Very nice impressive size measuring approximately. 10 1/4" across, 6 3/4" wide and 6 3/4" tall. Charming Rococo style. Central is an adorable Mermaid/Cherub/Putto arising from a pink. Ruffled petal, holding a shell above her head. Flanked on either side by an inkwell and another"well" meant to hold a drying substance to sprinkle on the newly composed missives. The front quill/pen holder part is a large scalloped shell embellished with a bouquet of flowers. The"vessel" holding the drying substance has a"butterfly" finial/handle. The base is curvaceous with gold detail. In remarkably good antique condition. The colors are bright and vibrant. No chips or stains. Minor paint loss commensurate with age. There are two firing cracks on the front"pen shell" And one small hairline on the left side which I believe occurred during the firing, since it appears to be an extension of the firing flaw. I think the cover of the inkwell originally had a small finial, but is not distracting. This really is an exceptional Inkwell- quite unique and even rare. An objet de vertu! Thank you for stopping! Here is a Fine and Rare ANTIQUE COLLECTION OF SEVEN c.LATE-18THC to EARLY-19THC CARVED AND PAINTED WAX PORTRAITS OF NOTABLE ENGLISH AND FRENCH FIGURES. The portraits have been beautifully presented and framed under glass in their history along with old provenance notes and papers about the collection attached to the old 19thC back board screwed into the back of the frame. The entire piece framed is 15.5" x 15.5" The collection includes a larger wax portrait of"NAPOLEON BONAPARTE. c.1810" in center which is signed"J. Flaxman. Fecit" under shoulder; a nice portrait of"SIR THOMAS PICTON c.1815" in lower right corner which is also signed"Flaxman" a portrait of"COLONEL COOKE. c.1815" in upper left which is signed"Gatteaux ... moreF. under shoulder; a portrait of"ADMIRAL ST. The detail work in this crucifix is gorgeous! Notice the Sacred Heart symbol at the base. And the arrows on each point of the cross! I was told when I purchased it that it is from the 1800's. But I don't see any markings. Measures: measures 15" tall x 5.5" wide Condition: It has lovely patina with darkened tarnished metal and verdigris. Metal is soft and bends easily in places- most of this is in back of the crucifix and some of the metal is bent as a result.

This beautiful large 29 inches tall rare antique 1907 Tete Jumeau is in good condition. Although her head was broken at one time and has been professionally restored. The artist repairer did a good restoration and she is just beautiful despite this imperfection. I lighted the inside of her head and found the damage to be localized to one side of her head. I took close up pictures with zoom magnification so you could see this. The facial paint was not repainted. She has a nice composition body that is fully jointed for easy poising. She is wearing a beautiful dress made of a ruby red silk material and has a matching bonnet. She has a human hair wig. She has wonderful blue paperweight eyes and pierced ears with earrings. These were first given to newlyweds in the 1800's to preserve their wedding souvenirs as well as tell the story of their wedding and life together. Placed prominently in the formal dining room it held the brides crown or bridal tiara made from fresh or wax orange blossoms, at times her wax floral bouquet. He is crowned King of France 25 January 1515 in the Cathedral of Reims. He reigned until his death in 1547. Here again. The emblem and the animal preferred Francis 1st: Salamander. Offering for your consideration a vintage Baptismal commemoration piece composed of French glass seed bead work in the form of a cross with a hand painted bisque angel in the center. The little cherub is surrounded by seed bead flowers. They are daisies with pale powder blue centers. Larger daisy blossoms decorate the top. Sides and bottom of the cross. The workmanship is extremely fine: a true labor of love. I have seen similar French bead work pieces made in the shape of a cradle with a bisque angel and also a cake topper with a bisque angle. All to commemorate and celebrate the birth of a baby. The piece measures 22" long by nearly 14" wide by 4" deep where the angel's head and wings are attached. For sale is this rare and simply exquisite piece of Victorian Beadwork Art. It is such an item of unique beauty that I was so tempted to keep it. Still am. But I love beautiful art and do have enough. Can you imagine how many hours it took to create? And such a creative mind. The item is three dimensional as shown. It was created on a metal frame. Colors are lovely shades of white, grey and yellow. An ebayer just informed me that it is a French mourning wreath. This delicate item is a true survivor, but it does have a few issues. There are beads missing in one area as shown. One of the petals is dangling and needs a little wire repair. However, this really does not detract form its overall beauty and even adds a bit of history with its little imperfections. As you can tell, I find this unique, exquisite and outstanding.
