This is an almost exact pair of antique mid-19th century silver gilded lemon gold frames. They were both covered in paint and were professionally stripped to bring out the original silver gilding. As a result of the stripping. Some of the silver gilding came off, mostly on the raised edges of the frame molding. Also, some of the paint couldn't be removed, but it tends to blend in with the frames. Overall. One measures 14 3/4 inches x 19 1/4 inches(37.47 cm x 48.9 cm) It fits a picture measuring 10 5/8 inches x 15 1/8 inches(27 cm x 38.42 cm) It's molding width measures 2 1/2 inches(6.35 cm) The other is similar in size. The frame measures 6 3/4 inches by 10 9/16 inches(17.2 cm x 26.8 cm) The back opening size is 4 7/8 inches by 8 3/4 inches(12.4 cm x 22.2 cm) The molding width measures 1 5/8 inches(4.3 cm) The frame itself is very thick at 1 3/8 inches(3.5 cm) The issues: there is a slight separation at each of the corners where the wood meets. It has a tiny dent in the top left-hand corner of the frame. It has numerous light scratches on it. But the veneer is fairly thick so they still look dark. There is an approximately 1/4 inch by 1/8 ... moreinch chip in one corner of the frame. Next to it are some dents and small scratches(please see photos) The liner is worn at places and the gray is showing through. It has half of the original hanging piece on the back. But is missing the ring part. You can see the sheets of gilding on the liner. The liner has a tiny chip in one corner and two in another corner(please see photos) I believe there was glass at the front. Then something sitting in it, and then a back to keep it in place, forming a shadowbox(please see photo) The back itself is made deep by an additional layer of wood attached to it. I've secured the liner in place with frame staples. It has its original wavy and bubbled glass. But it has some scratches and scuff marks to it. It would be great for an old oil painting. Antique Walnut Deep Well 8.75"x10.75" Picture Frame Lemon Gold Liner
Up for auction is an antique deep well walnut Victorian picture frame recently found at auction in the Lancaster County. PA area. It is found in good used condition and features a lemon gold colored inner liner. The liner does have some minor discoloration on the surface. There is a small crack in the frame which can be repaired. This is best seen in photo#4. There are some surface scratches as well, shown in photo#3. This is a very good-looking antique mid-19th century lemon gold gilt portrait frame. I would date it 1850s to 1860s. As this look in frames was popular during that period. Overall. It measures 21 3/4 inches x 27 3/4 inches(55.25 cm x 70.5 cm) The back opening size is 18 inches x 24 inches(45.72 cm x 60.96 cm) The molding measures 2 3/8 inches wide(6.03 cm) The frame is in very good condition except for a few small issues. Each corner has a tiny nick in it. One a little larger than the others at about 1/4 inch by 1/2 inch(64 cm x 1.27 cm) There are also a few areas where some light touch ups were done many years ago. For the most part, they blend in with the frame. But they are there. There are also a few tiny nicks going around the outside edge. There are also some light scratches and scuff marks on the frame. This is a beautiful antique late 19th century lemon gold gilt. Red velvet and oak frame. It was created around the turn-of-the-century with three separate frame types. The oak dates circa 1900. The velvet circa 1880s and the lemon gold gilt liner approximately 1850s. Together they make a beautiful frame. Overall it measures 12 inches x 14 1/4 inches(30.48 cm x 36.2 cm) The back opening size is 8 5/8 inches x 10 7/8 inches(21.91 cm x 27.62cm) The molding is 2 inches wide(5.08 cm) It has some age-related nicks and flaws. Antique Biedermeier Black & Brown Lemon Gold Gilt Liner Wood Frame
This is a very handsome antique Biedermeier black and brown wood frame with a lemon gold gilt liner. I'm going to date it 1920s. But it may be just before or just after. Overall. It measures 8 9/16 inches x 11 3/16 inches(21.75 cm x 28.42 cm) I can't measure the back opening size due to the wooden backing. So I'm going to give you the site edge on front of the frame instead. It measures 6 3/8 inches x 8 7/8 inches(16.19 cm x 22.54 cm) The molding is 1 1/8 inches wide(2.86 cm) The grain on this frame is just beautiful. It looks like mahogany veneer with black ebonized corners. It has great looking. Well made lap joints at the corners. It has its original easel back. But it's badly attached(please see photo) However, it stands up fine. It has some slight damage to it. There's a tiny chip on the lemon gold gilt liner along ... morethe bottom. The ebonized black square in the top left-hand corner has a crack going through it along with some very tiny cracks. There's a small chip on the top. A little to the right of the middle. There's also a small chip on the bottom right-hand corner(please see photo) It has a number of tiny dings/nicks on it, but they seem to just blend in with the frame. However, the ones along the bottom of the frame do stand out a bit. The frame also has light scratches on it. The colors and patina are really beautiful. It has its original wavy glass. Large Antique Birdseye Maple Lemon Gold Gilt Liner Portrait Frame
This is a beautiful large antique Birdseye maple veneer and lemon gold gilt liner portrait frame. It dates sometime from the mid to later 19th century. Overall. It measures 27 7/8 inches x 33 7/8 inches(70.8 cm x 86 cm) The back opening size is 23 7/8 inches x 29 7/8 inches(60.6 cm x 75.9 cm) The site edge is 22 1/8 inches x 28 1/4 inches(56.2 cm x 71.8 cm) The molding measures 2 3/4 inches wide(7 cm) This is a really nice frame! It has a gorgeous rich color and lots of detailed birds eyes. It also has great width. You can actually see the sheets of gold leaf that were originally layed down on the liner. It was made with old square cut nails. There is no glass. The veneer is 95% intact on three sides. But only 65% intact on one of the long sides. The corners are each missing a little veneer. Fortunately, due to the darkness of the underlying ... morewood, it hardly shows. There are some missing pieces of veneer to the front. On the left molding. There's about a 1" chip off the liner in the upper left-hand corner. There's a 3" x 0.25" and another 1" x 0.25" piece of the veneer missing. On the top molding there is a 1.5" x 0.5" deep chip and a 3" x 0.25" piece of missing veneer on the upper right-hand corner. On the bottom molding there is a.75" by.25" chip. I've photographed most of these close-up. These are the major issues. There are a few small nicks. Scratches and missing veneer, but they don't stand out. Over time. Oxidation or perhaps someone's touchups have darkened the spots where the veneer is missing. But it still blends in well with the Birdseye Maple. The frame has developed a really beautiful. This is a great large old hard to find frame in very good condition. It measures 33” by 40” inches on the outside and the site size(inside measurements) are 26 ½” by 33 ½” and it is 3” wide. Just like my other two frames it’s got great deep gold color and a nice shine and it’s in fantastic condition waiting for that special item or a mirror to be framed. It’s in great condition! There is normal aging and very little chipping. You will be very pleased with this frame as its not painted gold like many of the others you will find on Ebay! Pair Antique Mid 19th Century Lemon Gold Gilt Frames 10 X 13 Opening
This is a classy looking pair of antique mid 19th century lemon gold gilt frames. They date circa 1840s to 1860s. Overall. They measure 17 inches x 14 inches(43.2 cm x 35.6 cm) Their back opening size is 13 inches x 10 inches(33 cm x 25.4 cm) Their molding width measures 2 3/8 inches(6 cm) The frames are fairly thick at 1 1/2 inches(3.8 cm) These frames aren't like most lemon gold frames in that they have a very cool dimensional aspect to them. They are covered in those wonderful lines and dots that make lemon gold gilt frames so beautiful. The sides are one half gilding and one half yellow paint. A classic sign of an earlier frame. There's a tiny chip on the center right edge of the short side of molding on one approximately 1/2 inch x 1/8 inch(1.3 cm x.3 cm) Each corner has a tiny chip. But one has a chip measuring approximately ... more1/2 inch x 1/4 inch(1.3 cm x.6 cm) There are a few places where the gold has worn off. But this just seems to blend in with the rest of the frame. The patina on the these frames just can't be beat. It's really exceptional. They each come with their original old wavy glass. They would be great for an old oil painting. Antique 19th C Eastlake Lemon Gold Gilt Frame Original Photo 11 X 14 Opening
This is an antique late 19th century Eastlake and lemon gold gilt frame with its original photo. It dates circa 1870s to 1880s. Overall. It measures 17" x 20" 43.2cm x 50.8 cm) The back opening size is 11" x 14" 28cm x 35.6 cm) The molding is 3 1/4" wide(8.3 cm) There is incising on the outer section of the frame. The incising on the lemon gold section of the frame is done exceptionally well. There are scratches on various parts of the outer front black ebonized section of the frame. There are also some small chips along the edges. Each corner has a tiny chip. The two lemon gold sections and the grayish area are in very good condition. With only minor wear. It has its original photo of a woman. It looks like someone touched up her right eyebrow though. The matt has some light staining or foxing to it. Oddly enough. ... moreThere appear to be snowflake-like things under parts of the glass. I don't know what these are. The outer black ebonized section of the frame is a little loose. But overall it's still very sturdy. It has its original wood back and wavy and bubbled glass. I don't believe it's ever been opened. It would be great for an old oil painting. Drawing, folk art work, sampler, fraktur, silhouette, etc. It weighs 5 lbs. 2 oz. 233 g) It has what I always look for in frames. That wonderful old world look!

Two Antique Victorian Eastlake picture frames in very good used condition with normal age chips and paint touchups. Early spoon carved frames with lemon gold on one and hand painted faux tortoiseshell sponge on the other. American 1860'S. Frames are triple handmade. Auction is for both frames. Antique Late 19th Century Eastlake Lemon Gold Gilt Frame 8 X 10 Opening
This is a lovely antique late 19th century Eastlake and lemon gold gilt frame. It dates circa 1870s or 1880s. Overall. It measures 14" x 16" 35.6 cm x 40.6 cm) The back opening size is 8.125" x 10.125" 20.6 cm x 25.7 cm) The molding is 3 inches wide(7.6 cm) The entire frame measures 2 1/2 inches deep(6.4 centimeters) It has those wonderful old square cut nails. It comes with glass. But it's definitely not the original old piece. It does however have its original backboard. The Eastlake carving on it is very well done. The inner section is a lemon gold gilt liner. It has a number of small chips and dings on it. There is a chip in each corner. There's also a noticeable chip on one of the short sides right on the outer edge measuring approximately 3/4" by 1/8" 1.9 cm x.3 cm) There are about five small chips ... moreto the lemon gold liner. There is a tiny chip on one of the long sections in the black area. Other than these. There are light dings and scratches on various parts of the frame. This is fairly common for these old Eastlake frames. Overall though. It's a beautiful looking frame. It would be great for an old oil painting. Small Antique Early 20th Century Lemon Gold Gilt Frame 8 X 10 Opening
This is a small antique early 20th-century lemon gold gilded frame with a decorative interior edge. It dates circa 1900 to 1920. Overall it measures 9 1/4" x 11 1/4" 23.5 cm x 28.6 cm) The back opening size is 8" x 10" 20.3 cm x 25.4 cm) The molding measures 13/16" wide(2.1 cm) This isn't one of the mid-19th-century lemon gold frames. But a later version. So it doesn't have square cut nails. However, it does have an early piece of wavy and bubbled glass. It has those great old dots and lines you find on lemon gold gilt frames. It also has gilding on the sides. There is some light wear to the gilding at the angled and outer edges. But it seems to just blend in with the frame. It's developed a great old patina. Large Antique Mid 19th C Silver Lemon Gold Gilt Portrait Frame 20 X 26 Opening
This is a large antique mid 19th century silver lemon gold gilt portrait frame. It dates circa 1850s to 1860s. Overall. It measures 24 1/8 inches x 30 1/8 inches(61.3 cm x 76.5 cm) The back opening size is 20 1/8 inches by 26 1/8 inches(51.1 cm x 66.4 cm) The molding width measures 2 1/2 inches(6.4 cm) This was a lemon gold gilt frame that had been painted over and was professionally stripped. It has a lot of loss to the old silver finish. The bottom piece of molding is missing much of its silver along the site edge. Which measures 15 1/2 inches x 3/4 inches(39.4 cm x 1.9 cm) please see photos) There are some dark stain-like marks along the lower part of the right side piece of long molding and other dark spots along the bottom short piece of molding. There are other light chips around the edges. But this is very common with these frames ... moreand it's difficult to point out each one. Overall. The marks tend to just blend in with the frame, as they are expected to show a lot of age. However, this frame has more marks than most. The frame has those wonderful old lines and dots found in these old gilded frames. You can even see some of the lines of gilding that were laid on the wood. It has its original old wavy and bubbled glass. And those great old square cut nails. It weighs 7 lbs. 3.17 kg) It would be great for an old oil painting. 1840's Lemon Gold PIcture Frame Liner NR
Early lemon gold picture frame. Likely a liner for a larger walnut. Circa 1840's frame. In good condition, some surface history, as you might expect(see images) This frame has been resized and constructed with square cut nails. Measures overall 18.5" x 17.5" Picture size 17.5" x 16" molding width 1" Corners are tight and it hangs flat to the wall. Nice example. Picked fresh from a Cushing, Maine estate, first time offered.
