I'll admit. I don't know as much about antique picture frames as some other antiques I watch. However, a friend of mine asked me to look at it and put it on ebay. From what I have seen, this appears to be a one-of-a-kind hand carved frame. Likely mid 1800's. Wish I had the picture that was in it. The frame measures 15.5" x 19 3/4" inches overall. The interior oval measurements are 9.5" x 13.5" inches. Also. I did wipe it off with warm water and dirt did come off, but particularly in the upper right hand corner, there are some stains that I don't think will come off, but I think it still looks great. Antique Walnut or Cherry Picture Frame with Floral Needlepoint 1800's
Here is a Antique picture frame with very old needlepoint of Calia Lillies. I believe the frames date back to the 1800's. I'm not sure but I think the wood is either Walnut or Cherry. The frame measures 15 1/4" by 13 1/4" 2" deep, inside picture measures 9 1/2" by 7 1/2" The Lilly's are White with pink center with green leaves. Black background. The frame has different levels of wood with gold. Black trim and very deep shadow box construction.There are slight gaps in the mitered corner due to age shrinkage but very minor. The frames were made by the Wright Brown& Co. Troy. NH. No. 10. Condition is excellent! The frames were from an estate in New England. Postage parcel post. Feel free to ask questions. ANTIQUE Victorian Aesthetic CARVED Black Lacquer Ebony Picture Frame 1800's WOW
This is an Antique Picture Frame. It dates from the mid 1800's and measures 12 3/16ths by 14 3/16ths inches. It is black lacquer over wood with gold gilt. This is frame in frame construction. One wood frame inside another. The outer frames black lacquer is cut or carved to reveal the chalk or plaster underneath that is over the wood. Shown in my photos is a corner view of the construction and a view of each corners hand cut decoration. It has a cheezy 1960's Robert Wood copy print in it, I'm sure you can do better than that! Good condition for its years, but not without minor flaws.

This Victorian GILT triple frame for pictures or mirrors dates from the mid to late 1800's. It is in great condition considering it's age with a small area of"old damage" as seen on the corners in the pictures and a tiny spot on the edge. The damage is hardly noticeable but I always state everything. It measures 27" by 22 1/2" outside and the inside opening is 19 1/2" X 15 1/2" It would hold a 16" X 20" painting. The frame is what they call Tramp Art. Over a 100 years old, hand made folk art. It's a really neat frame and definitely is old. All wood with inner Gold trim. It's in really good shape. The front has very little wear/tear, it looks like there was an additional leaf on the other top left corner, but not positive, It's solid and complete. The inside trim is gold and shows some wear. The back has no wire, Will need to be replaced. Antique large oval charcoal painting and bubble convex glass with gesso wood frame. This is a beautiful victorian 1800's charcoal painting of young. Lady. The face is made of very tiny dots. The talented paintist. Shows facial expression. On the left side of the painting very smal piece, 1/2cm has a fold line, very close to the frame and it is hard too see. This antique oval and large frame has gesso work of beautiful roses and bowes. The frame is rimmed in black and also has a black rimm around the area immediately around the glass and in between is the gesso work on the wood. The large convex bubble glass is intact. This is a beautiful antique late 1800's picture frame and print all is original. Is in very good condition for being well over 100 years old. It is made of metal I believe it to be brass and is painted with a gilded gold color. It is all hand crafted and has beautiful ornate design patterns on both bottom and top of the frame as well as beautiful scrolled floral designs on the side. You will not see another one like this on e-bay. It is very unique and rare. It is a larger frame approx. 26 inches high by 20 1/2" wide. The print is of a lovely young girl in her long dress holding her Bonnet and kitten in her arms. has beautiful colors and has been kept out of direct sun light to keep colors nice. This is a lovely. Antique Eastlake frame dating from 1860- 1890 and it is in very good condition. Even the glass appears to be authentic with slight waves& a few tiny bubbles. The overall measurements are 14" wide and 16" tall and 3.25" deep. The interior print/ photo window is 8" by 10" Construction on this lovely 3-tier frame: ~ Outer- Solid Walnut with a thin gilt groove along entire front top surface. The walnut is beveled and 2" deep. ~ Middle- Multi- beveled; gilted level and a black/ gilt cross hatch design level. Total 1" depth. ~ Inner- 1/2" of beveled. Black wood, 1" of faux marble(deep green) etched on each corner with stem of flowers. Then the inner most liner is gentle bevel of gilt/ gold. There is overall patina. Commensurate with age, which adds to the antique value. There is ... morealso one, approximately 1" surface scrape along the left top back edge- barely noticeable and hidden behind a rolled walnut bevel. As for the print and backing- A lovely lady portrait in Victorian finery. The back(wall side) is covered in soft green felt. 10.5" by 12.75" which appears newer and professionally added at a later date. Along with a sawtooth hanger. 1800-1899 is the estimated date of these charcoal pictures with Antique Gesso& Wood Oval Picture Frames. One has a wonderful raised design on all four sides of the frame. It has a beautiful brushed grain look. The bowed. Convex, or bubbled glass is original to the frames. The other is of the more common type. I acquired these from the wall of the Naomi Hotel in Birdsboro Pa. which was built in the year 1800. Judging by the other artifacts I saw there, these were hung here a long time. The woman's bouquet looks to have been water colored making it very unique. The outside dimensions of the frame of the man are approx 25"H x 19"W making it larger than most. The bottom of the frame has a gold panel with raised circle pattern. The inside gray mat is hand painted with beautiful white flowers and leaves and then the center of the mat has a gold metal arch for the photo, that is surrounded with velvet in a burgundy color. The frame is in pretty good condition for its age. There is on corner on the top right side that seems to be repaired hard to notice. The frame measures 18" x 11" wide. Vintage French style Louis XVI old Gilt ornate picture frame Antique 1800's
This is an old antique frame from a Maine estate. Frame measures outside 18" X 22" Picture space 12 1/4" X 16 1/4" Lips are 5/16" I believe this frame is all wood because there is not any flaws or cracked gesso. If it is gesso moldings they are in excellent condition. There are a few drips of what seems to be white paint probably picked up from wall painting where it was hanging. Can see an old auction lot number on corner back. Old style I'm guessing at least 19th century maybe older. Old gilt has a brownish fade. Two of the corners have a visable nail hole. Antique Picture Frame- Shadow Box Style. Marbleized Plaster On Wood. This is a very lovely wood frame that features plaster painted to look like a marbleized effect. The most inner portion of the frame features a gold painted design. Which further accentuates the frame as"it" will any picture displayed in it! Overall. The frame is in very good condition with exception to 2 tiny areas. In the one corner a piece of the marbleized plaster is missing. Truly its very tiny area, that measures approx. a 1/4 inch long, its not very noticeable. The other corner directly across from it has the same issue with a very tiny missing piece of plaster( see photos- I highlighted the areas of the corners in the photos, with a green rectangle) The other 2 corners are good without any noticeable issues. Gorgeous Antique 1800's Gold Guilt Gesso wood picture frame Shabby Patina
This Gorgeous Antique frame is the cream of my collection. With methods of construction. Id date this frame from 1860-1880. This frame is not a Gesso pattern laid over a wood frame. It is carved wood with a very light coat of Gesso used to accomplish a smooth pattern. It is a three piece design, the outside, border is one piece, the thick prominent center carved piece and the decorative inside, which is what you mount the picture in. All pieces were assembled using old steel nails. Like all quality frames this one is quite heavy. Mounting measurement is 20"x16" with a 5/8 ledge. At over a hundred years old there is plenty of genuine wear and character. But only lost gesso on one corner and an outer edge. No glass. All Vintage or Antique items are represented"as is" Through age and use, pieces may have acquired nicks, scratches, ... morechips and cracks, which help to develop a preferred patina. But be aware that items are represented exactly, so make sure to carefully view the High def. images and ask any questions you may have. There will never be any damage that hinders useability. I respect what an object has become and appreciate the rustic, true beauty which speaks for itself. I never attempt to ruin the patina with amateur restoration. I only brush out surface dust and dirt. Thanks for looking and helping to preserve History.

sterling Silver picture frame Reed& Barton 1800's. Very good condition and sold As- Is. Measures 8" x 5 3/4" I did not clean silver; just as found. Nice victorian filigree. Has early Reed mark( bird. R, Lion) sterling. Velvet wear on the body. Nice antique.

Antique Gutta Percha Frame Thistles and Wood 1800's Navy Commander
Up for your consideration is this vintage gutta percha frame. This frame is a beautiful example of an early type of gutta percha. What's unusual is the color. It could best be described as in between a terra cotta and milk chocolate color. It has an early patent date stamped on the backside of"PATENTED AUG.7. 1855" The frame itself has a whimsical look about it. Complete with thisle flowers and cut wood branches. The picture appears to be a early portrait of a Navel Commander. It is a steel engraving. Not sure who it is. The top of the frame has the original brass ring mounting with a blue silk ribbon attached. Could have color significance related to the Naval Commander. There is some slight damage to the backside of the frame as seen in the pictures. The measurements of the frame are 5&1/2" tall x 4" wide.
