GREAT MID CENTURY RETRO ROUND NESTING / STACKING TABLES FAUX MARBLE TOPS EAMES !
Hollywood Regency Mid Century Modern Up for auction is a nice set of 3 vintage 1960's or 1970's nesting/stacking tables in good vintage condition. The legs are beautifully tapered wood. The tops have a Formica faux marbalized finish and around each table top is a faux inlaid design. Individually they stand 15 inches high and the diameter of each top is 17 inches. These are in good used condition, the tops appear to be almost like new. The legs just have a few minor rubs but a little Formby's should take care of those. Some of the brass tops(one is a little dented) on the legs are tarnished with age and could be cleaned with a brass cleaner or a very fine steel wool. But all in all the tables look great. These are the bomb, a pair of great antique polychrome on wood carved Italian stands with a pair of marble tops. they are ornate as can be, carved fruit motif in color with gilt detailing, you can see the grapes, apples and fruit all carved and painted with gilt detailing all around. There is wear to the paint on the bases and around the area, but it looks great as aged painted pieces would look, they are done on the back and the front, old and look old, they come with a pair of marble rectangle tops with ogee edging. the marble is all good no cracks or chips. the marble and bases are not conected so you will need to do that or mount to wall. This set is sure to grace any room with its stunning. Solid Walnut craftsmanship, warm, earth tone marble tops, bevelled mirrors, and elegant style. All pieces are in wonderful shape. Without any major damage, dings, scratches, significant discolouration, or chipping finish. The finish appears to be the original, although there are areas which seem to have been rubbed out, or had finish repair done. There are some minor scratches, dings and the like which one would expect on any antique furniture. The bevelled mirrors have minimal spotting/blemishes. The Armoire mirror has a black spot toward the center. Some would call ... moreit patina? I understand this to be common with age. The drawers are all"old world" dove tail jointed. The appliques are made of some sort of metal(not sure what) There is not a key for the Armoire, or other locks. Note: these can be found through catalogues, or antique stores. My Mother bought the set at a very large/Mansion estate sale around 15 years ago. She needed to downsize her own home 10 years ago and the furniture has been stored in our second garage since then. In looking for any identifying marks, I pulled off the back of the dressers mirror and found a stamp with"GALVANOR MARQUE DEPOSEE PROCEDE BREVETE" Loosely translated, Galvanized Registered Trademark Patented Procedure" Thus, I think it safe to assume it is French. Where the marble insets into the frame shows some chipping around the edges, very common for these pieces considering the age, these tables have not been restored. Or chiffioneers as the French would call them. One(right one) may look a bit lighter than the other, but it is not. There is a large window to the right of it and the sunshine comes streaming thru. They are identical. They are a wonderful height of, especially for a bedroom where one can put a lamp on next to a nice high comfy bed and have ample lighting. They measure 33 1/2" high and are artfully shaped being more narrow in front 12 5/8" and curving back to 15 7/8" They fit wonderfully and aesthetically next to a big bed. Now. structurally. They are excellent with no veneers missing. Very intricate workmanship with bands of veneers thoughout ... morethe entire piece. Beautifully crafted parquetry patterns were applied and executed to make these top quality table. The hardware is original as well and all the bronze ormalu original and beautiful too. These tables came from a highend estate and the past owner was a famous architect in Pa. as I understand it. The black and white marble tops are wonderful and again. In excellent condition. Please see the lovely shape of the door when open, I have many pictures. The age of these is unknown, however my best guess from the estate information and my past experience tells me these are late 1800s early 1900s and are some of Kingwoods finest. Night Stand, Head Board and rails, 2 Mirrors that attach to the dresser, the dresser has 2 marble tops. The dresser has a spot on the top where it was scratched from the mirror. There are some other scratches, the night stand has some scratches as well, all marks can be sanded and refinished, this set is solid wood and isn't in that bad of shape for its age, the mirrors and head board are in good condition, the marble tops for the dresser are in very good condition could just be cleaned, the mirrors still have the tags on them from when the were bought. Bases have 3 sections of high quality polished marble or alabaster amidst fancy bronze or brass like castings and handles.Upper section is tapered hexagon shaped with the glass having much embossed varying diagonal striping to spread the glow of the bulb. Top hinges open after a locking pin is removed to change the bulb and has lots of open fretwork. One switch works well-the other is touchy and must be played with to get it to stay on. Switches are at the base. Lamps weigh a heavy 10 lbs each. Stand 27 1/2" tall, are 8" diameter at the base and are about 8" wide at the lantern top. antique mahogany plant or fern stands, pedestals with or without marble tops
for auction is a very nice pair of mahogany pedestals or plant stands. they have marble tops with them. But some may prefer to use them without the marble as the tops are finished nicely and show nice mahogany grain. the marble tops are used in the most part to protect the tops from water rings etc. so you can take them or leave them. the tops are not original to the pedestals. i would like to apologize for all the dust, i did not realize how dirty they were until i looked at the pictures. anything you see on the tops or anywhere is something that will wipe right off. also, although these pedestals look like a pair, they do not match exactly, they are the same height and diameter but there are some minor differences in them, ie. in the feet and rings and contours on the shaft. they go great together, but again they are not identical. i am ... morelisting them together and the price will buy both, however, if you only want one, let me know and we can work it out for the purchase of one or i can relist them as singles. they are 32 inches tall with the marble, a bit over 31 without it. the diameter of the marble tops is 14.25, the diameter of the mahogany tops are 31.5 inches. the diameter across the toes at the bottom is a bit over 17 inches. they are a nice set of antique pedestals and look good together and are hard to tell apart unless you scrutinize them closely. they may be picked up at my home or shipped at buyer's expense. they can go usps, ups, fedex, or greyhound. good luck.

Antique Victorian Walnut Drop Well Dresser w/ Marble Tops Ornate Hand Carving
We are pleased to offer to the market this beautiful antique drop well dresser. Constructed from walnut. This piece is ornately carved. The piece stands 91.5" high at the center of the mirror. The base is 44.5" wide at the bottom and 44" wide at the top of the drawers. It has an overall depth of 18 1/8" and the height of the center well is 16 5/8" The hardware on this has been replaced but still matches quite well. The pulls all have lion faces on them. The marble slabs that sit on the top of the drawers have a space that is approximately 1/2 an inch on each side where the wood shows. I am unsure as to whether these pieces were replaced or not. The slab of marble that sits on top of the well fits snugly and appears to be original to the piece. There are"wings" that attach on each side of the mirror that ... morehave attached candle stands on the front. These also have ornate carving on them. The mirror has beveled glass and is in good condition. There are some age separation cracks on the side panels and there is also a crack on the inside panel on the left side. The drawer fronts are embellished with lovely hand carved florals and rondels. Detailed florals figure on the metal knobs of both the drawers and doors. The drawers are very nicely dovetailed- a sign of quality craftmanship. Hand carved florals also figure on the four corners ... moreof the 2 doors. They retain the original bevelled marble tops which are a soft tannish/dessert sand( color with dramatic veining- would compliment many color palettes. These nightstands are in very good antique condition. The marble tops have no cracks or stains. There are a few tiny chips along the edges of both- barely discernible. There is some fading on the sides of the stands. The interiors of the cabinets retain the original white glass/enamel. The only reason I'm selling it is because we're moving soon. Definitely European made. Most likely either German, Dutch or Belgian from the style. I'd say it's from the late 1800's to the early 1900's and the carvings of roses and other flowers are just fantastic! Very heavy piece of furniture. But the bottom is separate from the glass case curio on top and all three marble pieces come off as well. Wonderful beveled corners. Great esthetic details. Also has mirrored ... morebacks to the center and top pieces. Overall condition is good for its age with some minor wear like scuffs and a small crack in one door(see picture) that needs to be clamped and glued. We can't open the door on the right.we have a key but it's stuck somehow and we're not handy. Inside the side door is an English style adjustment system for shelves(no shelves included) Large center cupboard. Small drawer with Victorian hardware. Paneled side panels, really sturdy construction. Pink veined marble seems original to the piece. But the previous owner broke the center one and glued it and them applied varnish- a bit crackled. It looks like over the years someone has altered the top: the top itself seems original. But the sliding glass doors and metal trim on the front, As well as the slightly less delicate beveled side trim seem to be later addition- perhaps from the 50's or so? We are pleased to offer this fine pair of Mid Century nightstands or accent/side tables. The pair are crafted of solid wood and feature French. Louis XV style. They are a tiered design with an upper drawer and a lower shelf. The pair have curved front profiles and cabriole legs. The drawer has a large or ornate pull on the bowed front. A window pane/recessed panel is featured on each of the concave sides of the drawer front. The pair have BEAUTIFUL marble tops from Portugal. The tops are cut to perfectly match the curvature of the table tops. The marble is a rouge beige color with ruddy brown(a little red in the undertones) color to the veins. The marble is of the same slab as the colors are identical, but, you can tell that the vein patterns are different. No doubt, the slab had a varied pattern. This gives the pair a matched but interesting ... morelook. The tops sit freely on the tables and over extend the tables in size. The marble is stamped"W&Z Portugal" The tables are not marked. The pieces are in very good condition. They retain their original, golden pecan finish. There are some minor scuffs and surface scratches but, nothing distracting or severe. The marble is very good with no chips, cracks, etc. There are very minor and very light surface scratches that are practically unnoticeable. The old finish on walnut with burl panels is very well preserved. Waxed and polished. Only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain the warm patina. This matched pair has subtle variations including different hand carved heads at the top. Feet and pulls. Shaped marble tops have been polished and sealed to resist stains. Solid walnut is accented with burl panels. The finish is in excellent condition with warm patina and a few mars at the edges for antique character. This graceful and opulent ensemble is American made. The bed has been expertly adapted to fit a standard modern queen size mattress and spring unit. Together 16" thick in photos. Most likely either German, Dutch or Belgian(Flemish) from the style and I'd say it's from the late 1800's to the early 1900's and the carvings of roses and other flowers are just fantastic! Very heavy piece of furniture. But the bottom is separate from the glass case curio on top and all three marble pieces come off as well. Wonderful beveled corners. Overall condition is good for its age with some minor wear like scuffs and a small crack in one door(see picture) that needs to be clamped and glued. Small drawer with Victorian hardware. Paneled side panels, really sturdy construction. Pink veined marble seems original to the piece. But the previous owner broke the center one and glued it and them applied varnish- a bit crackled. Dimensions of the bottom alone are: 59" wide by 17 3/4" deep by 54 1/2" tall including the marble top. The curio adds another 13" in height.
