The carvings and details on this piece are absolutely fabulous! We can confidently attribute this outstanding Etagere to George W. Ware and Company. Boston, Massachusettes. The top of this wonderful Etagere is graced with a magnificent pierced carved crown adorned with massive fruits and nuts. Carved scrolls, a grape cluster, along with leaf and foliate carvings and pierced scrolled work. This glorious crown sits upon the substantial arc-shaped bonnet top which provides the perfect introduction to the large oval mirror. This large oval mirror is encased in beautiful picture-frame moulding and appears to be original. Plenty of display opportunity is found on the eight graduated scalloped display surfaces as well as on the larger center white marble top display area above the serpentine bottom drawer. The white marble top has beveled. Scalloped edging and is in excellent condition for its age. First of all they are 17 ¾ inches by 15 ¾ inches(outside) 9 ¾ inches by 7 ¾ inches(image area) They are in very nice condition, but not perfect. They do have some rubs, minor nicks, and some discoloration in the gold areas. These were purchased at an estate sale. They do each have glass in them, with a wood backing, ready for you to add your favorite photo or painting. The outside frame itself is 4 inches in width and 3 ¾ inches thick. It is actually 3 frames together, the inner frame being the gold gilt. You have a nice 1 ½ inch black carved portion, setting off the two gold frames. This listing is for your choice of one fine 19th century deep walnut picture frame- both of which hold vintage needlepoint(one petit point) And both of which are outstanding! As you'll see in the photos. They are similar in design and surprisingly similar in size. The walnut and Eastlake ebonized pattern of each frame remains in excellent original condition with just a couple spots of wear. I won't bore you by describing the detail that you can quickly see in the photo. But to make your choice easier, I'll deal with their specifics individually. 1) Smaller" frame with burgundy floral needlepoint. Measures just about 13 1/2 by 11 1/2 inches(widest outside measurement) and the oval opening is 9 x 7 inches. Although this frame appears significantly smaller in the photos. Near perfect condition with some looseness in the joints that has occurred in its last 10 years hanging on my diningroom wall. Retains original glass& beveled-edge backing board. However, the needlepoint was so pretty that I left it intact so have never removed its backing. 2) Larger" frame with needlepoint bird or distlefink. Totally tight at the joints, but the original gold leaf oval has been gone over at some time- perhaps to brighten it. Deep Walnut Wood Eastlake Victorian Picture Frame with Crewel Embroidery
There is no reserve on this antique Eastlake Victorian deep walnut wood picture frame. It is shadow box style. It measures 13 3/4 x 15 3/4 inches and is 3 inches deep. The opening for a picture is 10 x 12 inches. I think it has a wood backing but the back is covered with the needle work material and I do not want to take it apart. There is a hanger and it has glass over the framed crewel basket of violets. It has a gold colored wood liner outlined with a black wood liner. The frame has minimal age wear but still is in excellent condition for about 100 years of use. Buyer pays $13.00 shipping.

Pair Floral Needlepoints in Antique Deep Walnut Frames
This is a pair of hand-stitched needlepoint floral compositions. Each framed in a matching deep walnut frame. The outer measurements of the frames are 12 inches wide, 14 inches long, and 2 1/2 inches deep. The needlepoints have been stretched over wood and when framed extend the depth by 1/2 inch more. There is glass above the textile, so there is a bit of glare in the photos. The frames have a gilt lining and layers of black painted wood that contrast nicely with the walnut. There is one small fissure in one corner of a frame, shown in the photo. The conition of the frames is very good, with minimal signs of age, and the textiles are in excellent condition. We did not find a signature, but did not remove the needlepoints from the frames. We estimate that the frames date from the mid to late 19th century, and that the needlepoints may be ... moreoriginal to the frames, or may have been added in the early 20th century.

Walnut 3" deep frame measures 12" x 14" and has a 7 1/2" x 9 1/2" frame opening. Large tin type image is mounted under glass and matted with an oval mat that has a 5 3/4" x 7 3/4" opening. OFFERED HERE: The wonderful antique frame and print. Nice glass. Old shingle backing boards, ready to hang. Print is titled"In Disgrace" and shows a young Victorian girl, with her dolly, and the family dog showing concern and sorrow for the young boy apparently being punished for some infraction. The print is dated 1906 and attributed to the Gray Lithographic Co. of New York. The golden frame shown inside the walnut frame is actually an image on the print and not a second frame inside the first, though it is hard to tell except under close examination. I just love these deep antique shadow box frames. I have graduation pictures of all of my children in them- so much nicer than a cheap plastic frame. This walnut shadowbox has the intact gold liner. It is carved on the outer edge making it unique. The wood is in excellent shape but is dusty and needs a good polishing. From my non-smoking home. Beautiful Civil War era or later Deep Walnut Frames with unusual deep. Thick(and unpatterned) gilded liner. Lovely old patina and in solid shape. This walnut frame pair is not your typical deep walnut frame. And instead of straight molding, is more swirl carved and is embellished with tiny carved out flowers. The frame with the rose and pansies has old glass with a few small bubbles. I think the fuchsias and violets has one bubble in the glass. But it is tiny. The wool needlepoint panels are both in good condition with no apparent fading/staining(it's the glare on the glass.it's impossible to photograph without reflections) or moth damage. The inside of the frames(and also the size of the needlepoint) is approximately 7-1/2" x 9-1/2" The frames measure 11-1/2" x 13-1/2. And the frame itself ... moreis about 2-3/8" deep.

Mat and wood backing. I am not sure if the glass is original because I don't see any of the typical imperfections of old glass. The frame is in excellent condition with the exception of an area on the side near the back where the frame was evidently bumped and chipped. The piece is still there, but you can see the edge around it in the next to last picture where it doesn't fit back in perfectly. I honestly didn't notice it until I started inspecting the frame, but there is a tiny chip out of it. Other than that, there are ... morelittle gaps where the pieces of wood in the frame come together, as shown in the pictures. This can be tightened, but many people choose to use the frame in the antique condition with the gaps. The original backboard is in two pieces. It was originally held to the frame with nails along the edge, but most of those nails are gone, so it will need some new ones. I put some tape on the backing to hold it in place for now. Overall the frame is in excellent condition and displays beautifully. The outside dimensions are 11-3/8" wide by 13-1/2" long. Without the mat, the opening is 6-3/4" by 8-3/4" WIth the mat, the opening is perfect for a 5" by 7" picture or print. The company manufactured and distributed White Cloverine brand salve and other products. It operated for ninety years in Tyrone— 1895 to 1985. In a unique marketing feature. With every one-ounce tin of Cloverine salve that was sold, a 9×11-inch(some larger) four-color print was given to the customer— all for twenty-five cents. The Wilson family commissioned artists to produce the paintings(many unsigned) exclusively for the company; the prints could not be purchased elsewhere. HUGE Wood Antique Victorian DEEP Walnut Eastlake Picture Frame 1874 Print
This is a huge antique deep walnut picture frame in the Victorian eastlake style. It dates to the 1800s. I live in a small Maine town and this had been hanging in the old grange all these years. The frame itself measures 30 1/2" tall and 24 1/2" wide. It is 2 1/4" deep. It has the black painted lines around the inside of the frame and a very attractive gold border around the picture area. It is the original old glass. The picture size is 25 1/2" tall by 19 3/4" wide. It has the original Prayer print that was in it which is dated 1874. It says it is a emblematic prayer. It is all in very good condition. If you need a big frame or a large wall hanging this would do nicely.

Up for your consideration is this antique Victorian walnut deep well picture frame with an antique lithograph print of fruit peaches. The frame includes a wonderful aged patina on the walnut. Original lemon gold liner, original, wooden backing, and old wavy glass. It measures 18 by 24 by 3 inches, overall and will accomodate an 14 by 20 inch picture. The print retains its wonderful rich color, but it has a margin chip at the lower left edge. The frame is in good condition with some surface wear on the finish. Overall, it is a nice, old piece.
