But we are guessing it is from the early 1880's. It looks to be signed with a name and the year 87 on the bottom right corner. It has a gorgeous Victorian carved floral design frame. The base of picture fr ame appears to be made of wood. And not sure what the top layer is made of. either uniquely carved wood or bakelite. It is intricately designed and lovely! The picture frame measures about 14.5 inches across x 17 inch tall. The actual area for framing(from lip to lip of framing area) is 10 1/ 2 inches across x 13 inches from top to bottom. This frame is in good condition for how old it is. I actually bought this picture for the frame. But I didn't have the heart to remove this lady& her butterflies from their"home" The frame seems a bit long(approximately 20 1/4" x 10 1/4" for the picture, but if you look at the back of the frame it's obvious that they've been together for a long time. I believe it is made of wood and the finish is a golden brown. Also, it's ready to hang and has a beautiful ornate design. It appears to be a chalk drawing signed by the artist. LEO FAULKNOR 1917. This is a very nice signed.925 stamped with other hallmarks picture frame with brown velvet back from a non smoking climate controlled home. Overall width is 2 1/2 and height measured is 3 5/8. The image view through the glass is 2 1/2 inches high x 1 1/2 inch wide. The last photo is an attempt to show the hallmarks. It is clearly marked 925 and has other hallmarks which I cannot identify. This is part of an ongoing downsizing, and ill be listing many other fine items as the weeks come. Questions welcome. The frame features a scenic, birds and trees, motif which encompasses the entire face of the frame. The frame is signed both at the top and at the bottom corners. The colors are a golden brown/tan background with black accents. The sides, bottom and top of the frame are grooved with a black finish over golden brown/tan. The backing is black. It has also been enameled on the lower level with green paint and the roses and other foliage have been painted pink. Red and green. The latticework on top, bottom and both sides has also been painted green. The frame could be arts and crafts, or tramp art, and now may be considered shabby chic. Up for your review and consideration is this gorgeous wood gold gilt picture frame oil on canvas I call it the Pied Piper. This and some other I will be listing are part of my mother's estate who had a huge house and used to have art work all over the place. It is oil on canvas as you can see the thread at the bottom of the frame in picture#5. The print is in very good condition. It is signed by Kalien or something like that and underneath is number 63 see picture# 7. I guess it was painted in 1963. The colors are magnificent. The pictures serve as part of the description. This is a beautiful antique wooden picture frame. It's highly carved and nicely detailed as you can see in the pictures. The bottom edge has holly leaves and berrys. The top and sides have what may be poinsettias? I'm not sure. The detail is highlighted in a gold/copper color. What a wonderful patina this has! There are a couple chips on the top right& left corners. But nothing serious. There is a companion insert that fits inside the frame and is attached with very tiny nails. On the back at the bottom is written[in script] what looks like: Georgia Williamson in his first suit& pants. December 25, 1898. For your consideration is a gorgeous easel back Victorian 19th century photo frame marked France Depose D&C on the back of both legs of the frame(see photos) The frame is typical French during the late 19th. Early 20th century. Garland decorates the top and bottom of the frame with cross arrows top center. The glass is new(I had it specially cut)and it fits perfectly into the cabinet back compartment. The easel is intact with a bit of a bend to it. The brass backing is fairly scratched up but the condition is commiserate with its' age. Measures 6 1/4" high by 4" across at its' widest point. Fine Regency style French ormolu picture frame with floral and ribboned finial. Outside measurement is 9 1/4 by 5 5/8 inches wide. The insert measurement is 7 1/4 long and 4 3/4 inches wide. The easel is 7 3/4 inches long all the tabs are in tact. One tab upper left is smaller than the others but there and still useable. For your consideration is an original French Depose Frame from Paris ornately decorated with ribbon. Cross bow torches and leaves. The frame has substantial weight and I am guessing its either cast iron or brass. The glass is not original, has little chips in the corners(not visible though) and slides a bit but it will suffice if you chose not to replace the glass. The back of the frame attests to its old age. The metal is well worn however glimpses of brass still peek through. So it is safe to say the cabinet back IS brass. Also note that the easel back is intact and works just fine. The frame measures 51/2" by 51/4" The photo is a reprint of a Ziegfeld Folly actress, c1915-1920. However. There is a new epoxy that just came out last year that will set this piece back in place permanently. Or, you can take a pretty piece of satin ribbon and thread it through the scrolling leaf pattern and hang the frame on the wall. The overall condition is very, very good but for the broken easel back. The original silver patina is worn a very tiny bit due to age but overall shows very, very well.
