Mid Century Small Glass Frame "REMEMBER ME" Backed with Pocket Mirror NICE NR!!
I am not certain of the age of this small frame/pocket mirror. But I am guessing it is from the 1940's or 50's! It is in VERY GOOD+ plus condition with a small blemish is the wording where the two halves were separated, BUT all the lettering is still intact when placed together properly, with a little loss of the red below the letters! Otherwise, I would this item as EXCELLENT with minor edge wear to the mirror side! We are pleased to offer this BEAUTIFUL Mid Century frame! The frame is wood with an extraordinary carved appearance. The pattern is lotus or acanthus leaf design. In deep dimensions. This gorgeous frame has a partial sticker on the back and is marked"Made in Japan" which would date it to the 1960s. Possibly early 1970s. It is wood, not composite, with a gesso type finish on the face. It is gold, faux gilt" with a black over glaze for depth of color. It does give the frame an"aged" appearance. This is a large antique mid-19th century lemon gold gilded stenciled portrait frame. This particular frame wasn't originally used for a portrait. Though this type of frame is frequently used for that purpose. Vintage celluloid or Bakelite mid-century picture frame & photo of older couple
Up for sale is a vintage celluloid or Bakelite picture frame. It is clear. But somewhat yellowed, which is apparently typical of the material. It has nice detail and holds an 8 x 10 picture. The bottom corner pieces on the back are removable to allow the backing to be removed. These pieces had a partial patent number. So I was able to find that this frame was patented in 1950. I will enclose the printout that I got from the US Patent Office. The frame was in an old trunk so it is a bit dirty. But I did not want to try to clean it…I will leave that to the buyer. I am also leaving the photo inside. Unless the buyer includes a note with their purchase in shipping instructions that they do not want the photo. Most of my items are pre-owned. I try to describe them accurately and show flaws in the pictures. But. Due to camera limitations, I may ... moremiss some minor flaws. Rare Antique Mid 19th Century Oval Brass Shell On Wood Frame (#2)
Please note that I will be listing two of these frames separately tonight. One a little larger than the other. This one is the larger one. This is a rare antique mid-19th-century oval brass shell on wood frame. It dates from the 1840s. It measures 14 7/8" x 13 1/4" 37.8 cm x 33.7 cm) It fits a picture size 12 1/4" x 10 1/2" 31 cm x 26.7 cm) The molding is 1 5/8" wide(4.1 cm) This is an American frame made of a brass shell molding. Which is crimped over the sides of the wood molding. As you can see in the photos. The wood has shrunk a bit leaving two thin openings. But these do not affect the sturdiness of the frame at all. The photos of the various sections of the frame aren't in any particular order. As I was getting confused! There are two small dents on it. There are also four small reverse dents. On about ... morehalf of the outer rim there is a light reddish color that has developed. I believe it's from age(please see photo) I don't feel these take away from the old world feel of the frame. Small Antique Mid 19th Century Mahogany Veneer Frame Lemon Gold Gilt Liner
This is a small antique mid-19th century period mahogany or possibly rosewood veneer frame with a lemon gold gilt liner. It dates from around the 1840s to 1850s. And possibly earlier. It has a lovely old finish. But given its age. It has a number of small imperfections. But the overall look is quite beautiful. Overall. The frame measures 6 3/4 inches by 10 9/16 inches(17.2 cm x 26.8 cm) The back opening size is 4 7/8 inches by 8 3/4 inches(12.4 cm x 22.2 cm) The molding width measures 1 5/8 inches(4.3 cm) The frame itself is very thick at 1 3/8 inches(3.5 cm) The issues: there is a slight separation at each of the corners where the wood meets. It has a tiny dent in the top left-hand corner of the frame. It has numerous light scratches on it. But the veneer is fairly thick so they still look dark. There is an approximately 1/4 inch by 1/8 ... moreinch chip in one corner of the frame. Next to it are some dents and small scratches(please see photos) The liner is worn at places and the gray is showing through. It has half of the original hanging piece on the back. But is missing the ring part. You can see the sheets of gilding on the liner. The liner has a tiny chip in one corner and two in another corner(please see photos) I believe there was glass at the front. Then something sitting in it, and then a back to keep it in place, forming a shadowbox(please see photo) The back itself is made deep by an additional layer of wood attached to it. Vintage Whitewashed Wormy Chestnut Picture Frame, Mid Century, 60's Era, Pickled
Very stylish 60's era vintage white-washed wormy chestnut picture frame. This frame has a painted lip that angles towards the rabbet from a high point. And sweeps back towards the outside with a gentle curve. The rabbet size is 14 1/ 8" X 20 1/8" With an outside dimension of 16 1/2" X 22 1/2" The moulding is 1 1/2" wide. The rabbet depth is 7/16" The sight size is about 13 1/2" X 19 1/2" Frame has a nice. Even wash. O n the bottom rail. The white has worn off just a bit. The frame is in good condition overall. There are a few small chips on the bottom two corners. Don't have close-ups of those, but I think you can see what I mean in the first photo. Two of the corners on the right side are a bit open, but the frame is still solid. It sits flat, it's not warped. This is a very good-looking antique mid-19th century lemon gold gilt portrait frame. I would date it 1850s to 1860s. As this look in frames was popular during that period. Overall. It measures 21 3/4 inches x 27 3/4 inches(55.25 cm x 70.5 cm) The back opening size is 18 inches x 24 inches(45.72 cm x 60.96 cm) The molding measures 2 3/8 inches wide(6.03 cm) The frame is in very good condition except for a few small issues. Each corner has a tiny nick in it. One a little larger than the others at about 1/4 inch by 1/2 inch(64 cm x 1.27 cm) There are also a few areas where some light touch ups were done many years ago. For the most part, they blend in with the frame. But they are there. There are also a few tiny nicks going around the outside edge. There are also some light scratches and scuff marks on the frame. The outer edge is gold, but the main section and most inner section have a slight yellow tinge to them. I've seen this on many lemon gold gilt frames, so it is definitely all original. It probably dates 1940s or 1950s. Overall. It measures 21 1/2 inches x 25 1/2 inches(54.6 cm x 64.8 cm) It has a back opening size of 16 1/8 inches x 20 1/8 inches(41 cm x 51.1 cm) The molding width measures a touch under 3 inches(7.6 cm) It has a textured. Combed surface. The profile is a great-looking reverse cove. The wood under the linen-covered liner is not wormy chestnut. But a different type of wood. The interior section is painted a reddish/goldish/grayish color. Giving it a wonderful look. The back has writing which says#D3331. I believe this was a model number. Antique Mid 19th Century Lemon Gold Gilded Frame 16 X 20 Opening
This is an antique mid-19th century lemon gold gilt frame. It dates circa 1860s to 1880s. Overall. It measures 18 1/4 inches x 22 1/4 inches(46.4 cm x 56.5 cm) The back opening size is 16 1/8 inches x 20 1/8 inches(41 cm x 51.1 cm) The molding measures 1 1/2 inches wide(3.8 cm) It has all the great dots and lines you find in these old lemon gold gilded frames. It's made with old square cut nails. There is no glass. There is light loss to the outer front of the gilding along two of the pieces of molding. But when you stand a little away from it. It's not noticeable. The finish is all original. With no restorations. It's developed a beautiful old patina. It would be great for an old oil painting. 20th C Vintage Mid-Century 6.5 x 9 wood beaded wood frame
Up for auction is a vintage ca 1940's 1950's 6.5 x 9" wood frame with glass and vertical hanger recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia PA area. There are small losses to the beading and edges. The vertical hanger on top is still very good condition. The glass is not bubble glass so we put this in the 40's or 50's. This is a great-looking vintage mid century modern House of Heydenryk wormy Chestnut frame with an oil painting on rice paper. The main photo looks darker than the actual piece because I tried to avoid the glare. But the other photo colors are accurate. It dates circa 1950s or 1960s. Overall. The frame measures 19 3/4 inches x 30 5/8 inches(50.2 cm x 77.8 cm) The back opening measures 12 3/8 inches by 23 1/4 inches(31.4 cm x 59.1 cm) The frame molding is 4 inches wide(10.2 cm) The entire piece is original and hasn't been touched at all.
