I am not an expert of art. But, I would date this print and frame to the late 19th or perhaps the early 20th century. The frame is lovely with deep well effect. There is one area on the bottom where some of the gold has chipped off, very small and hard to see as someone tried to cover it. This could easily be repaired and covered. Antique Victorian Girl w/ Dog Litho Print in Ornate Gold Gilt Wood & Gesso Frame
This is a fantastic antique lithograph print of a young girl playing with her teddy bear and her dog. The colors are beautiful and bold but may be slightly faded. And look excellent in the gold gilt frame. The print is slightly wavy but does not have any creases or tears, or water damage. The frame is in good condition with some small chips of gesso missing that are not obvious because they have been touched up with gold paint. The entire frame looks like it may have been re-painted at one time but still looks slightly darkened from age. The glass, print, and cardboard back panel are held snugly in place with some wooden slats that are nailed to the back with three pieces of a yard stick placed behind them. There is a wire screwed onto the back for wall hanging. Lovely ANTIQUE Victorian Young Girl PRINT Wood Frame
From an old Estate and we have a beautiful Victorian print of a lovely young Girl! We've seen this print once before. And can't recall the name of it, and its probably stated on the print under the old matting. Its frame measures 19 1/4" long by 11 1/4" wide. The print itself is 17" by 8 7/8" the matting being around 1/2" wide. Although we can't find a date on the bottom as it is probably under the matting, it is more than likely from the early 1900's. It is in an old wood frame that does have numerous scuffs or nicks in the wood, see photos. We have provided many pictures from different angles trying to capture the Beauty of the print with out having any reflections in the glass for you. The print itself is in wonderful condition for its age as we see no damage, maybe a couple of small spots on the ... moreprint or on the back side of the glass, very very faint, you can see the one, right above her right shoulder, the other a 1/2 inch above that, they show worse in the photos than in person. No foxing to the print, still has its muted although gorgeous coloring. We didn't clean the outside of the glass. Until after we took the photos, duh, now its even prettier. Beautiful Antique 1800's Victorian Picture Frame W/ Little Girl and Kitten Print
This is a beautiful antique late 1800's picture frame and print all is original. Is in very good condition for being well over 100 years old. It is made of metal I believe it to be brass and is painted with a gilded gold color. It is all hand crafted and has beautiful ornate design patterns on both bottom and top of the frame as well as beautiful scrolled floral designs on the side. You will not see another one like this on e-bay. It is very unique and rare. It is a larger frame approx. 26 inches high by 20 1/2" wide. This is a wonderful antique Victorian ceramic wall plaque from the 1800s featuring a lovely girl in green amidst purple flowers. The plaque is shaped like a tray. But it has two holes for hanging. It is rimmed in gold and green. There is a name for this, but I don't know what it is. The plaque is in great shape, especially for its age. It has no cracks or chips. Beautiful piece. You can see very sharp details in this image. Maybe it is a woodcut? We were lucky to come across it from an estate sale. We have not opened up the frame but it appears to be an oval shape with an off white matte surrounding the print. VERY GOOD Condition. Does have a vertical scratch in the image where the dog is. An inner frame of old gilt and porcelain buttons highlight the frame. Three of the 4 buttons are present. Frame measures 17" x 15" the criss-crossed frame displays an image 11 3/4" x 9 1/2" The lithographic print is mounted behind glass and is of a blond girl kneeling in prayer. What is really nice about the print is the interior of the room which has a lot of detail. The carpet is a bright design in what looks like latch-hook. The table is draped with what looks like a Kilim and there are ruffles. Fringes and tassels all over the place. Ve ry reflective of the style. The girl's face is illuminated with a sun beam and ... morethere is a robin outside the window. Except as noted. Both the frame and the print are in very good condition with a bit of ripple note to the print, but no creases and has not paper losses, tears or breaks. I can't tell if the glass is original or not. The print does have some fly specks on the exposed back side and there are some scraps of old tape along the edges in back that I have not attempted to remove but which would indicate that the frame was opened at some point. So charming and detailed. It is made of wood. But the tiger grain seems painted on.as I believe was the fashion. What I see as different is the design found at the top, bottom and sides. Also, this does not have the convex mirror.which frankly I like better. The size is impressive.17-1/4" tall. 14" wide. The area for the photo is 12-7/8" long and 9-7/8" wide.making a photo of at least 13" x 10" necessary. Antique Victorian Girl Child Portrait in Floral Gesso Wood Frame, Convex Glass
This is a fantastic original Victorian photograph of a young child from around the turn of the century. The frame is original with no missing gesso. But it looks like it was probably re-painted long ago. It does have some darkened age spots and hairline cracks in the gesso, but nothing is loose or missing. The photo is in good condition with no visible staining, but there are some damaged spots along the edge where the old nails poked through and scratched the surface of the photo. There is a new cardboard panel over the back and the nails have all been replaced. Then hanging wire is just an old piece of electrical cord wrapped around screws on each side and could use an upgrading. The glass is the original convex glass and has some visible bubbles, bumps, and waves in it. The outer measurements of the frame are 19" W x 25" H. Photo Little Girl w Flowers This lovely little 8” by 6” Victorian Brass frame was unfortunately painted a dull gold some time ago which obscures some of this elegant little frame’s molded brass details. The frame has large open blossoms on each corner with a tiny little ornament which resembles an open delicate pea pod. The main rectangular frame is edged with scrolls. Curlicues, rose buds, open blossoms, even a few tiny blossoms mixed into its ornate golden border. The photograph’s inner frame is a simple border of small alternating orbs& abstract shapes. The back of the frame is plain& simple, yet elegant in its rectangular lines which meet at right angles on the corners. Up for bids is a wonderful old picture of a boy and girl. Most likely brother and sister. I am dating it to 1880– 1899 period. The frame measures a large 22” long by not quite 16” wide. Often these black and white photos had hand color tinting on the faces to enhance the photograph as seen in this photo. The REAL photograph is in very good condition but there are some very tiny minute specks on the girl’s face and some on the boy’s skin. The tiger print frame is made of wood gesso with a tiger grain and is in very good condition for its age. However there are two hairline areas in the wood paint. One is approximately at 9 o’clock and the other at 6:35 o’clock. These areas are not broken and really don’t effect the frame itself. The wood frame could use a bit of cleaning or polishing. I will let that up to you. Someone has covered the original ... morecardboard backing with newer cardboard and newer old newspaper. The newspaper has articles from World War II. The old original nails are still in the frame but since the backing was coming loose. I attached the backing with more new nails. 19TH CENTURY ANTIQUE VICTORIAN'GIRL WITH LILY' LITHOGRAPH& GOLDEN GESSO on LARGE WOOD RECTANGULAR PORTRAIT FRAME which is tiered& deep with ORIGINAL 19TH CENTURY PERIOD COVER GLASS& original wood backing boards. The large piece of glass is original to the frame and to the period-it has one crack on the lower right corner. I do not see any other large cracks-has one small deep scratch or thin surface crack at lower middle center-looks like deep scratch or thin surface crack at that area, no chips and since the crack is on lower bottom right and closed I do think that the glass is a keeper and can still be used here-please see pics provided of this feature. The large 19th century antique Victorian golden gesso on tiered wood portrait frame measures approx. 27.25" tall x 18" wide x 2.25" deep. There is thick ... moreswirled gesso acanthus leaves and shell designs in raised high relief all around the frame. The frame is wood with the gesso raised relief shells and acanthus leaf decoration(see pics) The gesso decoration in raised relief shows some gesso chips and loss(see pics) and gesso has wear and paint has loss and fading as well(see pics) Frame is intact and can be hung. Would be lovely to use as is as prints are so adorable and exemplary of the Victorian era. Clothes hair and all. Both frames are gold tone with lovely leaf scroll work. The frame with the little boy has one piece of the gold tone scroll that has popped loose. It needs to be soldered back on but there is no broken pieces on the scroll. The right side looking at the picture seems to be a bit loose as well, again no broken pieces.
