Up for auction: A great matching pair of mid to late 1800's personal oval picture frames. Both made of solid mahogany and each measuring 3 3/4" x 5" the open picture size and 7" x 8" the frame size. The frames are sturdy, strong and in good condition for the age, the paint or stain looks decades old and the frames need minor cosmetic care( cleaned or refurbished. The glasses are original and good( the frames are older pieces, as the glasses are rectangular. Oval glasses were developed late 1800's. Please add $3.00 for tracking and insurance, if requested. Pair Of Antique Art Nouveau Gold Picture Frames. This is a Pair Of Large Antique Art Nouveau Gold Gilt Convex Oval Wood Frames With Pictures. The dimensions are: 25 inches by 19 inches. Captain Joseph and Hannah Juliand settled in Hornby, NYS, now known as Greene, NY. Their son, Joseph Juliand, along with his wife Cornelia, opened the Juliand House in 1810. This inn is still an ongoing business in Greene as a successful bed& breakfast. These early framed pictures were taken out of the bed& breakfast. We have been unable to find photographs of Joseph and Cornelia, but logic would suggest they are of the Juliand House originators.

Antique Victorian Pair Large Oval Black & Gold Wood and Gesso Picture Frames
This is a stunning pair of antique Victorian era oval picture frames that are identical and in very good condition. All of the floral gesso designs on the frame are complete and intact and the wood is excellent. The paint is all intact(a few scratches have been touched up but they blend in well) The black is still glossy and not faded and the areas of floral gesso have gold accents. There is no glass included for either. And the photos that are in the frames are rough. There are screws on the back with wire attached for wall hanging, but the wire will probably need to be tightened or replaced because it seems to be too long. The frame dimensions are 21" W x 25" H. The opening is for a picture measuring 16" x 20" They could be converted to horizontal frames if the screws were placed differently. These items will be packed ... morewell with care and insured.

This listing is for a matched pair of Victorian era oval wood frames. These are in great condition with wonderful finish. The gold liner may be brass or metal. These have the old wavy glass and appear to be constructed with square nails. The frames are 14" by 12" and 1 1/2" deep. The opening in the back is 8" by 10" In addition to the great frames these have antique magazine advertisements in them. The prints( appear to be from Le Bon Ton which was a high fashion magazine similar to Vogue today. It advertised the latest in fashion. I had a person who speaks french try to read the writing. He said it gave the address of Mr. Leontine. 64 Rivoli Street, Paris. He said this was likely the designer or tailor for the dresses. Beautiful pair of matching metal frames with convex"bubble" glass. The glass measures 13.5" X 10.5" The frames can be hung vertically or horizontally. They come with the original tinted wedding photos of an immigrant couple from the turn of the century. On one of the frames there is a back tab broken off but the tab is there. The frames are made of some kind of gold plated plastic material. They are in great condition, I do not see any damage- very minor rubbing. The PICTUREs inside the frames are printed ON TEXTILE type material, and are made to be slightly puffed out of the frames. They are beautiful victorian style pictures. The first is a scene of a man& woman sitting under a tree, the second a scene of well dressed victorian people visiting in a garden. The second picture is missing the closing clasp and hanger- but could be hung another way. The frames measure 11 1/2" tall and approx 7 1/2" at the widest part across. Also the pictures and backer board are held in by staples. There are holes in 4 places around each frame. There are 3 in the frame with the print in it and none for the other frame. Up for bidding is an Antique Pair of Victorian Pastel Framed Prints under Glass with a Wooden Oval"Mat" inside the rectangular frames. Pastel shades of blue highlight the background of one lovely damsel whose dress has a dark blue bow at the neck and matching blue ribbon on the sleeves. The other enchanting lady has j ewels in her hair and on her wist and she is wearing a deep burgundy robe with white fur trim over her lovely gown. She is holding a rose upside down in her hands. Each is in a sturdy solid wood frame with a gold tone finish and have a wooden cream with gold streaked oval"mat" with gold trim that e ncircles each lovely lady. There are no hallmarks as to the country or region of origin. Age, artist, medium, etc… Each framed print has a string across the back that has been used for hanging in the past. These are two vintage flower pictures in metal frames with red velvet for the backs; which I am guessing Italy but there are no marks on the frames to say where they are from. Both frames are in very good condition and the metal hangers are attached as part of the frame. The glass is also in good condition on both of them and has a slight bevel to it. You are bidding on a RARE PAIR OF MINIATURE OVAL WALNUT SHADOW BOX FRAMES WITH CALIFORNIA SEA MOSS DIORAMAS. These would be great for showcasing antique images. Though I hated to remove what appear to be the original plant life dioramas. ONE of the frames has a tiny Wedgwood Jasperware Type decoration attached to the little hanging bail- the hanger is stamped: Hampden, Patented 7/27/1915. Don't know if this is the original bail, or if this was added later, because I actually thought that the frames were earlier than that. The frames measure 6 7/8" X 5 3/4" The sight openings measure Approximately 3 3/4" X 3" there is a paper backing so, I don't know the size of the opening from the back.
