Large vintage antique armoire wardrobe nice needs TLC LOOK
Very nice old armoire/wardrobe. I am not sure of the age. But I know I was given this as a child(around 7) and I am 40. It came from my aunt who had it for 30 years that I know of. so its possibly 70 years old? I could not find a name or mark on it anywhere.It stands 52 1/2 inches tall. The legs keep it 5 inches off the ground. The front legs are a carved design but the back ones have had blocks added to them. Not sure if they had designs too that broke off or what. It has always been like this since I have had it. Its 18 1/2 inches wide(19 1/2 if you count the decorative lip around the top) Its 37 inches across(38 if you count the lip) The doors stay shut with a little latch thing inside. The doors are 41 x 17 and 1 inch thick. Its divided inside in 2. One side is probably for hanging items, but there was never a rod in there to hang anything. ... moreThat side is 16 1/2 x 21 and 46 inches tall. The other side has 3 shelves. Top one is 14 inches across, 15 inches back to front and 15 inches tall. The middle one is 14 inches across, 15 inches back to front and 10 inches tall. The bottom one is 14 inches across, 16 inches back to front and 20 inches tall. Cool decorative features around door knobs and at top, bottom and sides. Knobs are original. It has lost some of the wood on top, sides, on door. You can see in pictures. It has been painted outside 100 times. Last time was about 12 years ago my sister and I stripped it and tried to stain it cherry. Crappy job. But if someone is really god with furniture you could get this to look brand new. This two piece fancy TV Armoire used to be in my Grand Parents Condo. My Aunt bought it for them in 81. She paid $12,000.00 for it. Their condo had very fancy furniture. Just the dinning room table sold for $25,000.00 in 2011, when we sold the place. One of the features is that both doors of the top Armoire go in into their own rail. And the bottom of the TV(base) moves out. The bottom unit. Has also two doors and inside it has two drawers. Sizes are: Seven feet six inches tall(7' 6" = 90" The top piece is 62" tall by 58" wide or long. and 28 inches deep. I would say that a 42" TV will fit. The bottom piece is 28" tall Both pieces fit to the Tee.

Henredon Four Centuries Vintage French Large Oak Armoire w/ Fitted Interior
Henredon Four Centuries French Heavily Carved Oak Armoire with Fitted Interior. The armoire has 2 beautifully carved doors that open to a fitted interior. On the front center of the oak doors are oval shaped carvings that include circling rosettes and leaves. The ribbing of this oval shape intertwines with the carvings of the paneled front. Here there is an ornate vertically placed brass pull with a cut out back plate. The center fluting continues from the top to the bottom of the doors. Towards the top of the door are additional floral style carvings framed by the curved paneled front. Also. B oth sides of the armoire are paneled. In the top center is a carved medallion depicting a vase with flowers cascading outwards. On each side of the medallion are carved vines extending horizontally towards the side of the cabinet. The top is raised ... morein the center with thick rounded moulding finishing the edge. The base has french style scrolled front legs and simple rear legs. Curved moulding between the two front legs and between the front and rear legs. The fitted interior has one large shelf on top. 8 cubby holes, and 4 drawers. The top drawer is fitted with partitions and jewelry storage. The interior of cabinet is in excellent condition; all drawers open and closely properly with clean interiors. 72" tall and 46" wide. I purchased this over 30 years ago and it is exquisite. It has compartments for dishes and table linens. I have it crammed with stuff. There is a huge bottom drawer for even more storage. The doors and header have inlaid marquetry. It is in very good condition with minimal wear and tear.
