ANTIQUE TIGER WOOD FRAME WITH PRINT OF MORRIS AND BENDIEN "MOTHER AND SON"
This is an antique tiger wood frame 16 1/2" x 21 1/2" wide. It is 14" x 18" on the inside. The print is a Morris and Bendien" Mother and Son" Isreals is in the other corner, probably the artist. The second picture is what is written on the back of the print. There is some darker places on the print that look like tornados where dirt got inside over the years and the frame has some light scratches that I touched up with stain. The biggest spot, picture 4, which is really not all that noticeable. The last picture was taken outside so there is some shading from the trees. One dark spot and one small tear on the matt behind the print. Please look at all the pictures closely and fell free to ask questions. Othaus Original 1909 Oval Framed Print,Mother Dog and her Pups, E I Dupont Issue
Vintage antique print that depicts a mother Springer Spaniel Dog with her litter of six puppy dogs. They are all playing around her. Beautiful collectible print by the reknown artist Edmund Osthaus. Print is known as the title: NO PLACE FOR A FROG. With this print being a rounded oval shape. The signaturer which would be in the lower right hand area is missing. As also this particular image issue was released by the E.I. DUPONT De Nemours Powder Co. Illustration by the famous artist. EDMUND HENRY OSTHAUS, AMERICAN. 1858-1928) Edmund Henry Osthaus was born in Hildesheim. Germany in 1858. His parents immigrated to the United States first and Osthaus followed them in 1883 with his sister. He was invited to become principal at new the Toledo Academy of Fine Arts. In 1892. He married Charlotte Becker with whom he had several children. Osthaus ... moreleft the Academy in 1893 to spend more time working with his field dogs(primarily setters and pointers) Shooting and to pursue his painting. That year he opened a studio in Toledo. Osthaus was both a sportsman and an artist. He was proficient with a rod and wheel. Able to shoot a bird on the wing as well as capture nature to canvas. He helped found the National Field Trial Association and for its first 30 years immortalized each year’s field trial winning dogs. He painted a series of“champion portraits” that the Du Pont gunpowder company used as advertising pieces like calendars, postcards and lithographs. While Osthaus is most well-known for his sporting dog pieces. He also completed many fine landscapes of cowboys on horseback, horses, cows and traditional portraits. Many the portraits included the subject’s favorite dogs. He worked in oils, water color, pen and ink and pencil. His last work, a dog’s head sketched days before he died, was drawn on a friend’s table cloth in pencil. I got this at an estate sale so don't know exact age but believe its from the teens. Beautiful print of Mother& child in a wood frame. The frame does have issues but is still neat. Some of the veneer is off at bottom. Part of oval around print is off as well. Its 10 x 13" in size. The applique piece at top is neat and in good shape. This has been in my husband's family since the early 1900's with several children born around 1900-1910. I had this in my son's nursery too. Please see all 11 photos and enlarge for more description. Rippling of print. Spots under glass. Brass plate tarnished-some letters rubbed off. Slivers of wood missing. Rusty nails on back. Spots on wood back and back cardboard. Corners are sturdy but not tight. One nail on bottom back is missing. The glass looks like it could be taken out and washed on the inside. There are spots on the inside of ... morethe glass. It looks like most of the spots are on the glass rather than the print. But not 100% sure all of them are. I am afraid to take the glass off and wash it as I don't want to bend the original nails.

Beautiful ornate frame with mid-20th century print of"Rembrandt's Mother" The frame has black sides. With faux-tiger maple front with etched design, and gold edging around the picture opening. The gold edging has some dirt/spots. One corner has chipping. Outside measurement 10 3/4" x 12 3/4" x2 1/4" deep. Picture opening 7 5/8" x 9 5/8" Incredibly elegant. Detailed frame. Adorable Vtg ART NOUVEAU GESSO BURGUNDY GREEN WOOD FRAME MOTHER & CHILD PRINT

The frame is made of wood, round, glass insert, art nouveau detailing that has medallions in gold with mauve centers, burgundy colored pebbled border with green colored pebbled coloring on each side of the burgundy. The print is very colorful, a mother with two children. Back of frame has two(2) metal rings and sturdy corded string that will allow you to hang from any wall or door area. Frame itself measures 18 3/4"in. round, 1 1/8"in. deep, and the print itself is 15 1/4"in. wide. EXCELLENT VINTAGE CONDITION. ANTIQUE PRINT MOTHER AND CHILD'DEAREST OF ALL' OGEE FRAME SOME ISSUES 15X20*I received this frame from an estate auction. Meaning it did not belong to me and I will try to describe it the best I can* The auctioneer said this was a OGEE frame but i do not see any marking on it. I have asked several other people who have also classified it as an OGEE frame. The print inside appears to be very old and is starting to chip within the portrait. It is titled"Dearest of All" The frame shows scratches and marks and I do not know whether it has been refinished or not. This is my first ever frame. The size of the frame is appox 15x20" I have provided measurements in the pictures listed. Please view all pictures and feel free to ask any additional questions! Note: The pictures I took show reflections of my cellphone and overhead ... morephoto lights. If you need additional pictures I can arrange to take some in a natural light setting.
