The frame including the ribbon top measures approx 22" top to bottom. The oval approx 20" top to bottom by 14" wide. The inside measurements for the photo or picture would be approx 19" x 13.5" The frame is made of metal- it magnetizes and has a gold or brass tone plating. The top ribbon section does not magnetize- not sure if it is brass or not. The frame is in Excellent Original Condition and comes with the original rope twist wall hanger accoutrement. There are no stains or tears. The coloring remains Sharp and Bright! The date is in the lower left corner. The Antique Aesthetic Movement Wood Frame is also in Great Condition! There are no significant chips or loss of the extensive ornate gesso decoration. There has been some touch up of the finish in the corners at some time, very minor and not easily noticeable when the frame is hung. It displays Beautifully! The original wavy glass. This nicely preserved 1880s frame was converted to a shadow box back in the 1950s or 60s. It could easily be reversed by removing the plywood on the back if you like. The frame measures 12 ½” x 14 ½” with a reveal of 7 ½” x 9 ½” and a back opening of 8” x 10” The depth of the box is 3 ¾” overall; 3 3/8” without the rabbet. This is a beautiful pair of antique Victorian Eastlake gold gilt Aesthetic Movement frames. They date from the 1880s to the 1890s. They do have some minor gesso loss. But otherwise they are in very good condition. They're a really pretty pair of frames. With wonderful detail. The inside section is partially gold gilded and partially painted gold. The exterior section is molded gesso over wood with copper and bronze color metallic leaf. Popular during the anesthetic movement period. ANTIQUE Victorian Aesthetic CARVED Black Lacquer Ebony Picture Frame 1800's WOW
This is an Antique Picture Frame. It dates from the mid 1800's and measures 12 3/16ths by 14 3/16ths inches. It is black lacquer over wood with gold gilt. This is frame in frame construction. One wood frame inside another. The outer frames black lacquer is cut or carved to reveal the chalk or plaster underneath that is over the wood. Shown in my photos is a corner view of the construction and a view of each corners hand cut decoration. It has a cheezy 1960's Robert Wood copy print in it, I'm sure you can do better than that! Good condition for its years, but not without minor flaws.

This is a gorgeous old double frame! Has lots of wonderful thick and raised gesso designs! Floral and acanthus leaves in gilded copper on the outer frame. Vines and tree branch in gilded gold on the inner frame. Outer frame measures 3" wide. 19" across, 21" long. Inner frame is 2" wide. 14" across, 16" long. Opening is 10 1/2" across. 12 1/4" long. Inner frame needs to be reattached to outer frame in some places. Outer frame is gapping at the corners. Very little gesso is missing. Just on the corners of the large frame. It has some wear and loss from age. Use and handling. It has a few interior liner spacers that could be removed if you were trying to fit it to a specific painting. It measures about 34 inches by 28 inches on the outer edges. The opening as it is now is about 26 inches wide by 20 inches wide(looks to be opened to a maximum of about 28.5 by 22.5 inches) I would date this frame to 125+/ years old. There is glass shown in the photographs I will NOT ship the glass. If you want to pick up the frame in person I will leave the glass in place. A rather unusual and quite elegant. Somewhat classical period Aesthetic Movement smaller frame. Very nice mix of varied details and motifs. All working together to yield a fine effect. Overall fairly good condition. Shows very well: There is a minor loss of the finial piece on the top-right. Not a big detraction. Though, and certainly a fairly easy restoration. If desired. Also, it appears that there may have been some detail below both bottom'legs' But looks quite presentable as it is, in my opinion. The gesso detail.the beading and scrolling-foliate work below. Are nicely intact. The original ruffled blue fabric is remaining. Though age-worn, along with the blue velvet around the inner brass frame. The H-form Victorian aesthetic example in natural oak wood finish gesso and bronze gilt measures 12 ½” x 6 ¾” overall; 5 ½” x 3 ¾” reveal and accommodates an image 5 7/8” x 4” The H-form wood finished gesso with rust colored inner velvet liner measures 9 7/8” x 6” overall; 5 3/8” x 3 ¾” and presumably holds a 6” x 4” cabinet card; the original paste board back with twist wire easel support is brittle so we chose not to remove it. The lemon gold and gilt gesso open work frame with replaced easel support back measures 8 ½” x 6 ¼” overall; 6 5/8” x 4 3/8” reveal; 6 7/8” x 4 5/8” back opening. I don't pick up too many of these deepwells unless they are unusually nice. This is one of those frames. An outstanding c1860 walnut deepwell with multipart frame construction producing a 4 layer deep frame. This one has an outer walnut frame. A brightly gilded inner frame followed by an incised, ebonized molding and a brightly gilded incised site liner. The frame is in fantastic condition with only minor wear and has the original wavy glass and shingle backboard. Mitered corners with square nailed construction. Aesthetic Movement brass filigree frame with a fancy metal easel back and a loop for the wall. Piece holds an 8 x 10 image. Hibiscus flowers are on the feet and the top pediment. 1880s Victorian Ebonized Easel Back Picture Frame Orig Matting &Bezel Aesthetic
Description This wonderful Victorian frame stands 11" tall by 7" wide. And holds a picture 7" by 5. It is made from ebonized wood with carved patterning which is white and gold and reflects the aesthetic movement with an added oriental flair. The frame still has its original matting which is flocked or velvet in a mottled design. Once purple in color, it is now a warm brown and still lovely. The bezel around the picture is has tiny gold flecks. The back of the frame has an easel stand made from wire attached to black cardboard. It has either been shortened or came from another frame. It does stand well, though. The frame is holding a Victorian photo of a pretty young woman. The frame is in very good condition with minor nicks to the black. Large antique Aesthetic Period picture frame/gold leaf/beautifully crafted
A large and very impressive antique frame of the American Aesthetic Period. Circa 1880-90. It is oak with wonderful and sophisticated decoration and design. It looks like the oak is washed in gold and the decorative elements around the borders are finished with gold leaf. There are also some black paint appointments on some of the flowers and the beading. I don't know who made this frame but it is of the best craftsmanship. There are some numbers on the back that may be a clue to the maker. Overall size of the frame is 31" by 36. Interior rabbet is 22" by 27. Condition is as found and as shown. There are a few beads lost and the interior liner shows some loss by rubbing- probably a maid with a water-based cloth that removed some of the leaf. The patina is great and might even be better once dusted and cleaned up a bit. Pair Ornate Aesthetic Movement Art Nouveau Antique Gold Gilded Frames
This is a beautiful pair of ornate antique gold gilded frames. I would date them late 19th century. They seem to have an Aesthetic Movement feeling to them as well as a sense of Art Nouveau. Talk about a gorgeous pair of frames! The detail on them is just lovely. And the gold color is simply beautiful. They are very well-made and must have been very expensive in their day. They are of such good quality that they appear to be handcarved. But I believe they are applied compo. Overall. Each measures 17 1/4 inches x 20 1/4 inches(43.82 cm x 51.44 cm) The back opening sizes are 14 1/8 inches x 17 1/8 inches(35.8 cm x 43.5 cm) The moldings are 1 3/4 inches wide(4.45 cm) One has its original wood backing. Each has hairline cracks on them due to age. But these definitely do not take away from the look of the frames. They also each have a few minor ... morenicks on them and some loss of gold along the side edges. But nothing bad. They are unusual in that the glass was put between the gold liner and the outer frame. Perhaps there were watercolors or drawings in them originally. But there may have been paintings. I'm just not sure. They have developed a really beautiful warm. Golden patina. Together they weigh 10 lbs. 13 oz. 4.9 kg) They were definitely made by a very skilled and talented framemaker. This is an unusual and especially attractive Aesthetic Period or Victorian picture frame with an ebonized or black enamel finish and incised decoration. The frame contains a period Victorian print entitled"First Grief" depicting a girl with a dead pet bird. All in all a very nice. Decorative piece. The frame is in very good condition. Frame has the original cutout photo of a neo-classic statue of a child crying that is mounted on a gray matting with hand painted decorations. A very nice Aesthetic Period frame for a cabinet photo. With black enamel or ebonized finish with incised decoration Designed to hold a 5" x 7" cabinet photo. Currently has a modern photocopy of an old portrait of a woman in an Aesthetic Period interior. The frame measures 6 1/4" wide by 8" with the side rails measuring 9 3/4" tip to tip. This is a fantastic. Rare c1870 Victorian Aesthetic Eastlake gilded deepwell frame. I rarely come across these and when i do. They usually have been repainted.this is only the third one i've come across in great shape and with the original surface. Frame is in excellent condition and measures 13 x 15 with an 8 x 10 rabbet and is 3" deep. In addition the mat holds a picture approx. 4 x 5 1/2. Mitered corners and gilded sides. 1880's Victorian Ebonized Eastlake DOUBLE Picture Frame Orig Matting Aesthetic
This item is fresh out of a local basement where it was stored for years! I don't recall seeing one like this before! Overall. The piece is about 12 x 16 and does have some chipping, wear, and touchups to some chipped areas. One of the small brass half metal pieces is missing in the u/r. The piece still displays just well as it is. The decorative picture frames flip up. I'm not sure if there was wire holding them at one time like a magazine rack that would hang on a wall.
