The outer dimensions of this antique frame are approx. 21 3/4" x 25 3/4" The inside dimensions. What size print will fit, are approx. 14 1/2" x 18 1/2" of course, you could also use a mat) The ornate borders are wood, most of the ones you find have a plaster or gesso that is molded to shape. It is 9 5/8" across 11 5/8" tall the molding is 1 1/2" wide and it would fit a picture 7 1/16" by 9 1/16" The frame shows some wear from use. A few bumps and scuffs, and a corner bump, and the wood is dry, it could use some oil or a polish.

Large Oak Picture Frame 29" x 25" Comes with Picture but Picture Scuffed Up
I'm only really concerned with the frame. The picture is scruffed up a little and there is no glass. I'm just leaving the picture inside and let the buyer do what they want with it. The back of the frame was sealed with paper. But was ripped open and I tried to rip off the rest of the paper, but there is still some of the residue(somewhat sticky) on the back where the paper had attached to the frame. It also has a wire hook on the back(attaching from one side to the other) The outside of the picture frame measures approximately 29" x 25" Since the frame is approximately 2 1/2 inches. This is a great looking antique Arts and Crafts handcarved picture frame with painted shields. I would date it very early 20th century. The carved pieces remind me of American flag shields. But I'm really not sure what they represent. It's a very decorative frame with a very handsome look about it. It has a number of great old wormholes or beetle holes on the bottom area. But the bugs are gone. There is a chipped piece of carving on the left side. As you can see in the photo. It is about 3/8 inches wide. Also. The bottom right-hand corner has a slight chip on the corner, also shown in a photo. Fine and handsome antique picture frame. 19th- early 20th century, of gilded oak, the slightly inward-angled rails approx. 3" wide, the rabbet measuring approx. 20" x 33" the frame measuring approx. 25.25" x 38.25" overall. A bit of mild surface wear, otherwise fine, attractive, untouched original condition. Please note that because of the large size, it was difficult to photograph the frame head-on and with no distortion. Rest assured, however, that the rails are perfectly straight, the corners are perfectly square, and there is no warping or distortion of any kind in the actual item. The carved out areas of the frame are framed themselves by solid boarders which gives this frame a rich aesthetic feel. The very inner portion of the frame has what I think is a thin gesso area which nicely compliments the larger areas of ornate carvings. The approximate outside dimensions are: 29 3/4" x 25 1/2" The approximate picture viewing area dimensions are: 19 1/2" x 15 1/2" The frame does have a few minor dings and a crack(upper right corner) Considering its age. Opening for picture is 4 3/4 by 7 3/4" Overall measurement is 8 X 11" and width of frame is about 2" on the front and 1 1/2" on the back. Good condition, no chips or cracks, finish is original. Probably had black paper covering the entire back at one time, now worn and missing in some places. Original hooks, eyes, wire and glass.
