Condition: Used Location: Charleston, United States This listing is for a Antique Quarter-sawn Tiger Oak Victorian Glass Ball Claw Footed 2-Tier Parlor Table. This piece stands 30 inches tall~ approx 2 ... more1/2 feet. 22 3/4 inches across the top/ square. The bottom shelf. At the narrowest point, measures 15 inches across square. The glass balls in the feet measure 3 inches across and the legs. At the widest point, about half way up, measures 3 1/4 inches across. This table is not marked. Signed, dated, stamped or otherwise labeled. There is a small dark stain to the table top that measures approx 4inches by 2 inches. A darker spot next to that as well but not sure what that spot is. Both can be seen in the last picture. There are no major chips. Cracks or other issues to any part of the wood. It is possible this is a Louis F Nonnast table made between 1878-1888. I do not know much about this size. Style or age. If you have any information that may be helpful to identifying this piece. I would very much appreciate dropping me a line or two. Local Pick Up is best for this large. Beautiful and well taken care of item. It worries me to ship it as I have seen very few table such as this. However. The way this is constructed, it appears it can be taken apart ~ legs removed and lower shelf removed, for possible shipping. Because of its size and weight. It may need to be shipped Freight~ atleast the top of the table, which I do not have an account or shipping association to do. I can check with UPS and see what would need to be done. I really want to keep it but I just don't have a spot for it and this table deserves to be put in a loving space. I purchased it today actually. I bought it from a sweet older couple from New York who now live in Palm Harbor, FL. The husband explained that it was his Grandmother's first then his mother had it. He said his Grandmother got it around the time she was married and he couldn't remember if it was 1897 or 1898. The condition is superior. It has been well cared for for 115 years by the same family. The oak grain is beautiful and the only flaws are: on the bottom of one of the round feet. Someone cut off a section of the very bottom so that it would fit closely next to something.however, it still is level because they cut off only a section, not the entire tip(please see the last pic) The other flaw is that there is a hair line split on the top where the wood has a miniscule separation. I had to inspect closely to find this. This table requires no restoration whatsoever. Has beautiful detail in the grain. Measurements are as follows: Oval Top is 32.75" long x 18" wide 27" tall from floor to top middle decorative shelf is 7.25" wide x 16" long with scrolling lower 2 round shelves are 10.5" in diameter. Of course it would save you money to pick up this table locally if you can because I will need to ship UPS and the box will be huge. Thank you so much for shopping with me. Custome Frame, Made From Reclaimed Old Growth Quarter Sawn Tiger Oak.
This frame is one of many more different pieces to come from this wood. I was lucky to have stumbled across a 1900th century old farm house is southern Ohio that was being demolished. I was able to salvage some lumber from the remaining pile of material. All the roof rafter in the building were true Virgin"Quarter Sawn Timber" from the"Old Growth" forests. I know this because of the density. Color of the wood and how close the growth rings and medullary ray's are. This is indicative on how old the tree was before it was cut down. The total frame measures 29-1/2" by 14-1/2" The inside measurements where glass. Picture etc. go is 24-1/2" by 9-1/2" The inside rabbit depth is 5/16" Total thickness is 5/8" Frame has my secrete formula for its finish that I toyed around with for years. You can see by the way the back is constructed(see photo) that this lovely handmade oak frame is all original and that the print behind the old glass has never been changed. The round shaped oak was quarter-sawn for an interesting tiger grain effect. The edges are trimmed with gilt gesso; the gilding has become very soft with age. The piece is 10.75 inches in diameter. The wood frame is two inches around. The piece is in good condition except for are a few tiny chips in the decorative gesso(see photo) The print is a rare sepia portrait of the Young Jesus.

Condition Description: Gorgeous 3" Wide 1 1/2" Deep Framing ready for your Masterpiece! Solid. Quality construction, looks like wood nail tips? The carved 1/2" wide inset looks like an oak leaf with acorns and on one of the shorter sides is missing about a 3/4" piece. But it is not very noticeable ... moreunless you are looking for it. Especially b/c it is the natural oak also vs. a painted trim. The only other flaws I see on this frame is about the outside edge of the frame are are a couple of very minor slivers of oak that is gone. they are so slender that it not visibly noticeable but if you rub your finger along the edge that you can feel it. Overall though. This is a beautiful antique solid frame. There are 2 holes drilled in the back for a vertical hung painting or mirror. But also looks like it may have at one point housed a piece that was hung horizontally. But they are much smaller. Like nail holes. Circa 1900- 1950. From a Baltimore MD estate.

Condition Description: An old wood process of fuming the wood thereby enhancing the Oaks wood grain and a quarter sawn cutting technique used make this truly a magnificent framing displaying treasured art work! The finish on this frame is amazing. Please note though there are some signs of wear consistent with its age and use but it is still truly a lovely frame. Please note, it looks like someone attempted to put a wood filler on two of the corners rather than tightening them.please see the pictures. I am selling a Handcrafted one of a kind beveled mirror frame that I made from reclaimed wormy maple. This piece of reclaimed hard rock maple was heavily eaten by carpenter ants and termites. When milling this wood I cleaned out all the loose material and created a Beautiful piece of art. The edges of this frame show the live edge of the tree and also show the band saw blade marks when originally milled. These type of marking tells us that this piece of wood was milled by an early pit saw or band saw not a newer round curricular saw blade. These markings make this wood an older piece of salvaged material. Early 1900's. With this particular frame I have built a matching pair. This one I am auction off is labeled, 1 from the set. Some of my frames have irregular opening sizes because I just couldn't waste any of the valuable material. ... moreSome of this wood is hard to fine in the rough. Frames mirror is a 10-7/8 inch by 10-7/8 inch*The over all size of the frame is 18-3/4 inches by 19-1/4 inches. The wood thickness is a heavy 3/4 inch. This frame is constructed with biscuit jointery. The finish is a hand rubbed orange shellac. Walnut gel stain, tongue oil and a final coat of polyurethane. I am in the process of de-clutter my life in preparation to one-day move. I have decided to auction off some of my handmade frames and many other things to help my family and I save for our first home together. In the upcoming weeks I will be posting items for auction. Barey dusted, all original surface(I have not attempted to clean) Very nice double groove pattern to frame. Hand forged nails. All miters are very tight. Original sepia photograph was rebacked and remounted inside original frame. Original rippled glass with bubbles. Photograph appears to be either Chicago or Boston based on Trolley car. Frame has some light scratching(as shown in photos) Measures 23 1/2" length x 14 1/2" high with a 20" x 10" rabbet. Frame is 2" wide. It is 3/4" deep. PAIR Antique/Vtg Quarter sawn OAK FRAMES Arts & Crafts for 11x14" Picture
A wonderful pair of old frames that look to have been refinished and have a satin coat. They have openings for 11" by 14" with overall dimensions of 14.5" by 17.5" and they are about 3/4" thick. Nice quality wood with quarter sawn graining and arts and crafts design. When they refinished them they made nice 3/8" thick backs for them out of fiberboard with paneling pattern. Very sturdy!
