The condition is very good and sturdy, however it's missing it's glass and backing. This sale is for the frame only. On the top of the back, there is some surface rust. On the top of the front, there is what might be the beginning of it(oxidation darkening) but this really doesn't detract from the overall great looks of this piece because it coordinates with the natural color of the frame anyway. It references and depicts Shakespeare's Birthplace, a 16th-century half-timbered house situated on Henley Street, in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, England, where it is believed that William Shakespeare was born in 1564 and spent his childhood years. They each measure approx. 6" x 5" and weigh a whopping 2 1/2 lbs. EACH! There is some white paint smudges on the side of one, but still a stunning pair of bookends. It is now a small museum open to the public and a popular visitor attraction. Owned and managed by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust. It has been referred to as"a Mecca for all lovers of literature" There are differing views concerning the origin of the building. Antique 1878 Cast Iron Ship With Angel Picture Frame & Oil painting Of Baby
This is marked on the part that goes on the back of the beveled edge glass Pat April23 1878. The frame does have a repair that may have occurred at the factory? The chair that the angel was sitting in was broken off and soldiered back on. You cant hardly tell it from the front. The oil painting of the baby is not signed and was done on canvass. It looks to be from the 1870's or 1880's. It is 2 inches across. The frame is made of cast iron and is 9 inches tall and 7 inches wide. I have used this frame in my home to display two Santa prints made of German postcard images.you can have them if you want them. This antique cast iron table top photo or mirror frame measures 12&1/2" tall. And the opening is approximately 4&5/16" x 6&1/8" It's made of heavy cast iron with a brass-colored metallic paint or plating. As shown, it's in very good condition, with no breaks or missing metal, just typical wear to the brass paint/plate here and there and a nice aged patina. The stand works fine. This does not have any backing. But since this has a metal stand, something can easily be rigged up to hold a photo or small mirror in the frame. I actually displayed this with a piece of murky antique shaving mirror glass in it, but because it was a bit small for the frame I had to place a slightly larger piece of glass taken out of a photo frame behind it to hold it in place, so I am NOT including the mirror in this listing.

Flowers and Angels in a Romantic Victorian Style(see photos) The frame measures about 1 foot 1 inches high and 1 foot 4 inches wide. The opening for the photograph or mirror is about 8 inches high and 12 inches wide. I would date the frame to be 75 +/ years old. This attractive old cast iron picture frame is fresh out of a local estate sale. It measures 13 1/2" x 8 1/2" and the picture opening is 4 5/6" x 3 1/4" This frame is beautifully detailed with bow. Drapes and garlands. I believe this frame dates to the mid 19th century. Unfortunately the frame is missing the back easel stand so the frame cannot stand alone. There are a few shallow age lines around the bow. The bow area is completely sturdy. Original patina with deep mellow gilt paint. No manufacturer's mark. This frame is exceptionally lovely.

I think this is cast iron with a brass finish. Original to the piece, metal is magnetic.
