HUGE 45" VINTAGE/ANTIQUE DEEP WOOD GOLD PICTURE FRAME
Th is handsome substantial wood frame was probably made some time early in the 1900s. It has a beautiful tarnished gold finish with one b lack stripe as shown. The high gloss gold finish has some tarnish a nd slight wear on the corners and edges. As is age appropriate. This e nhances the vintage charm; it would look great on an old painting or traditional print. It measures about 4 5 x 34" on the outside and would take a canvas about 38 x 27" It is 2" deep. The decorative gesso to the to the innermost section of the frame is decorated in gold Leaf. The picture inside the frame is a signed chronograph print by William henry Chandler. He was an artist who resided in North Jersey and commuted to New York daily. I also find new and interesting things at local estate sales. I have just acquired this lovely antique frame with a needlepoint of a bird from a local estate. It is made of walnut I believe. It has a deep well. Trimmed with a gold inner frame. The needlepoint has a beige background with a bird on a branch. It measures 13-3/8" by 11" on the outside and 9-7/8" by 7-5/8" inside. It has a glass. It is in very good condition with NO BREAKS OR REPAIRS. I see just a few scratches that can be cleaned up. It comes from a smoke-free home.
