Goldsmith in Newark, New Jersey. Pencil dated inside either 12-18-25 or 12-25-18. True to its word. 90 or 100 years later and its in remarkable condition! Certainly one of the best landscape paintings we have ever offered. 1870 era class New England landscape painting recently found at a magnificent local estate filled with only the best antiques and fine art; in the same family for many generations. All original. Never restored, exceptional very fine clean solid condition with no damage- the wonderful ornate Victorian era gilt gesso material on wood frame is in amazing complete condition with no problems- check my photos. Measures framed 21" x 27" the art is 14" x 20" We could not find a signature but certainly"listed artist museum quality. White Mountain School Early History It was early in the nineteenth century that artists first began to travel to the White Mountains of New Hampshire to paint and sketch. These early paintings portrayed a dramatic landscape with an emphasis on nature and man's insignificance. One of these early artists. And the founder of the style of painting that would later be called the"Hudson River School, was(1801-1848) His painting. Is perhaps the finest example of these early paintings, if not the finest White Mountain painting ever painted. Upon his early death in 1848. Cole was at the National Academy of Design by his friend. William Cullen Bryant. Two other early White Mountain painters were(1792-1863) Of Dedham Massachusetts, and(1793-1856) Who lived in Boston from 1828 until 1938 and spent his summers in the White Mountains. Antique 1878 Cast Iron Ship With Angel Picture Frame & Oil painting Of Baby
This is marked on the part that goes on the back of the beveled edge glass Pat April23 1878. The frame does have a repair that may have occurred at the factory? The chair that the angel was sitting in was broken off and soldiered back on. You cant hardly tell it from the front. The oil painting of the baby is not signed and was done on canvass. It looks to be from the 1870's or 1880's. It is 2 inches across. The frame is made of cast iron and is 9 inches tall and 7 inches wide. I currently have over 100 items listed on ebay so check out my other auctions for more interesting items. Wonderful Antique Oil on Board in Ornate Gesso Frame. Juglar
Excellent Antique Oil on Board. Set behind glass in a very ornate Gesso frame. I have seen a lot of miniature/small oils but not as fine, colours are vibrant and the painting is exceptionally well done. Bottom left corner is signed Joanne, underlined, then D. Juglar, and the back of the board is titled(very unclear, but I think french) The Smoker.Un Fumiere? then below, Juglar. I don't know what this all means, but it is a lovely item from an excellent Estate in Hilton Head. The Gesso Frame appears to be original to the Board, and is in very good condition but for some missing Gold detail in the upper right corner, and both bottom corners. A little real Gold Leaf could be applied to make the absence less visible to the eye, but these are minor and it is all a very rich tableau to hang on the wall, or prop on a table easel. This is a awesome circa 1900- 1920 arts& crafts era very wide gilt and carved frame for a oil painting. This frame is 19" x 22" on the exterior and 8 15/16" x 12" or 9 x 12. Description At auction is a Victorian criss-cross frame which measures 14 1/2" long. 12 1/2" wide, in total and holds a 8" long, 6" wide picture. It is made from walnut wood and has pressed wooden leaves at the corner crosses. It also has an inside liner of gilt gesso around the picture. The frame dates to the 1880's-90's but it is holding an oil on board hand painted picture of flowers, possibly zinnias, in a bowl. It is colorful and nicely done and it is signed with artist, Bessie Hanson, and dated 1964. This is a beautiful old frame. It measure 16" X 14" to the outside edge; the opening is 9 1/2" X 11 1/2" from the back side. The frame from the wall is 2 1/4" deep, with the picture insert it is 3" deep. There is an inside frame that is covered in linen I believe. The frame is hand carved; check the pictures closely. There is a makers mark on the backside of the frame in red; see picture 6. The oil painting in the frame is signed but you cannot see the entire signature.I did not remove it from the frame as I did not want to damage anything. This and some other I will be listing are part of my mother's estate who had a huge house and used to have art work all over the place. A beautiful antique wood frame with gesso and bronzed gold paint. Measures a hair over 25" by just over 29.5" with painting opening measuring for a 20x24" canvas. Single frame that is 3" wide and about 1.25" deep at thickest point on corner. Has an oil on canvas portrait with no signature found. Overall this piece is in very good condition. I inspect closely and found the following; a chip out of upper right corner and lower right corner that are both in same place and same size(3/8x1/2" and easy to fill in if desired but really are not noticeable having been colored in at some point. A few other places that look touched up but very minor and all mentioned are shown in close up photos. Generally an edge or tiny flake. The frame has a nice design and would make a great frame for an antique oil painting(see photos) The item is in good condition with some cracking to the applied decorations. Wear from age and use and some minor losses(see photos) The frame measures: Outer edges it measures about 27 inches by 31 inches. Up for offering is an antique 8" x 10" Adirondack wood branch picture frame with a winter scene oil painting on artist board signed R K Hart. Has the original wavy glass and the original rough sawn wood picture backing while antique square nails hold the original inner and outer frames together. The frame looks to be hand carved. Has some chips and paint loss on the inner gold frame borders. There is also a split in the inner frame border on the back side where the original square nail ties to the outer frame. The frame looks to be in excellent condition with great patina. Has some layered dust in the frame groves which shows it's age.

9 photos uploaded hoping they will speak for themselves. This oil on board painting is framed in an old wood. Gold gilt? I think it is referred to as a gold gilt frame) frame. I purchased it at an estate. It actually has printed on my invoice'Antique Oil on Canvas Signed Henry Walker 1897' It is NOT oil on canvas though, it is oil on board. The board on the back has writing in what looks to be pencil and pencil markings. Where'Henry Walker 1897' is signed on the back, it might be another type of writing instrument because it is thicker and darker. Printed on the back of the board"GEORGE ROWNEY& CO. BIRCHMORE BOARD. LONDON, ENGLAND. There's some type of surface material that has worn on the wood frame on the back. Maybe where the backing was at one time.
