions currently at auction and will be happy to combine shipping on multiple wins. This antique or vintage oval brass picture frame is 2 ¼ inches wide and 3 inches tall. And the viewable area is about 2 ½ inches tall and a little under 2 inches wide. It has a plain design with a beaded edge. And an easel back for standing. The back and glass just push out of the frame for inserting the picture. This is made from brass. Or a metal with a brass finish, I’m not sure which. The glass has quite a few chips around the edge which for the most part are covered by the frame. But there is one at the top that you can see if you are looking for it– see 2 photos with arrows of this one spot. It is more noticeable in the photos than it looks on the actual frame. The metal has a warm aged color that is darkened and somewhat uneven. Overall good vintage condition on this charming little frame. It currently frames a brass metal calla lily decoration on a flocked or velveteen background, but this can be removed and replaced with a photo, picture, print or even a miniature painting. The frame itself measures about 6 inches long by 5 inches wide at the longest and widest points. The image area measures about 4 1/2 inches long and about 3 1/2 inches wide as measured from the back. The backing is made of leatherette composite board with a little hook for hanging and there are four little metal prongs to hold things in place. These prongs can be opened and closed with a small pliers or other tool. This frame is in very good condition with some old dust in the crevices. And has a beautiful floral design with a blue background, and an oval center for the photograph. Colors are white, pink, purple, yellow, green, orange, red, and various colors of blue. This has a brass background, with a wire stand on the back. This little frame measures 1 1/2" X 1 13/16" It is in good condition. With all of the glass pieces intact. The brass stand and back work well. It looks like there might have been 2 tiny feet attached, as there is a spot on the base on each side. It still sits good and level without these. Upon close inspection with a loop, there are 4 or 5 small pieces of the mosaic glass that are chipped off on the top, but the lower portion ... moreremains, with the design showing. You cannot really see this with the normal eye. A really lovely little piece of Italian mosaic inlay for your vanity or collection of antique picture frames. Thanks!
