Antique Vintage OVAL BRASS METAL Standing Picture FRAME PAT. May 19 1908
This auction is for an antique oval brass picture frame. It is dated Pat. May 19. 1908. The frame is 4" 3 3/8" It has some scuffs as seen in the photo. No glass pane, I do not think it ever had one. Metal back just slides out for placement of picture. Someone had added the velvet piece, could easily be removed. Aesthetic Antique Convex Bubble Glass Ribbon Top Metal Oval Wall Picture Frame
I have up for sale a very nice vintage original Antique circa early 1900s gold or brass toned metal Ribbon Top bubble glass oval picture frame. The frame including the ribbon top measures approx 22" top to bottom. The oval approx 20" top to bottom by 14" wide. The inside measurements for the photo or picture would be approx 19" x 13.5" The frame is made of metal- it magnetizes and has a gold or brass tone plating. The top ribbon section does not magnetize- not sure if it is brass or not. The frame is in Excellent Original Condition and comes with the original rope twist wall hanger accoutrement. Antique Metal Filigree Picture Frame This beautiful frame displays the exquisite filigree workmanship that existed during the early 1900's. There are geometric shapes lining the front of the frame and small flowers along the back of the frame. The edge has yet another pattern. The frame appears to be made of brass. But I'm not certain. The frame measures approximately 10-1/8 inches by 8-1/8 inches. There is an OVAL inset within the 8 X 10 picture frame. Note: The photos distort the oval image and it appear to be round. However. It is a very lovely oval shape. This is in very good condition for its age. The brown velveteen back board shows some minor wear. A pin has been punctured through the back board to help secure the stand but I do not believe it is necessary. Oval metal filigree frames. Shabby chic style. Purchased at western Massachusetts antique fair. These are antiques. In good condition, sold as is. The red velvet backing is an oval of approx. 1/4" lightweight particleboard that has a little wear here and there but still looks nice and lays flush. You use tiny nails in each of four holes around the oval back edge to hold it together. This is not a modern style frame but an antique item. Miniature Brass Picture Frame Antique Vintage Oval Metal Beaded Edge Easel Small
This antique or vintage oval brass picture frame is 2 ¼ inches wide and 3 inches tall. And the viewable area is about 2 ½ inches tall and a little under 2 inches wide. It has a plain design with a beaded edge. And an easel back for standing. The back and glass just push out of the frame for inserting the picture. This is made from brass. Or a metal with a brass finish, I’m not sure which. The glass has quite a few chips around the edge which for the most part are covered by the frame. But there is one at the top that you can see if you are looking for it– see 2 photos with arrows of this one spot. It is more noticeable in the photos than it looks on the actual frame. The metal has a warm aged color that is darkened and somewhat uneven. Overall good vintage condition on this charming little frame. Offered for Auction: Old Baroque Style Gilt Metal Oval Picture Frame with Leaves& Scrolls. The frame has seen better days and most of the gilt finish has worn off and the metal has rust and verdigris. And the back prop stand is broken off, but even with all of its defects it really is a lovely piece and would add a touch of class to anyone's project. The oval frame has wire stays on the reverse which hold the backing in place. The reverse is stamped at the bottom with what appears to be the number 08939. The metal is ferromagnetic and is possibly iron given the weight of the piece. My guess is this is from the late 19th or early 20th C. I do not know where it was manufactured as there is no maker's mark. Condition: Poor to fair given its age. The finish is rough and there is surface rust. Verdigris and pitting. Beautiful pair of matching metal frames with convex"bubble" glass. The glass measures 13.5" X 10.5" The frames can be hung vertically or horizontally. They come with the original tinted wedding photos of an immigrant couple from the turn of the century. On one of the frames there is a back tab broken off but the tab is there. These were hard to photo because of the glare on the glass but the glass is actually very clean and in excellent condition. As are the metal frames. Winner pays shipping which includes insurance.

Rare 1910 Kansas City. Missouri Priests of Pallas Souvenir Pressed Tin Picture Frame/ Vanity Mirror. The Priests of Pallas was a week-long festival held annually in Kansas City from 1887 until 1912. And revived briefly from 1922 to 1924. Festival supporters set out to promote Kansas City’s image as the“Athens of the West” and to parallel other celebrations such as New Orleans's Mardi Gras and St. Louis’s Veiled Prophet. Pallas Athene was the patroness of the festival and motifs were based loosely on figures from Greek mythology. Festivities included parades with ornate floats and numerous concerts and other performances. These festivities culminated with an elegant invitation only masked ball where guests received an official annual souvenir. Only 1.000 souvenirs were made for each year and afterwards the molds were destroyed. You are bidding on a very old picture frame that was purchased at an estate sale. The lady who owned it had passed-away at almost 100. And there was a picture in it of an elderly gentleman in very dated clothing. I know very little about it except that it is made of a gold colored lightweight metal(maybe tin? The frame itself is in good condition, being only mildly discolored in a few places on the outside edge. The oval mat inside is in almost mint condition and looks like it is tin as well, but it is made of heavy paper with a foil film on the top of it. No glass. The smaller black frame has no glass and measures 8 1/2 x 6 3/4" Nice condition. The small gold frame is 5 1/2 x 7 1/2" and has a"Mother" saying inside. Under glass.
