The measuring tape on the pictures is for size references Very fine bombe shape petite commode en bois de placade with an original Verona Rosso marble top. Was made in France in early 1900 in the style of 18th century furniture. It measures about 33" tall. 15" deep and 32 1/2" wide. Legs are about 10" tall. Drawers are about 8" deep and 19" wide. Small convenient size makes this item really versatile; basically any house will have some room and use for it and this commode can be used as a center piece in a tiny apartment or just serve the purpose of a nightstand in an oversize bedroom. It is not a cheap contemporary reproduction made in Egypt. With ugly brass mounts and tasteless imitation of real marquetry work, which are offered on eBay for more than my selling price, but a fine quality authentic item. Fine inlaid tulipwood veneer is protected from scratching with bronze mounts. Including sabots on the legs and escutcheon around keyhole. Lock is complete with an original working key and will locked the both drawers at once. Detailed marquetry work depicting fresh flower arrangements and the image was meticously constructed from the species of exotic wood veneers of different colors. This Beautiful pair of Louis XV Style Marble Top Commodes have been in my family for about sixty(60) years. They were a part of an inheritance from the Estate of Albert and Nellie Neebling. Residents of the San Francisco area at the time of their death, who make their wealth in the shoe business in the early 1900's. An appraisal is available upon request(dated September 4, 1975) from a Sr. Member American Society of Appraisers, Geo. E. Bensley, ASA, and reads as follows: The pair of Louis XV Style Marble Top Commodes made of Walnut, have scalloped top w/serpentine front. Has painted Floral Bouquet in Center of Bottom Double Drawers. Skirt and Cabriole legs are pierce carved in leaf scroll and floral patterns. Marble top is mottled black. 16"x 30"x 31" tall.

Pair Nightstands commodes French Style Louis XV Inlaid bronze mounted Marble top
Up for auction are a pair of beautiful night stands. Commodes, from the turn of the 19th to 20th century with inlaid wood, bronze mounted, with marble tops. These are very unique pieces with much character. These are 29.25" tall, 21.25" wide, and 13.25" deep. Each night stand has 2 drawers, and each drawer has two(2) bronze pulls. The marble tops are perfect. The bronze mounts are extremely detailed and run the ENTIRE perimeter of each night stand and 3 corners of each leg. The wood inlay is very detailed. There are a few blemishes and I will describe them. There are small vertical splits in the inlay seam in all four sides. There are several places with a piece of the inlay has been chipped away- the biggest(1/2 x 1/2) is at the top where the night stand ends and the marble begins. It is not noticeable because the marble hides ... moreit. None of these blemishes are overtly noticeable but upon close inspection one will see them. I share this level of detail so there are no surprises. Wife and I got divorced. She took the home theater which she hated and left me with the antiques. Go figure. My loss is your gain.
