It measures approx. 17" long. Nice paintings on the side of what appears to be a four leaf clover. These boats were usually made by local tradesman as souvenirs to be sold in gift shops in Adirondack. Cabin and Mountain tourist locations. I think this is a particularly nice example. There is no markings that would indicate where the canoe came from. Although often listed as made by Indians, that was not usually the case. Condition. The piece is in very good condition. There are no breaks or cracks in the birch. All the original threading is intact that holds the canoe together. Has the original cross pieces inside the canoe as well. This 10" x 12" charming piece reminds me of pictures I've seen photographed in old English houses. And although the print did not originally come with the frame, the Adirondack frame compliments the picture nicely. The frame, like most old things(including myself these days) does show some wear. There is a piece of the leaf missing in the lower left hand corner and the gold on the inside shows some discoloration. Old primitive wood criss-cross frame with the original wavy leaded glass and wooden back. Inside is an old litho print of a Victorian lady. It is stamped.Salisbury. NC. It looks like an advertising print that was cut out and framed. The print shows age and has moisture damage along the edges. The wood frame and glass are in excellent condition. The brass tacks at the corners appear to have been added at some point.are not original. It measures 23 1/2" by 19 1/2" The opening for photo is 14" by 10 1/4" measuring on the back. The mirror appears to have been recently added and the backing is relatively new. 11-3/4" wide x 13-3/4" ... morehigh x 2-1/2" thick overall 7-1/2" x 9-1/2" inside frame dimensions, The dark color of the back of the frame shows that this is an older frame. I can see one chip to the tip of one of the applied leaves. And relatively minor wear to the gilding. Aside from that, this piece seems fine to me, and quite nice. Here is a beautiful old antique walnut picture frame. Made in the Adirondack style with carved bark molding, and inner gilt with striped tiger gilt gesso. The entire frame measures 20 1/2 x 26 1/2 ins. while the insert rabbet size is 16 1/8 x 22 1/8 ins. The molding is about 3 ins. wide, and it has a deep cove appearance. The frame is in fair as is condition with a piece of gesso chipped at inner right bottom side, could be touched up with gold paint or left as is. The frame has some mild surface scrapes/scratches common with age. It is a tad wobbly, you would probably consider re-gluing the miter joints for stability.This frame can be used vertically or horizontally. I would date this frame to the 1870-80s time period. On the back(last 3 photo's) of this wonderfully Carved wood Adirondack frame is a sliver of wood with the words" God Bless My Darling" and in pencil underneath mounted by R.T. Smith 1875. The dark brown Criss Cross Adirondack wood frame is very special with its wonderful detailed carvings of leaves all around and a gold inner frame. This would be such a beautiful gift for any mother. Has the original wavy glass and the original rough sawn wood picture backing while antique square nails hold the original inner and outer frames together. The frame looks to be hand carved. Has some chips and paint loss on the inner gold frame borders. There is also a split in the inner frame border on the back side where the original square nail ties to the outer frame. This is a beautiful Victorian walnut picture frame with applied leaves on the corners. It holds an 8" x 10" picture. Overall measurement is 12-1/2" x 14-3/4" It has gold wash on the inside lip of the frame. Fairly good condition with some small nicks and the bottom two leaves on the outside are broken off. Still. Vintage Adirondack Criss Cross Frame --- Antique Little Girl Print --- 15” x 19”
This beautiful old Adirondack criss cross frame has wonderful flat leaf rosettes at each corner. It’s sound and solid and sturdy. Showing only minor light wear, with a nice patina. The outer edges of the“criss crosses” measure about 19.25” x 15.25” The frame opening on the back, where a print or photo would fit, measures about 15” x 10” The antique print is of a precious little girl in a hooded shawl with a bow in front. The print has quite a bit of wear…there’s creases in several spots… a water stain at the bottom… and a few narrow tears that you can see in the photos. Even with these flaws, the print looks marvelous for hanging…there’s a lot of character there! The frame is in great condition. Showing light wear only… nothing major. There’s what appears to be some dried glue around the lower right leaf rosette… perhaps the rosette was reglued ... moreat some time. There’s no hangar on the back of the frame. Antique Miniature ADIRONDACK Victorian Frame A. FRENCH Co. 2 1/2 x 3 1/4 c.1871
Here is a terribly cute. Tee-tiny antique Adirondack style picture frame. I have never seen one this small and delicate. The entire frame measures 5 5/8 x 5 5/8 ins. The inner rabbet is about 2 1/2 x 3 3/8 ins.approx. Since I am not going to take the backing off, I cannot measure it perfectly, but that is close. Looks like it was made for an old tintype photograph. Or maybe a salesman's sample, but it is so delicate, I am certain if it had been it would not have survived all these decades. On the back are two embossed stamps into the cardboard. One reads Trade Boston Mark, in a star. the other reads A or B. French Co. Boston, Sole Gents.Then in the center June 27, 1871. Being offered for a nod of nostalgic passion and consideration is a gathering of three identical(what I call) Black Forest/or Adirondack frames. This gathering of three were purchased in the Historical Hill District of Grand Rapids(the furniture city of old) Michigan. Each frame with its bark like façade and embellishments of floral leaf design at all corner placement is truly a treasure found. Due to age and their fragile nature each frame supports a less than perfect. However more than expected demeanor. View all photos. The leaves which are carved thin wood are less than perfect. One frame does ... morehave missing the extension past the frame on the top. These antique frames will need a good cleaning upon arrival. So allow yourself time before the“wows” set in. In their infancy. These frames must have been show stoppers, because at this age-they are pretty darn impressive. Each of the matching frames measure around 22 x 10 ¼ inches from outside edge to edge. Actual framing size is that of 21 x 8 ¾. On interior) Gold embellishment surround the picture area and truly contribute to its elegance. Under the gold visible gesso. Which confirms the quality of the frames. I must reiterate: this set of three is tremendously impressive. However they are less than perfect. On all frames included in the count three carved wood leafs are in full. The rest have particle appearance. Glass and backing are not included. A great piece of the past to display own and cherish.
