This was how ... morethe glass blower broke the fly trap off of the blow pipe. The stopper was finished the same way. The top of the trap was ground smooth after wetting-off as you can see. The fly trap is 8" tall and 6 1/2" in diameter with no damage or gross wear to note. We love to combine shipping when practical. North American customers just pay the most expensive shipping charge and pay only $2.00 more for each added item. Of course exceptions do apply(heavy or bulky items) and on the other side(light and unbreakable items) but you get the general idea. Antique Pressed Glass Cruet 3 Mold Blown Clear early 1900s This Cruet was in our family about 1905 to 1906. We inherited a large group of items from this period and are selling only the ones we don't know anything about. It measures 6 1/2 inches tall with the stopper and 1 3/4 inches across the bottom. It has a large diamond design. There are no chips or cracks. There is residue in the bottom inside. A rough spot on the exterior bottom appears to be from the mold. Inside the opening where the top fits is sharp around the top edge which also appears to have been caused by the blowing process. We took this to an auction house for a description. He advised this is early 1900s and is hand blown. It is referred to as Three Mold Blown. He confirmed that the rough spot on the bottom and around the cruet opening(where the stopper goes) are created ... morethis way in the original blowing process. 3 Antique Basket Bowls, Individual Sz; Diff Shapes; "Pat'd Appl For"; Cut Look
I grouped this together as they are all like serving bowls but small. The oval shapes divided bowl(3.75"x2.5"x1.5" has a tinge of yellow to it and has a chip on the upper edge(see upper edge of individual picture) There are a few flea bites. But very minor. The basket is rectangular shaped(4"x2"x1.75" and also divided. Glass has a basket weave look to it; no damage. The other one(4.5" to point spout, 2.25" tall, 1.25" wide) that reminds me of an anvil must be to pour something. It is marked at the bottom with"Patd. The Large Globe Cut Crystal Bowl appears to be at least 24% Lead Crystal due to the weight and the Joyous ringing out when it is gently"pinged" The ringing lingers for a very very long time. The Rose Etched Vintage Glass Bowl appears to be the oldest of the three. Again. Not much is known about this bowl(depression era? and it doesn't make a crystal ringing note. Finally. The Pineapple design Oval Trifle Bowl is very pleasing and the deep cut glass design catches the light in a most mischievous manner. The note when pinged does not sound as melodic as crystal.more like a ships bell if you must know. Perhaps this is pressed glass? Antique Czechoslovakian? Multi Color Art Glass 3 Piece Groups Fruits Flowers
This Auction is for 3 individual clusters of varying sizes of antique mini pieces of flowers. Leaves, and fruits probably from Czechoslovakia. The largest group is approximately 7 1/2" long and 3" high. The medium cluster is 6" long and 2" high. The smallest cluster is 7 1/2" around. The assembled combination of flowers, leaves and fruits are wired together in an array of amethyst, green, pink and vaseline colored pieces along with clear and frosted ones. As seen in the photos many of the glass flowers are faceted. Some of the pieces in each cluster have nicks, scratches and chips, not uncommon considering the age of the pieces and the type of arrangement. Thank you for viewing these items. Overall, they all appear to be in wonderful condition, except the tip of one of the leaves is broken off, a stem of another has come off, and the red tulip's stem is not complete. At first, I wondered if it was meant to be shorter than the others for variance of height, but I can see where it had come off. A late 19th Century Victorian oak tantalus with Gothic style brass fittings. The body holds three cut glass decanters which all match and appear to be original. The decanters are accessed by unlocking and opening the flip type doors. Underneath the doors is a compartment with two moveable dividers. The lock is a Bramah type and still functions locking the doors. Although please note the key is a replacement. To the top is a shield plaque which is etched with‘The Widness Athletic Club 1887’ The decanters are of square form with hobnail cutting and chunky lapidary stoppers. An attractive Victorian glass dump type paperweight. It is an antique example and dates around 1880. It is in green glass as typically found for these pieces and they were thought to be made at provincial glass factories. This example is of torpedo shape and has a disc foot for added stability. It has been quite carefully made for its type and it features three tiered flowers set with air bubble centers and a pot beneath. This paperweight is a nice example of its type and more carefully made than average. The lot comprising: 1 large colorless glass finial with red and white pulled feather design along the interior, the glass mounted to a shaped cylindrical metal base decorated with an Art Nouveau/Aesthetic style gold over gesso pattern of overlapping flowers and vines, the underside lined with felt; together with 2 similar colorless glass finials, the interiors blown with colorful undulating flower forms with captive bubbles, with tapering bases(one polished) both unmarked. Could be used for a little tot of something or are they possibly glasses for dolls? They have a good age about them with unevenness to the glass indicative of age. A group of three Dram glasses. There is a pair of cut glass Victorian/Edwardian examples which have a slice cut foot and these are in good condition. These are 2 5/8 inches high with a Rim diameter of 2 inches. The single example. I am led to believe, is an early 19th Century wheel engraved, waisted, Toasting( or Dram) Marriage glass with Love Birds and double Heart and leaf engraving and is probably Continental. The height of this glass is 2 3/8 inches with a Rim diameter of 1 1/2 inches. The condition is good but there is a minute'fleabite' to the inner rim edge. Antique BLUE BLOWN GLASS WITCH BALL- NEW ENGLAND. 4 3/4" D This is an antique blue blown glass witch ball that is 4 3/4" in diameter and circa 1800 to 1850. Or so. This is New England in origin, and witch balls were supposedly hung in the window to ward away witches. This has an open pontil from the glass blowing process, and it could be hung using a small stick inserted into the open pontil hole. The color is a nice, rich blue, and there are several small bubbles, swirls and imperfections in the glass, and there is no damage. Some actually come with separate blown stands of matching glass. I have owned a lot of these, but this is the first one I have found in several years. A tall late 19th century Victorian clear glass two part mould penny lick ice cream glass with thick glass pedestal stem.Circular pad foot base and long funnel shaped bowl- the thick glass disguised the fact that the actual bowl was very shallow. Glass penny licks were used to serve ice cream.Mainly by street vendors,at a cost of one penny per serving.Once the customer had licked the glass clean it would be returned to the vendor for reuse frequently without washing.Penny licks were replaced by wafer cones at the beginning of the 20th century because of hygiene problems,consequent illness and spread of disease. From a collection of penny licks that I have listed for sale on eBay- this one is second left in the photograph of four penny licks. Offered for auction is this super colorful 3 piece Victorian glass set in the Croesus pattern by Riverside Glass Works of Wellsburg. WV, circa 1897. Absolutely vivid green color with loads of original gold gilding all over the 3 pieces. Can find only two chips. One is on one foot of the pitcher where the face of the foot has chipped off and the other is on the rim of the little bowl where you can see the gold gilding missing. 8505 Three Bistro Rummers Description A set of three late 19th century rummer glasses. The style is that used in pavement cafe's and these examples may well be of French rather than British origin. The glasses are made in soda glass and have baluster shaped stems. The bowls are of cup form and they have been etched with hops and vines suggesting their intended use was for ales. The size(about the same as a current small wine glass) would indicate they would have served fine quality ales rather than regular beer. A pleasing little group. Condition Two in good order for the period with just minor wear. The third example has a bruise to the rim. But no sharp edges so could also be used if required. 3 Fabulous Antique /Vintage Early Victorian Drinking Glasses - Lovely Engravings
3 really pretty Victorian drinking glasse. Two of the glasses are clearly a pair. These glasses have pretty ferns and flowers engraved onto them. The other glass has a lovely grape vine engraved around it. The three glasses are all hand-blown and very well made. They are all nicely shaped, very sweet and dainty. The pair have polished pontil marks while the other is rough. Due to being hand made there are some rather charming imperfections, the bases aren't completely circular and the pair aren't perfectly matched. These imperfections all add to the character and charm of these glasses though. There are some encased inclusions in the glass. There appear to be no chips or cracks in the glasses.
