Antique Vintage OVAL BRASS METAL Standing Picture FRAME PAT. May 19 1908
This auction is for an antique oval brass picture frame. It is dated Pat. May 19. 1908. The frame is 4" 3 3/8" It has some scuffs as seen in the photo. No glass pane, I do not think it ever had one. Metal back just slides out for placement of picture. Someone had added the velvet piece, could easily be removed. PLEASE CHECK OUR OTHER AUCTION ON EBAY This is an antique old picture frame. The frame features twenty four large clear stones and six red rhinestones around the frame. All of them in prong set. A rope rim around the photo area and rope style feet. It measures about 3 1/8" tall and 2 3/8" wide. The photo space is about 2 1/4" by 1 3/4" The metal of frame looks brass. It has original metal stand. The backing is tin type metal. The frame originally has four cut tabs to hold the backing, two of them missing, the remaining two still can hold the backing nicely. I leave them un-fold for you to put in photo. The condition is great with all stones intact. Few of clear stones a bit darken from ages, but no chips. Some light patina on metal. 1930's Antique gold gilt metal / brass FILIGREE VANITY PICTURE FRAME Ornate
Old frame. Has some dark areas of patina from normal age and use. I cleaned it a little with soap and soft brush but dark areas. the gold gilding. Very ornate pierced detail filigree with five petal flowers set on each of the curved"ruffles" The previous owner told me this was her Mom's and it originally had matching perfume bottles so this was from a set. I only have the frame. Dark burgundy velvety fabric on the back and it can either stand or be hung on a wall as it has two rings for attaching a picture wire. 12-1/4" high. 10" across the outer measurement, and the photograph size would be for a standard 8" by 10" I tried to slip the back board in with some white tissue paper behind the glass to show the frame best but the paper slid up because it was too thick. That is why you see only a strip of black ... morealong the bottom. The reverse of the velvet backing is black. Guaranteed to be as described though not sold on approval. As is. VINTAGE BRASS TONE FRAME MOIRE MAT w/ METAL LINER & ANTIQUE PRINT 2 WOMEN 1880's
BEAUTIFUL VINTAGE TOOLED-DESIGN METAL FRAME– BRASS TONE WITH INSET BRASS TONE LINER INSIDE THE MOIRE MAT– Frame and contents weigh almost 2 pounds before any packing materials. Frame is circa 1930– 1940’s– the print is earlier and could be partially hand colored. The frame contains glass. The original velvet easel back in pretty good original condition, a moiré type mat w/ metal decoration, and a colored antique print of 2 women, probably 1860’s. Raised tooled design on all sides of the frame– the sides have a floral design that matches the floral appliqué on each corner. Antique print which is visible about 7 ¼ inches by just less 9 ¼ inches. The print is taped to the back of the mat– see photo. MEASUREMENTS: from the outside the measurements are 10 inches by 12 inches. With a piece of glass approximately the same size ... morethat slides into the frame from the lower back side. The glass, the mat, and the print are held in place by the easel back. The frame contains a moiré mat with an inset liner of brass tone metal. A few minor discolorations on the metal mat liner– would probably polish out. The metal frame is attracted by a magnet. The mat opening from the front is 7 ¼ inches by just less 9 ¼ inches. This antique or vintage oval brass picture frame is 2 ¼ inches wide and 3 inches tall. And the viewable area is about 2 ½ inches tall and a little under 2 inches wide. It has a plain design with a beaded edge. And an easel back for standing. The back and glass just push out of the frame for inserting the picture. This is made from brass. Or a metal with a brass finish, I’m not sure which. The glass has quite a few chips around the edge which for the most part are covered by the frame. But there is one at the top that you can see if you are looking for it– see 2 photos with arrows of this one spot. It is more noticeable in the photos than it looks on the actual frame. The metal has a warm aged color that is darkened and somewhat uneven. Overall good vintage condition on this charming little frame. Art Nouveau Antique Picture Frame Here we have an antique Art Nouveau style picture frame. Stamped on it's easel is: Pat Oct 29 01(see photo) There is also marking at the bottom of it that I can't read(see last photo) Approx. Size: 5" wide x 7" ht. This is from my personal collection. I purchased this frame in an antique store in the San Francisco Bay Area back in the 1980's. I believe it could be made of brass. It has no glass. It has a nice vintage patina to it with worn spots in the finish. I have never cleaned it. It has an easel style stand. Final sale item. This is an awesome old picture frame. I've never seen one like it. Estate find! There is a picture of an older gentleman in a white suit& straw hat.very dapper. The photo has a little damage in lower right corner. But the real attraction here is the frame. It measures approx. 2" x 3" And stands on a tabletop, dressing table, etc. There is a glass in the frame. Not sure what kind of metal.brass maybe? bronze? I haven't cleaned or polished it. Antique Brass Plated Metal Easel Photo Frame CDV Size French Style
I believe this small antique brass-plated metal photo frame was intended to hold carte de visite size photos. It measures approximately 3" x 4&1/4" overall and the back plate measures approximately 2&1/2" x 3&7/8" As shown. It has scratches and wear, a bend in the metal, and a piece of old cellophane tape(stubbornly) stuck to the back. I've never tried to straighten out the bend because I like the way it looks as it is. I couldn't find a manufacturer's mark. But the back is imprinted"pat apl'd for" and what looks like the date Sep 14 97(1897) is imprinted at the bottom of frame back. Please note that the metal does not attract a magnet-I stuck a business card in the frame for display and used a small rare earth magnet on BOTH sides of the metal to hold it in place.

These are two matching antique victorian brass filigree picture frames. They are very old and were acquired at an estate auction of a very prominent town citizen. Their features are many: convex glass. Beautiful filigree frame, center photo panel measuring 1-1/8" x 2-1/8" The frames themselves measure 4-1/8"x 5-1/8" 6-1/8" including the ornate top. The background panel is ivory velvet with handpainted rosebuds and leaves. VTG Antique Picture Frame-Heavy Metal-Brass/Bronze color 11 1/4 by 8 1/4 USA
There is no name on the metal frame it is in great shape. It does look like the stand piece in the back has probably been replaced because it is black and looks newer but still made from the same type of metal. The lady is sitting/reclining in a chair watching a butterfly. Very decorative with flowers and ornate design. I purchased this in 1981 or 82 at an antique store in Branford. Fla. for my Mother-in-law who loves antiques. The white stuff on the back of the frame is glue from the tape she used. The inside of the frame is 5 1/4 in. by 3 1/2 in. opening. The frame does have a metal piece that helps it to stand. Very heavy. There is no glass to go inside the frame but it does have a clear thick piece of plastic that was used. The plastic is in good shape.

Up for auction is an antique metal mat frame insert recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia PA area. It is overall 3.75 x 4.75" with an opening 2.25 x 3.25" Very nice pressed embossing on the metal. Only condition issue is a corner that has losses and a couple minor dents that will be easy to fix up. No makers marks. Does not take a magnet. Very nice decorative metal mat. Antique LARGE French Gilt Brass Metal Ormolu Easel Photo Frame
This antique brass-plated metal photo frame has such a gorgeous detailed design of daisies. Roses, and swags-please view the closeups and use zoom feature to see the fine detail. It has wear and patina, but is structurally sound, with no significant scratches. It does have tarnish and some verdigris here and there, which only adds to its chic and shabby appeal! As shown. There is very old cloth tape residue on the bottom-I presume this would have been to protect a tabletop, as there is no need for the tape otherwise since the metal has no significant separation and no breaks anywhere. This measures approximately 8&1/4" tall(at corners) x 6&3/4" and the frame opening measures approximately 7&1/8" x 6&1/8" There are no maker's markings. But someone has discreetly scratched tiny initials(perhaps the intended ... moreinheritor's? into the metal in two places on the back.
